OAKWOOD -- Mary John Varley, 68, of Odessa, a retired school teacher, died Thursday, June 25, 1998, at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Oakwood City cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Greenville and moved to Odessa in 1951 from Austin. She was Methodist.

Survivors: Husband, Roy Varley of Odessa; and brother, Cross Moore of Oakwood.

Marie Ash

ODESSA -- Marie Ash, 75, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Saturday, June 27, 1998, in an Odessa hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 29, 1998, at Trinity Memorial Park with Dr. Claude Craven officiating. Arrangements by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

She was born in Fluvanna. She was Baptist.

Survivors: Husband, Bob Ash of Odessa; daughters, Melva Shearin of Big Spring and Pam Beck of Abilene; son, Gene Patton of Gene; step-sons, Link Ash and Matt Ash both of San Antonio; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

William Holiman

MIDLAND -- William T. Holiman, 65, of Midland,a long-time shop foreman for the City of Midland, died Saturday, June 27, 1998, at his residence.

Services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Pipkin Funeral Home Chapel in Midland with the Rev. Gale Wilson officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday following a short graveside service at Arden cemetery near San Angelo.

He was born near Energy in Comanche County. He was a member of the Permian Basin Farmers Market Association.

Survivors: Wife, Shirley Lorraine Holikman of Midland; son, Monte L. Holiman of Magnolia; daughter, Jeanne L. Armstrong of Midland; sister, Elsie Harper of San Angelo; brother, Odis M. Holiman of Midkiff and three grandchildren.

Willard Huntington

JAL, N.M. -- Willard Vernon Huntington, 76, of Jal, N.M., a retired warehouse supervisor for El Paso Natural Gas, died Thursday, June 25, 1998, at Columbia Lea Regional Hospital in Hobbs, N.M.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Jal First Baptist Church. The Rev. Micheal May of Jal Church of God officiated. He was assisted by Brother G.A. Magee of Jal First Baptist Church. Burial was in Jal cemetery. Arrangements by Calvary Funeral Home.

He was born in Sabanna. He was in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors: Wife, Pat Huntington of Jal, N.M.; son, Mike Allen Huntington of Jal, N.M.; daughter, Verna Jean Jinkins of Carlsbad, N.M.; step-son, Johnny Hewett of Albuquerque, N.M.; step-daughters, Sharian Clinton of Jal, N.M., Janet Bailey of Houston and Vicki Kelton of Jal, N.M.; sisters, Alona Helena Gilbert of Austin and Dessie Haurel of Midland; brother James Huntington; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Margaret Neill

OZONA -- Margaret Culp Neill, 84, of Ozona, died Thursday, June 25, 1998, in a San Angelo hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 1998, in Crane County cemetery in Crane. Arrangements by Preddy Funeral Home.

Survivors: Daughters, Kay Nash of Ft. Gibson, Okla. and Roylan Sullivan of Ozona; sister, Sue Vincius of Mansfield; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Elton Wallace

LUTHER -- Elton Wallace, 67, of Luther, an accountant, died Wednesday, June 24, 1998, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 29, 1998, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Burial will follow in Mount Olive Memorial Park. Arrangements by Myers & Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.

He was born in Big Spring. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served as a local bishop for eight years.

Survivors: Wife, Jeanette Wallace of Luther; sons, DeWayne Wallace of Kermit, Davis Wallace of Georgia and Douglas Wallace of Provo, Utah; daughters, Lisa Bernet of San Antonio, Marsha Meeks of Lake Whitney and Aimee Wallace of Luther; sister, Marie Ervin of Austin and 23 grandchildren.

George DeRusha

KERRVILLE -- George Washington "Joe" DeRusha, 78, of Kerrville, died Saturday, June 27, 1998, in Kerrville.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Oakwood cemetery in Corsicana with Dr. David Hale officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. Arrangements by Corley Funeral Home.

He was born in Emhouse. He was a former Odessa resident.

Survivors: Sons, Joe L. DeRusha of Leander and Martin DeRusha of Arlington; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary Holliday

ANDREWS -- Mary Fae Holliday, 61, of Andrews, died Saturday, June 27, 1998, at the Andrews Healthcare Center.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. today at McNett Funeral Home. Cremation will follow under the direction of McNett Funeral Home. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.

She was born in Cisco. She was Baptist.

Survivors: Husband, H.B. "Doc" Holliday of Andrews; sons, Allen Holliday of San Antonio, James Holliday of Wolfforth, Richard Holliday of Odessa and Shawn Holliday of Odessa; mother, Eva Kinard of Cisco; brother, Lee Edwin Kinard of Cisco; sisters, Norma Curr of San Antonio, Eva Joe Hollis of Junction and Ida Cofen of Tyler and four grandchildren.

Ofelia Perez

ODESSA -- Ofelia Alvarado Perez (Trevino), 44, of Odessa, died Saturday, June 29, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Mass will be held at 2 p.m. today at Holy Redeemer with Father Chavez officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Angeles Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home.

She was born in Mexico.

Survivors: Husband, Alberto Charles Perez of Odessa; daughters, Annette Alvarado Trevino of Dallas and Abigail Alvarado Perez of Odessa; parents, Pablo Alvarado Sr. and Manuela F. Alvarado; grandmother, Anna Maria Flores; brothers, Ruben Alvarado, Victor Alvarado, Pablo Alvarado Jr. and Raymond Alvarado all of Odessa; sister, Anna Gomez of Odessa.
