PECOS — Hipolito Lira, 53, of Pecos, a maintenance person and bus driver, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, at Reeves County Hospital.
Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday at Santa Rosa Catholic Church. Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Mount Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Juarez, Mexico, and was a lifelong resident of Pecos. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Estella Lira of Pecos; sons, Hipolito Lira Jr., Daniel Lira and Alfredo Lira, all of Pecos; daughters, Sandra Lira of Pecos and Rosela Bullis of Odessa; brother, Elias Lira of Palmdale, Calif.; sisters, Eunice Mancinas and Rosa Lira, both of Juarez, Mexico, Beatriz Melendez of El Paso and Juana Moreno of California.

Barbara Stepp
SAN DIEGO — Barbara Stepp, 77, of San Diego, a registered nurse, died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at El Cajon Valley Convalescent Center.
There will be no services.
She was born in Monroe, La., and was a former resident of Odessa. She was Presbyterian.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Betty Stepp Blair of Del Mar, Calif., and Barbara Stepp Neilson of Dorset, Vt.; sister, Alice Boyd Logan Doyle of El Cerrito, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Billy Turner
FORT WORTH — Billy Ray Turner, 66, of Fort Worth, former owner of Jenny Trucking Co. and Turner Best Service, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson’s Harveson and Cole Funeral Home with the Rev. Carroll Marr officiating. Burial will be at Laurel Land Memorial Park. Arrangements by Thompson’s Harveson and Cole Funeral Home.
He was born in Overton and was a former resident of Odessa. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Jennie Sue Turner of Fort Worth; son, Michael Ray Turner of Fort Worth; daughter, Martha Brunson of Fort Worth; sister, Betty Will of Odessa; and five grandchildren.

Marvin Duckworth
ODESSA — Marvin Duckworth, 88, of Odessa, a truck driver, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999, at his residence.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Tom Hizer officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
He was born in Pawnee, Okla., and moved to Odessa in 1965 from Hobbs, N.M.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Helen Duckworth of Odessa; sons, George Duckworth of Las Cruces, N.M., Ronald Dillman of Prague, Okla., Robert Duckworth of Altus, Okla., James Dillman of Hobbs, N.M., David Duckworth and Thomas Duckworth, both of Odessa; sisters, Doris Smith of Bozeman, Mont., and Elizabeth Manley of Hereford; 20 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Guillerma Lujan
ODESSA — Guillerma Lujan, 63, of Odessa, died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Iglesia Apostolica De La Fe En Cristo Jesus with the Rev. Roman Arreola officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.
She was born in Ojinaga, Mexico.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Sylvia Levario, Concepcion Flores and Aime Carrasco, all of Odessa; mother, Inez Dominguez of Odessa; brothers, Silino Lujan and Armando Lujan, both of Pecos; sisters, Ofelia Zubiate of Odessa and Socorro Estrada of Ojinaga, Mexico; and 11 grandchildren.

Julia Ward
ODESSA — Julia Hampton Ward, of Pecos, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, at Pecos Nursing Home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pecos Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Abbott officiating. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.
She was born in Pecos and was a lifelong resident.
SURVIVORS: Sister, Ora Belle Casey of Kingman, Ariz.

Dorothy Williams
CRANE — Dorothy Wilene Williams, 81, of Crane, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999, at the Crane County Care Center.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Crane County cemetery with the Rev. Eddie Johnston officiating. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
She was born in Plainview, Ark., and was a longtime resident of Crane. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Sisters, Virginia Clayton of Crane, Marguerite Brazell of Lewiston, Idaho, and Lois Adamo of Henryetta, Okla.; and brother, Orval Carter of Oklahoma City.

Margart Bragg
PECOS — Margart Bragg, 76, of Pecos, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999, at Reeves County Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Abbott officiating. Burial will be at Mount Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.
She was born in Benoit. She was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Mark Bragg of Pecos, Richard Bragg of Ozona and Rex Bragg of Carlisle, Penn.; daughters, Betsy Bragg of Pecos, Pat Morrison of Alpine and Claudia Conn of Sulfur, La.; sister, Louise Williams of Ballinger; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Albert Huddlestun
CISCO — Albert Lee Huddlestun, 73, of Cisco, a pneumatic control engineer, died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at his residence.
Graveside services were held Monday, at Oakwood cemetery. Arrangements were by Kimbrough Funeral Home.
He was born in Centralia, Ill. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Shirley Huddlestun of Cisco; son, Lyle Dean Huddlestun of Odessa; daughter, Linda Mae McCord of Cisco; sister, Jesse Baumbadairy of Stanton, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

STANTON — Eva Saenz, 46, of Stanton, a teacher, died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, in Midland.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Arturo Pestin and Ernie Sanchez officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery. Arrangements by Stanton Memorial Funeral Home
She was born in Brownfield. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Son, Matthew Saenz of Stanton; daughters, Maria Saenz and Hope Saenz, both of Stanton; sisters, Sally Hinojosa and Josie Armendarez, both of Stanton, Damiana Cordova of Austin and Andrea Aguirre of Odessa; and brother, Frank Arguello of Round Rock.

MONAHANS — Glotha Smith, 96, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Third and Dwight Church of Christ with Mike Hardaway officiating. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.
She was born in Miller County, Mo. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Pete Smith of Burnett and Jack Smith of Del Rio; daughter, Maxine Lee of Odessa; 16 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
