Gertrude Wells

McCAMEY - Gertrude Wells, 86, of McCamey, a homemaker, died Monday, April 16, 2001, at Hospice Home in Odessa.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with W.C. Kenan officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories cemetery. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.

She was born in Grapeland and had been a resident of San Angelo and Fort Worth. She was a member of the Church of God in Christ.

SURVIVORS: Three grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.

Ines Caballero

ODESSA - Ines C. Caballero, 78, of Odessa, a retired ranch hand, died Monday, April 30, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.

Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

He was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, and was a lifelong resident of Odessa. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Maria C. Santiesteban of El Paso, Martha C. Navarro, Rosenda Caballero and Irma C. Baeza, all of Odessa; sisters, Amparo C. Ponce of Odessa, Maria C. Ramos of Ojinaga, Mexico, and Juanita C. Calsaller of Brady; brothers, Federico Caballero and Crisoforo Caballero, both of Odessa, Jesus Caballero of Amarillo, Cosme Caballero and Lupe Caballero, both of Hobbs, N.M.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Bill Chesney

ANDREWS - Bill Chesney, 76, of San Antonio, retired Andrews County commissioner, died Sunday, April 29, 2001, in San Antonio.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Andrews Old cemetery with Ted Short officiating. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.

He was born in Sweetwater and had been a longtime resident of Andrews.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Jean Chesney of San Antonio; daughter, Kim Ford of San Antonio; sisters, Charlene Parker of Andrews, Jaundel Middleton of Tempe, Ariz., Evelyn Gardner of New Boston and Jean Templeton of Chandler; and a granddaughter.

Margie Davis

ODESSA - Margie Davis, 65, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Paul, Ala., and moved to Odessa in 1971 from Houston. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Milton Davis of Odessa; daughters, Deborah Vanley of Midland and Laurie Schlehuber of Odessa; mother, Verdell Turner of Conroe; brothers, Mike Turner of Houston, Royce Turner of Conroe and Thomas Turner of Spring; and sisters, Dorothy Goodwin of Conroe and Louise James of Brewton, Ala.

Morris Hart

ODESSA - Morris Hart, 83, of Odessa died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services are pending with Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Panfilo Garza Jr.

LAMESA - Panfilo Garza Jr., 38, of Odessa, an oilfield worker, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.

Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Martin Pina officiating. Burial will be at Lamesa cemetery. Arrangements by Branon Funeral Home.

He was born in O’Donnell. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Father, Panfilo Garza Sr. of Lamesa; mother, Mary Garza of Lamesa; sisters, Beatrice Garza and Maria Leonor, both of Midland; and brothers, Fred Garza and Robert Garza, both of Odessa, Joe Garza of Midland and Ray Garza of Lamesa.

Lucia Beltran

ODESSA - Lucia Beltran, 66, of Odessa died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at her residence.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home.

She was born in Big Spring.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Guadalupe Beltran of Odessa; sons, Harvey Beltran of Odessa, Larry Beltran of Houston, and Joe Beltran of Midland; brother, Celestino Mata of Anaheim, Calif.; sisters, Aida Orosco, Sophia Melendez and Yolanda Nick, all of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and four grandsons.

Frances E. Carpenter

EARLY - Frances E. Carpenter, 81, of Early, a homemaker, died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at an Early nursing home.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Early with the Revs. Eddie Ailshie and Terry Kizer officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Van Horn cemetery. Arrangements by Heartland Funeral Home.

Carpenter was born in El Paso and had been a resident of Jeff Davis County, Van Horn and Odessa. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Carolyn Heard of Early, Kay Hoelting of Vandalia, Ohio, and Paula Gildon of Fort Worth; brother, Paulie Evans of El Paso; sister Lottie Woods of Van Horn; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

Morine Lula Carson

IRAAN - Morine Lula Carson, 90, of Sheffield, a restaurant owner, died Saturday, May 26, 2001, in Sheffield.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Sheffield Church of Christ with the Rev. Mac Deaver officiating. Burial will follow in the Sheffield cemetery. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Chapel of Iraan.

Carson was born in Sherwood and was a longtime resident of Sheffield. She was Christian.

SURVIVORS: Brother, Olin Smith of Sheffield; and several nieces and nephews and friends.

Ruth Hallmark

ODESSA - Ruth Hallmark, 76, of Odessa, a retired bookkeeper, died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at Hospice House in Odessa.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Johnny Pritcher officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Hallmark was born in Winnsboro. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Rooks Hallmark of Odessa; daughter, Bobbie Parisher of Llano; brother, Adrian Garrett of Odessa; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Pauline McClure

ARDMORE, OKLA. - Pauline E. Criswell McClure, 88, of Lone Grove, Okla., died Saturday, May 26, 2001, in Ardmore, Okla.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Oakwood cemetery in Wewoka, Okla. Arrangements by Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson, Okla.

McClure was born in Stringtown, Okla.

SUVIVORS: Sons, Paul Criswell of Odessa and Jack Criswell of Lone Grove, Okla.; daughters Bonnie Hughes of Chickasha, Okla., Pat Massey of Lone Grove, Okla., and Caroline Smith of Lone Grove, Okla.; 17 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

Rickie Lynn Tillotson

ODESSA - Rickie "Rick" Lynn Tillotson, 49, Stewart and Stevenson equipment coordinator, died May 23, 2001, in Honolulu, Hawaii.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Odessa.

Tillotson was born in Pampa and had been a resident of Fort Stockton.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Kathie Tillotson of Odessa; daughter, Kimberly Tillotson of Abilene; brother, Jimmy Leroy Tillotson of Fort Stockton; sister, Vivian T. Hickman of Fort Stockton; and mother, Elena Tillotson of Odessa.

Blanca Galindo

ALPINE - Blanca Galindo, 72, of Odessa died Saturday, May 26, 2001 at Alpine Hospital.
