ODESSA — Coy B. Ward, 86, of Odessa, retired owner and operator of Ward Used Cars, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at Hospice House.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Foard City. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Yvonne Ward of Odessa; son, Coy Don Ward of Odessa; daughter, Dr. Linda Ward of Odessa; brother, Donald J. Ward of Tulsa, Okla.; and sister, Melba Ward Holt of Arlington.

ANDREWS — Annie Dameron, 98, of Andrews died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, in Andrews.

ODESSA — Joy M. Jordon, 71, of Odessa died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at Hospice House.

McCAMEY — Frankie Pringle, 67, of Girvin died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at McCamey Hospital.

Jose Aguirre
ODESSA — Jose Aguirre, 31, of Midland, an oilfield hand for Tim’s Pumping Unit Services, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, in Jal, N.M.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Asamblea Apostolica de la Fe en Jesucristo Church with Roman Arreola officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
He was born in Cendradillas, Mexico. He was Apostolic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Areli Aguirre of Midland; son, Jose Aguirre Jr. of Midland; daughters, Joseline Aguirre and Juliana Aguirre, both of Midland; parents, Jose and Alicia Aguirre of Mexico; brothers, Humberto Aguirre of Odessa and Jose Angel Aguirre of Mexico; and sisters, Irma Reyes Aguirre of Odessa, Elsa Lopez Aguirre, Bertha Villalobos Aguirre and Dora Corona Aguirre, all of Midland, Luzesther Aguirre and Blasa Olivia Palma Aguirre, both of Mexico.

ODESSA — Lloyd “Slim” Baker, 79, of Odessa, a retired truck driver and worker in metal business, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at his residence.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
He was born in Sweetwater and moved to Odessa in 1957.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Paulette Rowntree of Arlington and Jo Glenn of Odessa; son, Les Baker of Abilene; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Ira Cox
COLORADO CITY — Ira Verneil Nell Cox, 73, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Midland.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Colorado City cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Jayton and was a resident of Odessa for over 40 years.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Linda Harris and Louise Cox, both of Odessa; sons, Danny Cox and Dean Cox, both of Odessa; sisters, Faye Franklin of Farmington, N.M., and Jo Schreiber of Llano; brothers, W.L. Thigpen of Saginaw and James Thigpen of Marble Falls; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

BARSTOW — Joe Albert Fitzgerald, 40, of Odessa, a welder assistant, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, in Odessa.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Barstow cemetery with the Rev. Ben Florez officiating. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Pecos. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Ruby L. Cook-Fitzgerald of Odessa; son, Dusty Boatman of Odessa; daughter, Shanna Fitzgerald of Denver; sister, Judy Morcau of Woodsboro; and mother, Rita R. Fitzgerald of Odessa.

R.W. Keen
ODESSA — R.W. “Woody” Keen, 82, of Odessa, retired owner of Keen Company, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at Hospice House of Odessa.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
He was born in Gail and moved to Odessa in 1958 from Farmington, N.M. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Betty Keen of Odessa; daughter, Guida Gaconnet of Weatherford; and a grandson.

ODESSA — Buddy Lee McCoy, 46, of Odessa, a former employee of Basin Welding Supply, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, in Odessa.

He was born in Wallace, Idaho, and was a resident of Odessa for 20 years.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Buddy Allen McCoy and Matthew James McCoy, both of Big Spring; mother, Dorothy J. McCoy of Long Beach, Calif.; brothers, Bill McCoy, Bob McCoy and Barney McCoy, all of Boise, Idaho; sister, Kathy Paulsen of Cheek Tawaga, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.

ODESSA — Bobby Blaine Roach, 73, of Odessa, a retired oilfield worker for Apache Service, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at Hospice House of Odessa.

He was born in Wink and moved to Odessa in 1947. He was a Marines veteran of World War II.
SURVIVORS: Son, Rory Roach of Odessa; daughter, Jo Scott of Odessa; sister, Arlene Barker of Odessa; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

He was born in Bandera and had been a resident of Andrews.

BIG SPRING — Nancy Jo Thompson-Houston, 85, of Midland, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at an Odessa hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with the Rev. David Ring officiating. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Midland with the Rev. Lane Boyd officiating. Arrangements by Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home.
She was born in Rule and had been a resident of Big Spring. She was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Carolyn Johnson of Odessa; son, Joe Thompson of Columbia, Mo.; stepsons, Robert E. Houston Jr. of Arkadelphia, Ark., and John S. Houston of Dallas; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
