Clarise Qualls

OPP, ALA. - Clarise Ethel Qualls, 75, a retired machine operator, of Opp, Ala., died Monday, Oct. 13, 1997, at Mizell Memorial Hospital.

Services were at 2 p.m. Oct. 15 at Westview Assembly of God with the Rev. John Holley officiating. Burial was at Blue Springs cemetery. Arrangements by Rainer Funeral Home.

She was born in Covington County, Ala., and was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Sylvia Carter of Opp and Jeanie Hamlin of Gardendale; brother, Sheldon McCurley of Opp; sisters, Jewel Oyer of Plant City, Fla., and Euniva Adams, Wynell Jowers and Quida Johnson, all of Opp; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

D.G. West

ODESSA - D.G. West, 80, a retired pumper for Mobil Oil Co., died Friday, Oct. 31, 1997, at Midland Memorial Hospital and Medical Center.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today at Sherwood Church of Christ with Lynn Money officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Brownwood and was a resident of Midland. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: Son, David West of Midland; and daughters, Jane Brooks of Seal Beach, Calif., and Judy Sliger of San Jacinto, Calif.

Gregoria Q. Beltran

ODESSA - Gregoria Q. Beltran, 79, a housewife, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 1997, at her home in Odessa.

Rosary services will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at the Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Chapel. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of San Juan Catholic Church. Burial will be at Rosehill cemetery with the Rev. Mark Woodruff officiating. Funeral arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home.

She was born in Shafter.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Robert Quintana of San Ramon, Calif. and Jhonny Calderon of Odessa; daughters, Ester Vigil of Westbrook, Julia Rodriguez of Post, Mary Lou Lujan of Odessa, Gloria Beltran of Odessa and Maria Calderon of Odessa; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Tommy Bolling, Sr.

PECOS - Tommy Bolling, Sr., 71, a retired employee of Dan Daniels Music Co., died Saturday, Nov. 1, 1997, in a Big Spring hospital.

Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at North Temple Baptist Church in Pecos with Pastor J.E. McCormick officiating. Burial will be at Toyah cemetery in Toyah. Funeral arrangements by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

He was born in Rotan and was a Baptist. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Clara Bolling of Toyah; son, Tommy Grant II of Liberty, Ind.; daughter, Gayla Dean Orrell of Fairbanks, Alaska; brother, E.H. Bolling of Baytown; sisters, Dorothy Lilian Jones of Mt. Jowlett, Tenn. and Ann Hassler of San Antonio and three grandchildren.

Melvin Hannah

MONAHANS - Melvin Hannah, 75, a retired Exxon employee, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 1997, at his home in Monahans.

Services will be held Monday at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Monahans. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.

He was born in Normangee, and has been a resident of Monahans since 1964. He was a member of First Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Reba Hannah of Monahans; son, Charles Hannah of Monahans; daughter, Delores Fine of Monahans; brother, Brady Hannah of Porter; sisters, Orene Hooper of Houston and Imogene Bledsoe of Sweeny; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mary Josephine Kennedy

SEMINOLE - Mary Josephine Kennedy, 89, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 1997, at Memorial Health Care Center in Seminole.

Services will be held Monday at 5 p.m. at the Gaines County cemetery with Don Fleming officiating. Burial will be at Boyer Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.

She was born in Marie, Okla. and was a member of the Westside Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: Sons, James Lloyd of Houston and Weldon of Bryan; daughters, Janelle Sullivan of Seminole, Sandra Herod of Ranger, Martha Nored of Edmond, Okla. and Mary Eckert of Gardendale; sister Jewel Taylor of Lindsborg, Kan.; 25 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Jim Marcum

MONAHANS - Jim Marcum, 68, a communication technician, died Friday, Oct. 31, 1997, at his home in Monahans.

Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Monahans. Burial will be at the Monahans Memorial cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.

He was born in Claremore, Okla. and was a member of Odessa Bible Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Jewel Marcum of Monahans; sons, Bradley Marcum of Greenville, Scottie Marcum of Monahans and Bryan Marcum of Dallas; daughter, Robin Shirley of Monahans; brother, Gene Alan Marcum of King Fisher, Okla., and eight grandchildren.

Nancy Moore

PECOS - Nancy Moore, 61, a housewife, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 1997, at her home in Pecos.

Services will be held Monday at 3 p.m. in Goree. Viewing will be at Pecos Funeral Home in Pecos and a memorial will be held at Westpark Baptist Church with the Rev. James Sain officiating. Burial will be at Goree cemetery in Goree.

She was born in Goree and has been a resident of Pecos since 1977. She was a Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Troy Moore of Pecos; son Jeff Moore of Pecos; daughters Martha Brookshire of Ballinger and Melinda Navarette of San Angelo; sister, Jane Storek of Abilene and two grandchildren.

Minnie Shackelford

ODESSA - Minnie V. Shackelford, 90, of Odessa died Friday, Oct. 31, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Rev. Ricky Barkowsky officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Shackelford was born in Whiteflat and came to Odessa in 1959. She was Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Norma Jean Nichols of Ackerly, Kathleen Stanley of Houston, Darlene Barkowsky of Lamesa; sons, Howard Glen Shackelford of Odessa, Jimmy Lee Shackelford of Odessa, Ronnie Shackelford of Odessa and Wayne Shackelford of Midland; sister, Katy Lynn of California; 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

David Butts

ODESSA - David Wesley Butts, 66, a lease operator for Texaco, died Monday, Nov. 3, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with the Rev. David Ring III officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Wichita, Kan., and moved to Odessa from Monahans in 1958. He was a member of Highland United Methodist Church.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Jane Busby Butts of Odessa; sons, Craig Butts of Wichita Kan., and Mark Butts of Dallas; brother, H.G. Butts and E.L. Butts, both of Seattle, Wash.; and five grandchildren.

Manuel DeAnda

MONAHANS - Manuel P. DeAnda, 78, a retired employee with the City of Monahans, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 1997, at Ward Memorial Hospital.

Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. today at St. John's Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Catholic Church in Monahans. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.

He was born in Presidio and was a longtime resident of Monahans. He was a Navy veteran and a Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Manuel DeAnda Jr. of Freeport, Ruben DeAnda of Odessa, David DeAnda of Austin, Manuel Jr. DeAnda of Anchorage, Alaska, and Johnny DeAnda of Moses Lake, Wash.; daughters, Alice Deras and Sylvia Martinez, both of Odessa and Licha Vela and Carolina Garcia, both of Moses Lake, Wash.; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
