Nelda Coleman
MIDLAND — Nelda K. Coleman, 95, of Midland died Sunday, May 12, 2002, at her residence.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at I.O.O.F. cemetery in Norman, Okla. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church in Midland with the Rev. Steve Wilkins officiating. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.
She was born in Indian Territory, which later became the state of Oklahoma. She was a Prague, Okla, resident before moving to Midland 55 years ago.
SURVIVORS: A niece, Patricia A.H. Bush of San Antonio; two great-nieces; and a great-nephew.

Ceferino Garcia
ODESSA — Ceferino A. Garcia, 74, of Odessa, a retired chemical plant operator, died Saturday, May 11, 2002, at his residence.
Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev.Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Martinez Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Terlingua. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Eva Garcia of Odessa; sons, Charlie Garcia, Ceferino “Billy” Garcia Jr. and Joe H. Garcia, all of Odessa; daughters, Mary Ann Rodriguez and Nelda McGuire, both of Odessa; brothers, Felix Garcia and Isabel Garcia, both of Artesia, N.M.; sisters, Isabel “Chabela” Trevino and Feliciana “Chana” Huerta, both of Artesia, N.M., Flora Garcia and Margie Rodriguez, both of Pittsburg, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Sue Hirsch
MIDLAND — Lila Sue Caruthers Hirsch, 78, of Midland, a former Humble Oil and Gas employee, died Saturday, May 11, 2002, at Midland Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Chapel of First Presbyterian Church. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.
She was born in New Orleans, La. She was a resident of Midland and Fort Worth before moving back to Midland in 1969. She was Presbyterian.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Nolan Hirsch of Midland; son, Victor Nolan Hirsch of League City; daughters, Melissa Hirsch of Odessa and Cathy Hirsch of Greencastle, Ind.; and six grandchildren.

Earl Nesbit
GONZALES — Earl Dixon Nesbit, 42, of San Antonio, a Latin and social studies teacher, died Saturday, May 11, 2002.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Arrangements by Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
He was born in Odessa.
SURVIVORS: Brothers, Keith Bush of Waco and Tommy Sandlin of Rosenberg.

Robert Thornhill
ODESSA — Robert A. “Bob” Thornhill, 77, of Odessa, a retired right-of-way agent for Texas Electric Service Co., died Sunday, May 12, 2002, at Hospice House.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
He was born in Globe, Ariz. He was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, May Thornhill of Odessa; sons, Larry Thornhill and Bobby Thornhill, both of Odessa and Ronny Thornhill of New Home; sister, Phyllis Taylor of Albuquerque, N.M.; and 10 grandchildren.

Eddie Turner
ODESSA — Eddie “Skip” Alex Turner, 60, of Midland, a CRNA, died Saturday, May 11, 2002, at his residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
He was a Navy veteran.. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Phyllis Turner; sons, Tommy Riley of Robert Lee, Terry Turner of Midland and Eddie Turner of Lovington, N.M.; daughters, Teresa Hall of Odessa, Alexia Sears of Midland and Stacey Turner of San Angelo; brothers, Bob Riley of Odessa; Bill Riley and Chuck Riley, both of California; and 11 grandchildren.

Johnna Wilkerson
ODESSA — Johnna Jean Wilkerson, 40, of Odessa, a Bobby Cox Co. employee, died Friday, May 10, 2002, in Midland County.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Riley officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Perryton and moved to Odessa in 1970. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Mitchell Wilkerson of Odessa; son, Jonathan Medlin of Odessa; stepson, Brandon Wilkerson of Odessa; stepdaughters, Tanisha Stevens and Keesha Wilkerson, both of Odessa; parents, Bill Allen of Odessa and Chuck and Mary Griffin of Wichita, Kan.; sister, Stephanie Todd of Midland; and a grandchild.

ODESSA — Joyce D. Estes, 70, of Odessa died Sunday, May 12, 2002, at Hospice House.
Services are pending with Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

CRANE — Pearl Mills, 83, of Crane died Sunday, May 12, 2002, at Crane Memorial Hospital.

ODESSA — Derwana McDaniels, 26, of Odessa, died Sunday, May 12, 2002.
Services are pending with Martinez Funeral Home.

Juanita Lucas
WICHITA FALLS — Graveside services for Wanda “Juanita” Scarborough Lucas, 95, a former Wichita Falls resident, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2002, at Crestview Memorial Park with the Rev. William Rohlmeier, pastor of First Church of the Nazarene in Grand Prairie, officiating. Services are under the direction of Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lucas died Monday, July 1, 2002, in Odessa. She was born June 14, 1907, in Gordon and had lived in Wichita Falls for 50 years and in Odessa for 25 years. She was a beautician and a homemaker. Juanita Scarborough and C.A. Lucas were married July 28, 1929, in Wichita Falls. He preceded her in death March 31, 1990.
She is survived by a daughter, Nita Sampley and son-in-law Troy Sampley of Odessa; a son, Allen A. Lucas of Grand Prairie; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Memorials may be made to Odyssey Health Care, 2651 John Ben Shepperd Parkway Blvd., Building 4, Suite B, Odessa, Texas, 79761.

U.M. Tadlock III
NOVATO, Calif. — U.M. Tadlock III, age 48, of Novato, Calif., passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at a Novato hospital.
He was born Aug. 5, 1953, in Odessa to U.M. and Marcia Tadlock. He attended Odessa High School, Sul Ross State University and Abilene Christian University. He was a building contractor in California. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
His mother preceded him in death.
Survivors include his father, U.M. Tadlock Jr. and wife Elaine of Odessa; a son, Wesley Austin Tadlock of Illinois; and a daughter, Tara Lawrence of Dallas.
We would like to thank everyone for the many expressions of sympathy given to us for the loss of our dear son, U.M. Tadlock III, as he’s now at rest with the Lord but missed so very much. U.M. Tadlock family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Keaton’s Redwood Chapel in Novato and Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Odessa.

Kathelyn ‘Kathy’ Wranosky
ODESSA — Kathelyn “Kathy” Wranosky, 86, beloved mother, grandmother and great-mama, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born Aug. 16, 1915, in Fairview to Stella and Herman Tanneburger.
She was a homemaker, a good cook and a mean bridge player.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Dru Wranosky of Halstead, Kan.; daughter and son-in-law, Lina and Larry Murray of Odessa; five grandchildren, Loren Wranosky of El Dorado, Kan., Tamra Schwartz of Halstead, Kan., Damon Wranosky of Wichita, Kan., Brian Pool and Rachael Pool of Odessa; and six great-grandchildren, Zack Wranosky of Wichita, Kan., Cory Schwartz and Cacee Schwartz of Halstead, Kan., Tori, Alexx and Erin Wranosky of El Dorado, Kan.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Paul Weymouth officiating. Interment will follow at the Monahans Memorial cemetery.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
