Vernon Carroll Blum, 84, passed away April 5, 2016 in Brenham. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, April 8, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church, with Pastor Pat Lehrer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Richard and Rosa Blum of Burton; daughters Anna Herrington and husband Rex of College Station, and Helen Schulte of Greenvine; grandchildren: Rachel (Drew) Robertson, Rebecca (Mark) Dupre, Dale Herrington, Ben (Margaret) Herrington, Joshua Herrington, Stephanie Schulte, Stacy Schulte, and Jeremy and Sasha Schulte; great-grandchildren: Rylee Robertson, Raegan Robertson, Xavier Schulte, Tyrone Schulte, D’Mitry Schulte, Aiden Schulte, Sydnee Schulte, Jaxon Schulte, Isis Schulte, Trent Schulte, and Omarion Schulte. Other surviving relatives are sister-in-law and brother-in-law Beverly and Carlos Cardenas, and sisters-in-law Edith Brummett and Violet Brummett, as well as a brother-in-law, Tommy Minchew. Mr. Blum was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Ann Blum; Ed and Marie Blum, Harvey and Mabel Blum, Judy and Linda Blum, Vernon C. Blum, Jr., and Randy Schulte. Edith Lena Pfeiffer
Edith Lena (Lehmann)Pfeiffer was born Feb 9, 1915, the daughter of John Henry Lehmann and Anna Jahnz Lehmann at home in the New Prospect community, Lee Co, Ledbetter, Texas. Edith’s life ended on March 3l, 2016 at her residence near Carmine. She lived an active life for more than 101 years. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, April 4, 2016 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top, with Pastor John David Nedbalek officiating. Burial will follow in the Carmine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday evening at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton. Edith is survived by her daughter Jeanette and her husband Fritz Schoenst, grandchildren Sue Schoenst and Kim Sternadel, Staci and husband Nick Brailas and one Brother-in-law Bennie Pfeiffer along with numerous nieces, nephews and many greats. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters and their husbands, namely, Annie Hees (Herbert), Marie Schramm(Frank), Hilda Hermann, Leona Spitzenberger (Paul) and Alma Breddin (Edwin)plus her aunts and uncles and her in-laws, namely, Charlie and Elsie Pfeiffer, Alex and Mamie Pfeiffer, Bruno and Tekla Pfeiffer, Rena and Alfred Mertz, Betty and Muff Pfeiffer. Evelyn S. Klausmeyer, 81, wife of Elgin Klausmeyer, passed away March 31, 2016 in Brenham. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 3, 2016 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham, with Pastors Phil Fenton and Brianna Merkle officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Survivors include her husband, Elgin Klausmeyer; sons and daughters-in-law Randy and Pat Klausmeyer, and Mark and Connie Klausmeyer, all of Brenham; grandchildren: Amy Lynn Klausmeyer and special friend, Joe Kulcak; Nikki Renee Klausmeyer and fiancé Calvin King; Kristen Nicole Schroeder and husband Adam, and Kayla Beth Klausmeyer and special friend, Lance Taylor; sisters-in-law Janet Sander and Flora Dell Marek; nieces and nephews Carol Ann Schuey, Regan Scott Sander, and Deborah Sander. Linda Ott Bartels
Linda Ott Bartels, age 89 and the widow of Idie Bartels, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at her home in Shelby, Texas. Linda Bartels is survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Royce and Barbara Bartels, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special family friends Chase Franklin, Faye, Emmitt Jr., Emmitt III, Emmitt IV Schultz, Linda Parsons, and Debbie and Mike Byrd. Visitation for Linda Bartels will be Wednesday, March 30 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2016 in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Raymond Lynn Zimmermann, academic adviser and Lutheran minister, died Thursday, March 24, at the age of 84. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg, with Pastor Denise Seymour officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Survivors include his wife, Carra Zimmermann of Burton; children, Rebeca Zimmermann and husband Donn Friedman, Jennifer Zimmermann and Jeffrey Zimmermann and wife Yvonne Zimmermann; grandchildren, Zev Friedman, Justin Zimmermann, Lauren Zimmermann, Ali Roberts, Eli Friedman, Rachel Zimmermann, Jaycee Seago, Jeffrey Zimmermann and Jace Zimmermann. Theodore Naumann, Jr.
Theodore Naumann, Jr. Passed away March 20, 2016, at St. Joseph in Bryan, TX with his family by his side. Theodore is preceded in death by parents Theodore & Henrietta Naumann, mother-in-law and father-in-law Florine Lilley and Ed & Faye Holub and brother-in-law Richard Lilley. Theodore leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years Beverly and 4 children, Trisha Greiffenstein and special friend Brian Powers, Theodore (Pete) and wife Meggan, John and wife Nicole, Hilary Koch and husband Dennis, and extended family Kim Greiffenstein. Grandchildren Kimberly & Chase Nelson, Taylor Krolczyk & special friend Derek Grimm, Jay Tanner Maxfield, Ethan and Braeden Greiffensein, Kameron Koch and Hali & Kinley Naumann. Great grandchildren are Aubrey Grimm, Emily Nelson and one to be born in May. Beloved pets Taco, Rico and Lucy are missing Theodore. Quincy H. Linnstaedter, Jr., 86, passed peacefully on March 16, 2016 at Brenham Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services for Quincy H. Linnstaedter are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, March 21, 2016 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Rev. Jack Meeker officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Agnes Elaine McKean Dorow
In the stillness and quietness of the night, Agnes Elaine McKean Dorow passed away in the comfort of her home on Saturday, March 12, 2016. She departed this earth as we know it and raced toward the heavens to meet her Lord and Savior. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 10:00am at The First United Methodist Church in Brenham, with Pastor Jon Stouffer officiating. Burial will take place at 2:30pm the at family plot at Staples Cemetery in Staples, Texas. The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Survivors include her loving husband H.A. “Buddy” Dorow of Brenham. She will be greatly missed by her children, daughter Lynda Elaine Sherman of San Angelo, daughter and son-in-law Debra Ann and Richard (Rick) Eckert of Greenvine, son and daughter-in-law John Henry and Susan Veselka Dorow of Lubbock, and son Bob Allen Dorow of Houston. Brother and sister-in-law Richard Allen and Chris Boyce McKean of Austin, and sister-in-law Clara Dorow Deavers of Portland. Her grandchildren who meant the world to her: Ashley and Ashton Anderson of Abilene, Andrew and Tatum Dorow of Houston, Lacy Eckert of Greenvine, Luke Eckert of Greenvine, Lillie “Ann” Cook, Debra Gatlin, Henry Gatlin, Michael Gatlin and Reed Yandell of San Angelo. Funeral services for Lupe Villegas, 59 of Lincoln, Texas are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Giddings, Texas with Father James Olnhausen officiating. Burial will follow in the Giddings City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 7:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Lupe passed away the evening of Monday, August 22, 2011 at her home in Lincoln following a battle with cancer.
Maria Guadalupe Vera de Villegas was born on January 11, 1952 in Jalisco, Mexico to Pedro Antonio Vera and Sara Escalante Vera. She married Fausto Villegas in 1979 in Smithville, Texas. She was a seamstress and was employed by Hughes Manufacturing in Giddings.
Lupe was preceded in death by her father, Pedro Antonio Vera and a brother, Jesus Vera.
She is survived by her husband, Fausto Villegas Sr. of Lincoln; two sons, Ismael & Yesenia Villegas of Lincoln and Fausto & Judith Villegas Jr. of San Antonio; daughter, Carmen Villegas of Giddings; grandson, Manuel Mata Jr. of Giddings; two granddaughters, Mireya Mata and Marisol Mata both of Giddings; her mother, Sara Escalante Vera of Madisonville; four brothers, Ascenciona & Rosa Vera, Leopaldo & Ramona Vera, Mario & Martha Vera and Macanio & Oralia Vera all of Madisonville; three sisters, Inez & Santos Garcia, Consuela & Eusebio Vanaelos and Delores & Inez Mesa all of Mexico and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ascencion Vera, Leopaldo Vera, Mario Vera, Macario Vera, Manuel Mata and Aurelio Garcia.
