Doris Jean Jankowiak
Doris Jean Jankowiak, 63, wife of Johnnie Jankowiak, passed away Sept. 4, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 8, 2014 at Christ Lutheran Church, with Pastors Mark Groves and Walter Schindehette officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Survivors include her husband, Johnnie Jankowiak of Brenham; daughters Chandra Jankowiak of Austin, Christy Doss and husband Brad of Caldwell, and a grandson, Damian Doss. She is survived by a special niece, Kelly Rybarski, who assisted in caring for Doris during her illness. She is also survived by brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Joyce Ann. Funeral arrangements for Doris Jean Jankowiak are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.

Roberta Jean (Padgett) Avants
Roberta Jean (Padgett) Avants, age 69 of Brenham, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in her home. Survivors include Daughters Tammy (Alfred) Mechwitz of Brenham; Laura (Paul) Leifeste of San Angelo; son Lawrence (Lisa) Greer of Burton; daughter Virginia (Damon) Gross of Justin, TX; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. A memorial service is planned to celebrate her life on what would have been her 70th birthday. The service will be held Friday, September 5, 2014, at 4:00 p.m., at Brenham Church of Christ with Doug Hall officiating. Morris Marvin Wunderlich
Morris Marvin Wunderlich, 81, husband of Joyce Wunderlich, died Sept. 2, 2014 at Scott and White Hospital in Brenham. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, September 5, 2014 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Rehburg, with Pastor Denise Seymour officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Malkey Wunderlich, of Burton; sons Roy Mercer and wife Wanda of Rosenberg; Kenton W. Wunderlich of Klein, Rodney Wunderlich and wife Lou of Tomball, Jasper Mercer of Brenham, and daughter, Pamela Gomez of Syracuse, NY. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as special friends Mary Andujo and Heather Andujo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Emma Wunderlich, and his sisters, Bernice Dyer, Irma Kieke, Vera Brau, and Esther Schlabach. Ruth E. (Schroeder) McWilliams
Ruth E. (Schroeder) McWilliams, 84, of Brenham and formerly of College Station, the widow of Roy C. McWilliams, died Saturday, August 30, 2014, at Brenham Rest Home. Funeral services for Ruth McWilliams will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3 at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville with Pastor Pat Lehrer officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday, Sept. 2 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Prior to the funeral service on Wednesday, a light lunch will be served beginning at 1 p.m. in the Family Life Center of Zion Lutheran Church. Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Beverly and Larry Koehler and Linda and Roy Boehnemann; great-nieces and great-nephews, Chris and Stephanie Koehler, Cindy Koehler, Michelle and Gil Janner and Pam Boehnemann; five great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and aunt, Minnie (Graeber) Heldmann of Caldwell. Lilburn Meier
Lilburn Meier, age 82 of the Welcome Community, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Baylor Scott & White, Brenham. Mr. Meier farmed and ranched all of his life. He also, was employed by Steadley Company for 33 years, 20 of those years as a truck driver. Surviving loving family includes: wife of 56 years, Dolores Hurtig Meier; sons, Lyle C. Meier and wife Bonnie, Kenan “Ken” B. Meier and wife Tracy; daughter, Lana B. Meier; grandchildren, Linsey Renee Meier and Joe Ryan Meier; sisters, Loraine Glenewinkel and Viola Merz; sisters-in-law, Hildegard Brinkmeyer and Mabel H. Winkelmann. Visitation with the Meier family will be this evening, September 1st from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral services for Lilburn Meier will be tomorrow, September 2nd at 10:00 a.m. in Welcome Lutheran Church with Pastor John Sutton, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Charlie E. Rodenbeck
Charlie E. Rodenbeck, 90, the husband of Bernice Dippel Rodenbeck, passed away August 22, 2014 in Brenham. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Pastor Phil Fenton officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Charlie was born December 5, 1923 in Brenham, the son of Charlie and Lydia Lueck Rodenbeck. Baptized Dec. 26, 1923 in the home of his grandparents, he was confirmed Sept. 5, 1935 at St. Peter Lutheran Church of Gay Hill. Charlie was educated in the Cedar Hill School. He served in the U. S. Air Force from Feb. 1943 to August 1945, in the European Theater. On Jan. 5, 1947, he was married to the love of his life, Bernice Dippel at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church by Rev. Theo Strang. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Bernice; children: Brenda and husband Ron Stone of Howe, Texas; Carl and wife Deanna of Zachary, LA.; grandchildren: Amanda and husband Jason Grosze, Megan and fiancé Luke Atchley, and Connor Rodenbeck. He is also survived by a brother, Elton Rodenbeck; in-laws Alvin Dippel, Delores Winkelmann and husband LeeRoy, Dorothea Dippel, Janice Kapner and husband Sidney, Elaine Dippel, and Melvin Schaefer. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother Lonnie, brothers and sisters-in-law, Ervin and Dorothy Mae Rodenbeck, and Melvin and Martha Rodenbeck; father-in-law and mother-in-law Walter and Elsa Dippel; brothers-in-law Donald Dippel and Eugene Dippel, and sister-in-law, Alice Schaefer. Charlie cherished the time he served as custodian of St. Paul’s Christian Day School and the church, taking great pride in his work. He also served on the church council and usher teams. Memorials may be directed to St. Pauls T.V. Ministry, Hospice Brazos Valley, or to the Senior Center of Brenham. The family wishes to thank Brenham Nursing and Rehab Center for the loving and tender care given Charlie while he was a patient there, and the office staff for their guidance and loving understanding. Leslie Edward Dockal
Leslie Edward Dockal, 71, of Cade Lake, passed away at his home on August 16, 2014. A Memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday August 23, 2014 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. Leslie is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Bruce A. Dockal, of Tustin, California; daughter, Cherie Lyn Dockal of Caldwell; brother-in-law, Johnny W. Phillips and wife Beverly Ann, of Frelsburg, Texas; grandchildren, Johnny Lee Sanders, Austyne Lane Sanders, Alannah Ranee Sanders; and also Ed Kirkland, Jr. of White Oak, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Strickland Funeral Home of Caldwell.

Jerry Blum
Jerry Blum, 72, of Houston, passed away on Monday, August 18th at Cy Fair Medical Center. Survivors include his niece, Sheila Bain and her husband Glenn, and nephew, Kevin Reuter and his wife Lana: great-nieces Jamie Goehring and husband Clay, Amy Dooley and husband Todd, Abbey Reuter: great nephews Brian Bain and Logan Reuter. He is also survived by several cousins and great aunts and will be missed by many friends and customers. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Shirley Reuter, brother-in-law, Loyd Reuter and good friend Edrol Wagner. Visitation will be on Friday, August 22nd from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Foehner Funeral Home in Burton. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at St. Johns United Church of Christ in Burton with Pastor Glen Schoeneberg officiating. Edward Nobra, 85, of Fayetteville, TX passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014. He is survived by wife, Bernice, of 44 years, son, Jay Nobra (Jennifer) of College Station; daughter Patricia Rabb (Thomas)) of Shelby, son, Dale Rudloff of Conroe; sister, Bernice Pierson of Ft. Worth; brother, Daniel Nobra (Phyllis) of Cypress. Nine grandchildren – Bailey Nobra, Jackson Nobra; Stephane Engstrom (Rudy); Rebecca Wooten (Shawn), Michelle Etzel (Clint); Stephen Rabb, Natalie Rudloff, Brandon Rudloff (Karen); Brian Rudloff (Meredyth); Great-grandchildren – Dylan Haveriah (Mindy), Kaitlin Haverlah, Weston Haverlah, Lillit Wooten and Olivia Etzel. Great great granddaughter – Brailee Haverlah; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 11:00am-8:30pm at Koenig & Strickland Zaskoda Chapel, 2280 Main Street., Industry, TX. Family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30pm. Frank Thomas Bielski, Jr., 79, of Waller, passed away at his residence on August 15, 2014. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 10 am at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Chappell Hill, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Father Jozef Musiol will officiate. Visitation will begin Monday, August 18 at 6 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. A Rosary is scheduled at 7 p.m., with Msgr. Benedict Zientek, Celebrant. Carolyn S. Kujawa
Carolyn S. Kujawa, age 81 of Washington, Texas, passed away Monday, August 11, 2014 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Carolyn Kujawa’s surviving family includes: sister, Dorothy Laskoskie of Hempstead; nieces and nephews and their spouses, Thomas and Mary Laskoskie of Bryan, Dorothea and Glenn Meinecke of Brenham, Eugene and Diane Laskoskie of Chappell Hill, Linda and Jerry Rogers of Chappell Hill, Helen and Alvin Gurka of Chappell Hill, Peggy and Robert Laake of Huntsville; numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, August 13th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial for Carolyn S. Kujawa will be Thursday, August 14th at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with Rev. Jozef Musiol as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery. David Alan Wesneski age 25 passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2014 in College Station, Texas. David is survived by mom and dad Donnie and Debbie Wesneski; sister Kristi Wesneski Harris (husband Gregory) their children Lane, Presley, Paige; sister Angela Wesneski; paternal grandparents Mary and Steve Wesneski; material grandparents Theresa and Charles Goedrich; aunt and uncles Shirley Atwood (husband Danny), Steven Ray Wesneski, Darren Goedrich (wife Michelle), Donna Jadloski (husband Mark); great aunts Anne Wesneski and Dorothy Wesneski. A celebration of life for Arnold Peters Jr. of Brenham are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, August 9, 2014 at St. Johns United Church of Christ in Burton, with Rev. D. Allen Cearley officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Burton. Visitation will be from 5 pm until 7 pm Friday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Surrounded by his family Arnold, the husband of Janette Mueller Peters, entered the Gates of Heaven on August 5, 2014 at College Station Medical Center at the age of 71. Survivors include his wife, Janette Peters; father, Arnold Peters, Sr., both of Brenham; son, Kevin Peters of Lockhart; daughters and sons-in-law Kimberly and Jeff Shows of Dime Box, and Kayla and Jason Romine of College Station; grandchildren: Cameron Peters and Carly Shed, Caleb Peters, Kacey and Derrick Smith, Kelly Shows, Ashleigh Romine, and Amanda Romine; great-grandchildren: Kyleigh Peters and Jaxson Smith; sister and brother-in-law Charlotte and Dennis Allen of Kosse; sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-laws Dorothy and Ben Allen Poncik, Linda and Mike Wilke, and Nancy and Dale Guelker, all of Burton; father-in-law and mother-in-law Fritz A. and Adonie Mueller as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lydia Peters, brother-in-law Ronnie Roemer, and a great-niece, Peyton Guelker.
