Marguerite Booth, 98 of Brenham and the widow of George C. Booth, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 in Brenham. Survivors include granddaughters, Cindy Duty and husband Gene, their children Brittany and Hunter; Tricia Kesterson and husband Garrett, their daughter Elizabeth and great nephew Bryce Pflughaupt. Visitation will be Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel. A graveside service is 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 2, at Prairie Lea Cemetery with Rev. Alton Alvin Namken
(February 25, 1924 - February 5, 2012)
U.S. Veteran
Alton Alvin Namken was born on February 25, 1924 in Giddings, Texas to Henry & Selma (Fischer) Namken. He was baptized on March 16, 1924 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings by Rev. William Mueller and confirmed on March 12, 1940 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church by Rev. William Mueller. His confirmation verse was 1 Cor. 6:20 "Ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and obtained the rank of Private First Class before receiving his Honorable Discharge on November 19, 1946. Alton was united in marriage to Esther Mittasch on November 25, 1948 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings. Their marriage was blessed with five children, Eugene "Gene", Linda, Kay, Debbie & Ronnie. Alton was a lifelong farmer who served on the board of directors of the Lee County Farmers Co-Op and as a committeeman for the Lee County Farm Service Agency. He was an active member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings where he had served on the church council and as an usher. Alton was a member of the VFW Post 4475 and the American Legion Post 276 in Giddings. He enjoyed riding his tractor and gator and being around his grandchildren.
Alton passed away during the early morning hours of Sunday, February 5, 2012 at St. Mark's Medical Center in La Grange at the age of 87.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Selma Namken; granddaughter, Jessica Oltmann; two brothers, John & his wife, Berndine Namken and Leroy Namken; sister, Ruby Markert; brothers-in-law, Herbert Zoch, Leonard Faske, Gilbert Mittasch, Herman Mittasch and Herbert Mittasch and sisters-in-law, Junell Mittasch and Elsie Mittasch.
Alton is survived by his wife of 63 years, Esther Namken of Giddings; five children, Gene & Valerie Namken of Giddings, Linda & Ronnie Oltmann of Giddings, Kay & Chris Oltmann of Allen, Debbie & David Peterson of Lexington and Ronnie & Stacy Namken of Giddings; ten grandchildren, Amber & Seth Spacek of Lincoln, Casey & Louise Namken of Manheim, Brandon Oltmann of Giddings, Heather Sowders of Giddings, Jonathan & Sarah Oltmann of Dallas, Justin & Tricia Peterson of Temple, Jordan & Missy Peterson of College Station, McKenna Namken of Giddings, Brooks Namken of Giddings and Leighton Namken of Giddings; five great-grandchildren, Rayghan Stewart of Lincoln, Ashby Spacek of Lincoln, Kennedi Namken of Manheim, Shiloh Sowders of Giddings and Kyle Oltmann of Dallas; two sisters, Lorene Zoch of Giddings and Lillian Faske of Houston; two brothers, Albert Namken of Giddings and Robert & Virginia Namken of Smithville; sisters-in-law, Billie Joe Namken of Houston, Ruth Mittasch of Giddings and Laura Mittasch of Giddings; three brothers-in-law, Edward Markert of Giddings, Willie Mittasch of Giddings and John Mittasch of Houston as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Jeremy Walloch officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Giddings American Legion Post 276 will follow in the Giddings City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 6, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, February 7, 2012 from 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. A prayer service will be held Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and the family will be present for visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Casey Namken, Brandon Oltmann, Jonathan Oltmann, Justin Peterson, Jordan Peterson and Brooks Namken.
Memorials may be made to the Martin Luther Lutheran Dayschool, 573 North Main Street, Giddings, Texas 78942 or to the charity of one's choice.

Dolores J. Oberrender
Dolores J. Oberrender passed away on October 29, 2015 at her daughter Karen’s home in College Station, Texas at the age of 83. Dolores is survived by: four children and spouses, David and wife Carol of Georgetown, Karen Miller and husband Richard of College Station, Carl and wife Laura of Temple, and Ernest and wife Julie of Brenham; grandchildren, Michael and wife Morgan Oberrender of Dallas, Jacob, and Lauren Oberrender of Georgetown; Mason Miller and girlfriend Rika Williams of Port Lavaca; Claira, Emily, Anna, and Robert Tang Oberrender of Temple; Krystal Oberrender and fiancé Chris Sodolak of Sealy; Sarah and husband Trevor Zwahr, Allan and Jonathan Oberrender, Ryan Goerlitz and girlfriend Hanna Hendrickson and Jamie Goerlitz all of Brenham; great-grandchildren, Chloe and T.J. Zwahr of Brenham; niece Kathy Holtkamp; nephew Charles Holtkamp and wife Mary of Brenham; two great-nieces and two great-nephews, along with numerous cousins, friends and special grand-pups Winnie, Tigger and Pebbles. A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Welcome Lutheran Church of Welcome with Pastor John Sutton, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael, Jacob, Allan, and Jonathan Oberrender, Mason Miller, Ryan Goerlitz, Trevor Zwahr, and Chris Sodolak. Harvey Henry Merten, 83, of Brenham, died October 28, 2015, at Scott and White Hospital in Brenham. Funeral services for Harvey Merten will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 31, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastor Phillip Fenton and Pastor Bri Merkle officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Gladys Neumann Brauner
Gladys Neumann Brauner, 87, died October 26, 2015 at Brenham Rest Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church in Zionsville, with Pastor Pat Lehrer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Gladys is survived by a grandson: Justin Wayne Brauner; great-grandchildren: Payton Elizabeth Brauner and Jacob Wayne Brauner; brothers Alvin Neumann of Humble; sisters-in-law Emma Bell Neumann of Brenham, and Lorene Neumann of Bryan; nephews Larry, Dennis and Mark Neumann; nieces: Jeraldine Weaver, Pauline Bradshaw, Linda Goerger and husband Van, Debra Canady and husband John, and Cynthia Beckendorf and fiancé Vincent Hensen. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Edwin Brauner; son, Wayne Edward Brauner, and brothers Johnnie Neumann and Raymond Neumann. James Sheppard Clay
James Sheppard Clay, 59, of Schulenburg, TX, passed away on October 27 at his residence. A graveside service for James Clay will be held Friday, October 30 at 10:00 a.m. at Independence Cemetery with Pastor Jill Vivroux officiating. Visitation with the family and friends will be Thursday, October 29 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Esther (Winkelmann) Dahmann
The Lord called home His faithful servant, Esther (Winkelmann) Dahmann, 87, of Brenham, on Sunday, October 25, 2015. Her family was by her side. Funeral services for Esther Dahmann will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 29, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill, with Pastor Kyle Merkle officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Karen Dahmann, Douglas and Diane Dahmann, and Carl Dahmann; daughter, Judy Grote; grandchildren: Danielle and Justen Aguillon, Zachary and Minta Dahmann, William and Mollie Grote, Amanda and Chad Dismukes, Drew and Renee Dahmann, Dylan and Katherine Dahmann, Derek Dahmann, Christopher and Donya Dahmann, Stephen Dahmann, Kristie Dahmann and special friend, Justen Babin; great-grandchildren: Alex and Cullen Grote, Audrey and Callie Dismukes, Jackson Dahmann, Isabelle and Levi Dahmann, Charlotte Dahmann, and Harper Babin; brothers and sisters-in-law: LeeRoy and Delores Winkelmann and Odell and June Winkelmann; sisters and brothers-in-law: Erline and Ernest Wellmann; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Albert Boeker and Lillie Mae Dahmann, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was also preceded in death by sisters and brothers-in-law Ida and Bill Schwartz, Anita and Henry Bender; brothers and sisters-in-law Reinhard and Myrtle Winkelmann, Raymond and Louise Winkelmann, Willie and Alita Winkelmann, Wilbert and Levirna Winkelmann; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Johnnie and Edna Dahmann, Woodrow Dahmann, Irene and Ervin Schroeder, Willie Mae Boeker, and Melvin Dahmann. Judith Lynn (Hovet) Mikeska
Judith Lynn (Hovet) Mikeska, 57, of Fayetteville, Texas passed away in the loving arms of her husband, children and grandchildren at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas at 1:59 pm on October 24, 2015. The celebration of Judy’s life will happen Wednesday evening October 28, 2015 at 6:30 PM at Wesley Brethren Church in Wesley, Texas. Guests are asked to bring a dish to share in a potluck meal and to partake in loving fellowship that Judy treasured so dearly. In place of flower arrangements, please bring small rose or sage bushes that can grow and live forever at her church in her beautiful memory. Judith was preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Virginia Hovet and her youngest brother Loren Hovet. Judith is survived by her devoted husband Glen Mikeska of Bleiblerville, Texas; her eldest siblings Jimmy Hovet, Leighton Hovet, and Annalee Crum. Betty Ann Folsom, 76, of Brenham, the widow of Paul Folsom, passed away on October 25, 2015, at her residence. A graveside service for Betty Ann Folsom will be held at 3:00pm, Wednesday, October 28, at National Cemetery at Nelsonville, with Pastor Michael Groseclose officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00pm, Tuesday, October 27 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Survivors include daughter Paula Page, son Stephen Folsom and wife Becky Folsom, all of Brenham; grandchildren Megan Kelm and husband Ryan, Timothy C. Lorena Schwarze Randermann
Lorena Schwarze Randermann, 93, of Brenham and the widow of Henry Randermann, Jr., died Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Scott and White Hospital in Brenham. Lorena and Henry were owners and operators of Randermann Grocery of Meyersville for over 60 years. Mrs. Randermann is survived by: her daughter, Janice Randermann McClendon and Charlie Schroeder; sister-in-law, Mary Randermann Franklin and her husband, Joe. Visitation with the Randermann family will be this evening from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral services for Lorena Schwarze Randermann will be held Wednesday, October 21st at 10:00 a.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Rev. Erbey Gonzales will officiate. Anne Louise Dallmeyer, 87, formerly of Burton, died on October 13, 2015, in Brenham Nursing and Rehab. She was the widow of Leon Dallmeyer. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Rehburg with Pastor Glenn Schoeneberg officiating.
