Marion Hairabedian
LAKE KATRINE, N.Y./COON VALLEY, Wis. - Marion Hairabedian, 76, of Lake Katrine, N.Y. and formerly of Coon Valley, Wis., died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997, in Kingston Hospital, Kingston, N.Y.
She was born Nov. 11, 1921, in Coon Valley, Wis., to the late Aldoph and Thea Moilien Lee. She married Barouyr Z. Hairabedian on Dec. 26, 1959. She was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Stout, Menomonie, Wis. She had been a home economics teacher at Butler University in Indianapolis, Washington State University, and Purdue. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, and a member of the Christian Women's Club; she was a volunteer for the Compeer Program through the Mental Health Assoc. of Ulster County. She was also on the board of directors of the Woodstock Chamber Orchestra.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Sona Lee Hairabedian of Lake Katrine; two sons, Jon R. Hairabedian of Shokan, N.Y. and David J. Hairabedian of Lake Katrine; three brothers, Selmer, Robert, and Burton Lee, all of Coon Valley, Wis., and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m., at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Kingston, N.Y. with Rev. Albert Ahlstrom, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston, N.Y. Friends may call at Keyser's Kingston Chapel on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. The family suggests that memorial contibutions be made to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer Memorial Fund in her memory. Keyser Funeral Service, Kingston Chapel, Kingston, N.Y. is handling arrangements for the family.

Helen E. Reinholdt
LA CROSSE/STEVENS POINT, Wis. - Helen E. Reinholdt, 96, of La Crosse and formerly of Stevens Point, Wis., died Wednesday, December 24, 1997, in Bethany St. Joseph Health Care Center. She was born on February 7, 1901, in Tomahawk, Wis. to Thomas and Exilda (Lambert) Kilroe. She married Richard T. Reinholdt on August 15, 1929.
She is survived by two sons, William J. (Marilyn) of La Crosse, Richard T. (Sylvia) of Monona, Wis., nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a nephew, Thomas J. Peterson, of Milwaukee, Wis. She is preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1949, five sisters, and two brothers.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph J. Rafacz will officiate, and burial will be in the St. Stephen's Catholic Cemetery, Stevens Point, on Monday at 11 a.m. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service. THe Woodruff Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Helen M. Schmitz
ONTARIO, Wis. - Helen M. Schmitz, age 85, of Ontario, Wis., died Sunday, December 21, 1997, in the Rolling Hills Nursing Home, Sparta, Wisconsin.
She was born March 4, 1912, in Kendall Wis., to James and Marie (Langsdorf) Sullivan. She was married to George Schmitz, April 13, 1932, in the St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she was still a member of the Altar Society.
Survivors include nine children, Leona (William) Jantz of Eau Claire, Wis., Joan (Richard) Pastula of Janesville, Wis., Shirley (Robert) Collins of Janesville, Wis., Gerald (Carol) Schmitz of Milwaukee, Wis., Richard (Julie) Schmitz of Janesville, Wis., Jeanice (Alex) Gabardi of Milwaukee, Wis., Karen (Otis) DeWitt of Ontario, Wis., Bernadette (Robert) Daggett of Cambridge, Wis., and Dolores (David) Stalsberg of Janesville, Wis.; 10 brothers and sisters: Lucille Schermerhorn, Myrtle Thomas, Dorothy (Clifford) Pipp, Caroline (Robert) Bertoline, Margaret (Sylvester) Laufenberg, Sister Gertrude Sullivan, Jane Glese, Marie (Harold) Brueggen, Thomas (Pat) Sullivan and Roger (Kay) Sullivan; 43 grandchildren; and 57 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George, in 1974; one sister; two brothers; two grandchildren; and one infant son, Joseph.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 23, 1997, at 11 a.m. in the St. Mary's Ridge Catholic Church. Father Kevin Louis will officiate. Friends and relatives are asked to call at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Ontario on Monday, December 22, 1997, from 6 to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 8 p.m. They may also call on the day of services at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Edward A. Adamski
PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. - Edward A. Adamski, age 73, of Prairie Du Chien, Wis., died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997, in Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse.
A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, in St. John's Catholic Church in Prairie Du Chien. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26 at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie Du Chien, where there will be a wake scripture at 8 p.m. A second memorial mass will also be scheduled at a later date in the Twin Cities area with interment following in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minn.

Richard J. Axtell
LA CRESCENT, Minn. - Richard J. Axtell, age 55, died in his home on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997. He was born December 20, 1942, in Kenosha, Wis., to Robert and Rosemary Axtell.
He is survived by his wife Susan; a daughter Catherine; two sons, David and Michael; a sister and two brothers.
Prayers, prior to cremation of the body, will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Dickinson Family Funeral Homes, 1425 Jackson Street, La Crosse.

Irene E. Kilburg
SUN PRAIRIE, Wis./EASTMAN, Wis. - Irene E. Kilburg, age 93, of Sun Prairie, Wis., and formerly of Eastman, Wis., died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997, in the Willows Nursing Home in Sun Prairie, Wis. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997, in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Eastman, Wis. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie Du Chien, where there will be a wake scripture at 8 p.m.

Ralph J. Konter
ARCADIA, Wis. - Ralph J. Konter, age 90, of Arcadia, Wis., died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997, at Franciscan Skemp Healthcare/Arcadia.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon, Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Arcadia. Spring burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery, Waumandee, Wis.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, at the Wozney Funeral Home, Arcadia, where there will be a 7 p.m. Rosary. Friends may also call from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Monica A. Gorman
Monica A. Gorman, 66, of La Crosse, passed away in her home on Christmas Day, December 25, 1997. She lost a long battle with cancer.
Monica was born on June 22, 1931, near Gays Mills to Vincent M. and Nellie M. (Moran) Murphy. She married Kenneth E. Gorman on July 30, 1953, at St. Phillips Catholic Church in Soldiers Grove, Wis. Monica was a natural musician and school teacher. Following college she taught at Tavera, Wis., and later taught in Oceanside, California, while Ken was serving with the U.S. Marine Corps. Monica retired in June of 1996 after being a para professional for twenty-two years at State Road School in La Crosse and other area schools. Monica enjoyed everything, including snowmobiling, being on the river and road trips. She made a million friends with her warm, kind smile and her genuine feeling for people. Monica dearly loved her grandchildren. She lived by the high standards that she had set for herself and those around her. She earned everyone's respect and will be especially missed by her family, friends and co-workers at State Road School.
Monica is survived by her husband, Ken; three daughters, Mary Joan (Michael) Bilot of La Crosse and Michelle T. (Ken) Morrison and Monica L. (Steven) Holman, both of La Crescent, Minn.; three sons, Mark A. (Michelle) Gorman of Valencia, Calif., Kenneth M. (Debra) Gorman of Onalaska, Wis., and Michael J. (Tamara) Gorman of Janesville, Wis.; fifteen beautiful grandchildren, Megan and Ryan Gorman, Joan, Maggie and Danny Bilot, Maureen, Lauren, Kelly and Ben Morrison, Sean, Kathryn and Kellen Gorman, Elizabeth and Kevin Holman and Sydney Gorman; five brothers, Joe (Margie) Murphy of Beaver Dam, Wis., Jerry (Kathleen) Murphy of Janesville, Wis., John (Joan) Murphy of Aurora, Colo., Jim (Linda) Murphy of Menomonee Falls, Wis., and Michael (Jamie) Murphy of Bellflower, Calif.; and two sisters, Marita Abdoo of Sun City, Ariz., and Theresa Murphy of Cuba City, Wis. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Katherine Flaten.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 29, 1997, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. The Revs. Michael Mertens and Michael Gorman will officiate. Entombment will be in St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum, Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse.
Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Monday from 10 to 10:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.

Ervin F. "Erv" Dummer
Ervin F. "Erv" Dummer, 74, of La Crosse, died Thursday, December 25, 1997, at Bethany St. Joseph Care Center.
He was born on June 7, 1923, in La Crosse to John and Ella (Klos) Dummer. He was a veteran of WWII and a member of the American Legion Post No. 52 of La Crosse. He was active as the Harbormaster of the La Crosse Pettibone Boat Club until the time of his death.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Helen Dummer of La Crosse; two nieces, Kathy Morley of Eau Claire and Kristi (Tim) McCabe of La Crosse; one nephew, Curt (Vicki) Dummer of South Sioux City, Nebraska; three great-nephews and four great-nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ernest Dummer.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 29, 1997, at 11 a.m. at the Woodruff Funeral Home, 4239 Mormon Coulee Road. The Rev. Floyd Dwyer will officiate and burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery, with military rites by the American Legion Post No. 52.
Friends may call at the Woodruff Funeral Home on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Memorials may be given to the American Legion Post No. 52 or of the donor's choice.

Irene Monica (Wardwell) Rochelle
Irene Monica (Wardwell) Rochelle, 80, died Wednesday, December 24, 1997, at Bethany-St. Joseph Care Center, La Crosse, Wis.
She was born March 11, 1917, in Trempealeau, Wis., to Arthur and Margaret (O'Keeffe) Wardwell. She graduated from Cathedral High School, Winona, in 1934. She worked as a beautician in Winona prior to her marriage to Phillip J. Rochelle on May 12, 1943, in Riverside, Calif. She lived in Trempealeau, Wis., for several years before moving to La Crosse in 1985.
She is survived by a son, Phil (Diane) of Richland, Wash.; a daughter, Margy of Trempealeau; and a sister, Rose Jacobson of Faribult, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who died August 22, 1979; a grandson; her parents; brothers, Hurrel and Mike; and sisters, Evelyn, Mary, Helen and Eileen.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Smith Mortuary, Galesville, Wis. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Trempealeau.
Friends and relatives are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday; and one hour prior to services on Tuesday in the mortuary.

Robert T. Ray
Robert T. Ray, 60, of La Crosse, died on Christmas Day, December 25th, 1997, at the Franciscan Skemp Nursing Home, La Crosse.
He was born on Easter Sunday, April 17, 1937, in Cataract, Wis., to George E. and Addie (Edmison) Ray. Robert graduated from Logan High School in 1957. He had worked for La Crosse Footwear, Allis Chalmers, Trane Company, La Crosse Cooler Company and American Hoist, St. Paul, Minn.
Robert is survived by six brothers and sisters, Della M. Stetzer of Blair, Wis., George T. Ray of La Crosse, Pearl L. Ray of La Crosse, Fred D. Ray of La Crosse, Rita E. (Burton) Andrus of La Crosse and John A. (Janet) Ray of Kendall, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Donald Ray; and a sister, Theresa Ray.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 29th, 1997, at 10:30 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman, Marian Chapel. The Rev. Robert J. Cook will officiate. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. A Vigil Service will be held Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m.
Memorials may be given to the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman.
