Scott M. Klimek
JESSUP, Md.ŸScott M. Klimek, 30, of Jessup, Maryland and formerly of Sparta, died Tuesday evening at his parents home in Sparta.
He was born in Sparta on April 4, 1967, the son of Casey and Lois (Miller) Klimek. He graduated from Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia, in 1985. He was united in marriage to Laurie Huffman in Arlington on August 8, 1986. He worked for Accu-Tech Corp. as an operations manager in Jessup, Maryland. He has been suffering from Lymphoma cancer since Nov. 13, 1996. He loved to golf.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, LeRoy and Irene Janes and his paternal grandparents, Janina and Joseph Klimek.
He is survived by his wife, Laurie; one son, Joshua Scott Klimek; his parents-in-law, Fred and Rosemary Huffman, Alexandria, Va.; his parents, Casey and Lois Klimek, Sparta; one brother, Jeff Klimek, Sparta.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sparta, with Rev. Mark Walljasper officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Page-Smith Funeral Home on Friday from 9 to 11 a.m.

Roland H. Lieder
CHEYENNE, Wyoming - Roland H. Lieder, 62, of Cheyenne, Wyoming died Friday, August 8, 1997 at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Cheyenne. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 1997 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm Veteran's Organizations. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday.
He is survived by his sons, Erich Lieder of San Diego, California, Kurt Lieder of Denver, Colorado, Kirk Lieder of Morano Valley, California; daughter, Lisa Lieder of Cheyenne, Wyoming; his mother, Florence Lieder of St. Peter; brothers, Bernie Lieder of Pine, Arizona, Allan Lieder of Winona; sister, Jane Lieder Rosengren of Brighton, Michigan; and eight grandchildren.
He was born on December 25, 1934 in Nicollet County. The Lieder family moved to La Crosse, Wisconsin in 1942 where Roland grew up, graduated from Central High School and La Crosse State Teachers College. He had been an electronics technician in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Chugwater Lodge 23 A.F. and A.M.; York Rite; Korein Shrine, Rawlins Temple; and the Cheyenne Shrine Club, Legion of Honor. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to: Scottish Rite Language Clinic in care of the Cheyenne Masonic Temple, 1820 Capitol Avenue, Cheyenne, Wyoming, 82001.

Fern M. Zunker
Fern M. Zunker, 91, formerly of 923 Charles Street, died at the Bethany-St. Joseph Care Center on Thursday, September 25, 1997. She was born January 3, 1906, in La Crosse, to Joseph and Metilda (Champgne) LaFleur. She married LeRoy Zunker on July 20, 1929 and he preceded her in death in 1972.
Prior to her retirement, she had worked for the Electric Auto-lite and Northern Engraving.
She is survived by a daughter, Joyce (Donald) Bland of La Crosse; two sons, Richard (Joan) Zunker of Fairbult, Minnesota and Thomas of La Crosse; seven grandchildren, Randy T. Blank, Susan M. (Richard) Sommer, Sandra K. (Richard) Rogge, David (Elizabeth) Zunker, Dianne (David) Ross, Debra (David) McKolskey, Daniel (Kim) Zunker; six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Short funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Reverend John Parcher will officiate and burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Dickinson Family Funeral Homes are assisting the family with the arrangements.

Linda M. Cox
ONALASKA, Wis. - Linda M. Cox, 46, of rural Onalaska, Wis. died on Wednesday, September 24, 1997 at her home. She was born on December 14, 1950 in Danville, Pennsylvania to William and Mabel (Dettery) Baskin.
Linda is survived by her husband, Charles; a daughter, Bonnie Cox at home; three sons, John of Cullman, Ala., Daniel (Shannon) of St. Helens, Ore. and William of Cullman, Ala.; four grandchildren, Anthony, James, Ayla and Cedric; her parents of Palmdale, Calif.; a brother, David (Vickie) Baskin of Lake Isabella, Calif.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Linda was a very kind, caring and loving person. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
Linda's body will be cremated. There will be no local services. Committal services and burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Gundersen Lutheran Hospice Program. The Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of Onalaska is in charge of arrangements.

Armand B. Blackdeer
BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis./ST. PAUL, Minn. - Armand B. Blackdeer, age 40, of St. Paul, Minn., and formerly of Black River Falls, died Wednesday, September 24, 1997 in Regions Hospital, St. Paul, Minn.
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 27, 1997 at 2 p.m. from the Blackdeer Homestead and burial will be in the Blackdeer Homestead Cemetery, both in rural Black River Falls. Friends may call at the Blackdeer Homestead on Saturday from 10 a.m. until services. The Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls, is serving the family.

Elenor M. Jiracek
Elenor M. Jiracek, 98, of 1222 Travis Street, died on Thursday, September 25, 1997 in her home. She was born on August 17, 1899 in La Crosse to Joseph and Mary (Mehren) Jiracek. Elenor had worked at Doerflinger's Department Store for over 50 years. She was a longtime member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and was a member of the St. Anne's Altar and Rosary Society. Elenor's hobby was gardening and she loved flowers.
She is survived by a sister Dorothy Jiracek of La Crosse; one niece, Kay Carlson of Hallock, Minn.; four grand-nieces and one grand-nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 29, 1997 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The Rev. Lawrence B. Berger will officiate. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Holy Trinity Catholic Church and Grade School. THe Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Ferris Farroh
GARY, Ind. - Mary Ferris Farroh, 83, of Gary, Indiana, formally of La Crosse, died Monday, September 22, 1997, at Methodist Hospital, Gary, Ind.
Mary was born on July 31, 1914, in La Crosse, to Tom and Freida Ferris. She attended the public schools in La Crosse and was very well liked by her friends as were her brothers and sisters and many cousins.
She married Shipley Farroh on December 3, 1946, in La Crosse. Shipley played professional football for many teams including the Pittsburg Steelers and the Cleveland Browns. Eventually they settled down in Gary, Indiana, and had one son, Thomas. Mary worked most of her life as a homemaker and made many dear friends in Gary.
Mary is survived by one son, Thomas Farroh; one brother, Albert Ferris of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sisters, Nellie Ferris, Madeline Markos, both La Crosse, Virginia Nimen of Canton, Ohio; many nieces and nephews. Mary is also survived by a very special goddaughter, Barbara Schuyler of Gary.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Shipley; a brother, Roy Ferris; two sisters, Anna Zakem, Ida (Ferris) Hoch, both of La Crosse.
Mary was a very special person and her memory will remain forever in our hearts.
The Geiser Funeral Home of Merriville, Indiana, is in charge of arrangements. The family requests that memorials may be given in Mary's name to the St. Elias Orthodox Church in La Crosse.

Arlan S. Jonas
HOLMEN, Wis. - Arlan S. Jonas, 59, of Holmen, died Tuesday, September 23, 1997 at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse. He was born on March 27, 1938 to Walter and Alvina (Erickson) Jonas. He attended Long Coulee Grade School and Holmen High School, where he graduated in 1956. Arlan worked at Outers Lab on Brice Prairie. He also farmed with his dad in Long Coulee. He worked in Kenosha briefly at American Motors and came back to the farm after the death of his mother in 1965. He farmed with his dad again until he went to work for the Holmen School District. He enjoyed sports and Bingo.
Arlan is survived by two brothers, Willard (Patricia) Jonas and La Verne (Madalyn) Jonas, all of La Crosse; nieces and nephews, Paul (Cara) Jonas of La Crosse, Joe (Dorreen) Foss of Tucson, Ariz., Erika Jonas of Los Angeles, Calif., Rachel Jonas of La Crosse and Emily Jonas of La Crosse; and a grandniece, Sara Jonas. His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be Monday, September 29 at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, Onalaska. The Rev. Ryan Aarestad will officiate. Burial will be at Long Coulee Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dickinson Family Funeral Home, 515 McHugh Road, Holmen, on Sunday from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Fern M. Zunker
Fern M. Zunker, 89, formerly of 923 Charles Street, died at the Bethany-St. Joseph Care Center on Thursday, September 25, 1997. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Brief funeral services were Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Reverend John Parcher officiated and burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Dickinson Family Funeral Homes assisted the family with the arrangements.

Tristan Jonathan Allan Niestrath
Tristan Jonathan Allan Niestrath, infant son of Sean and Rebecca (Westerholm) Niestrath of La Crosse, died on Wednesday, September 24, 1997 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse. He was born on Saturday, September 20, 1997. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister Gabriella, and a brother Stefan, both at home. He was preceded in death by a brother, Nathaniel.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. today at Church of Christ, 3506 S. 28th St., La Crosse. The Rev. Christopher Green will officiate.
