Marilyn Halverson
Born: 9/5/1929

McFarland - Marilyn Elaine Halverson, age 74, took her last breath on earth and her first breath in heaven, surrounded by her family on Monday, April 21, 2003 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. She was born on September 5, 1929 in Madison, a daughter of the late Fred and Lena (Dahl) Pauli. She married Edmund Halverson on October 7, 1947 in Dubuque, Iowa, and her loving husband preceded her in death on February 6, 1999. Marilyn was a cook for many years for the McFarland High School and many McFarland area restaurants, and most recently enjoyed working for the Green Lantern in McFarland, where she will be missed by everyone. She loved gardening, shopping, going to the ballpark in McFarland, rides in the car and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her six children, Gaylene (Andrew) Otteson of Madison, Linda Lund of McFarland, Craig “Butch” (Connie) Halverson of Madison, Donna Halverson (fiance Dane) of Albany, David (Barbara) Halverson of McFarland and Dean Halverson of McFarland; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her brother, Ellery Whiting of Palm Springs, CA; two sister-in-laws, Hattie Simpson of McFarland and Lorraine Swalheim of Deerfield; and is further survived by many loving friends and neighbors from Edwards Park. She was preceded in death by her husband; and her special aunt and uncle, Chet and Buddie. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at MCFARLAND LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5529 Marsh Rd., McFarland. Reverend Terry Peterson will officiate. Private family burial will follow in the Town of Dunn Burying Grounds. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. A luncheon will follow at the American Legion in McFarland. Marilyn was always about giving, never wanting to take.

Rollie H. Bultman

Services will be held at: Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at WESTERN KOSHKONONG LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2633 Church Rd., rural Stoughton
Visitation times are: Monday, December 29, 2003 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home
Stoughton - Rollie H. Bultman, age 74, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 26, 2003 at the Stoughton Hospital. He was born on January 7, 1929 in Madison, a son of the late Henry and Mary (Freund) Bultman. Rollie married Naomi Zemke on August 9, 1958 at the Western Koshkonong Lutheran Church. He was employed as a service technician for Wil-Kil Pest Control for many years. He is survived by his wife, Naomi of Stoughton; three children, Karen (Jerry) Cisewski of Oconomowoc, Randy (Valerie) Bultman of Deerfield and Brian Bultman of Simpsonville, SC; seven grandchildren, Jason, Kevin, Tara, Jacob, Rachel, Megan and Christopher; his sister, Irene (Harry) Walsvich of Monona; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends further survive. He was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence; and his sister, Esther Carpenter. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at WESTERN KOSHKONONG LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2633 Church Rd., rural Stoughton. Reverend Mark Marozick will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2003 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Sylvia J. Hanson

Services will be held at: 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at First Lutheran Church, 310 Washington St. in Stoughton
Visitation times are: Monday, December 29, 2003 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Sylvia J. Hanson, age 77, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Dec. 25, 2003, at UW Hospital. She was born in Stoughton on March 24, 1926, to Gerhard and Signa (Johnson) Anderson. After the death of her parents, she was raised by Mr. & Mrs. Gilbert Bjerke and graduated from Stoughton High School in 1944. She was married to Willard Hanson in 1946. Sylvia loved her family very much and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Sylvia is survived by: her husband of 57 years Willard; 2 sons- Brian (Janet), Sauk City and Kevin (Diana), Stoughton; 2 grandsons- Brett and Cole, Stoughton; and a sister-in-law, Janess Anderson, Stoughton. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Giles. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at First Lutheran Church, 310 Washington St. in Stoughton. Reverend William Lehman will officiate. Burial will follow in Lutheran Cemetery South in Stoughton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, December 29, 2003 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Stoughton/Chetek - Helen Isabelle Ebbert, age 93, died on Thursday, December 25, 2003 at Golden Hearts in Deerfield, WI. She was born on April 21, 1910, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, a daughter of the late Garfield and Florence (Austin) West. She was united in marriage to William R. Ebbert. Helen was a nurses aid and ran the Prairie Lake Resort in Chetek. She is survived by her son, William (Donna) Ebbert, Jr of Stoughton, a daughter, Arlette “Toby” Thomas of Hernando, Mississippi, 2 grandsons; Scott and Todd Ebbert, 4 granddaughters, Sheryl, Saundra, Jennifer, and Tanya, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William, and a daughter, June. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday December 29, 2003 at St. Paul’s Liberty Lutheran Church, 3494 Oak Park Road, Deerfield. Burial will be at Chetek cemetery. The family will greet friends on Monday, from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Special thank you to the relatives and friends at Golden Hearts for the exceptional care they gave to Aunt Helen. CAMBRIDGE - Idore M. Gulseth, age 73, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at the Columbus Community Hospital. He was born on November 13, 1930 in Madison, a son of the late Marvin and Ina (Norstad) Gulseth. He married Marilyn Olsen and together had two daughters, Desiree and Danette. Idore maintained the Norstad-Gulseth family farm his entire life, along with working for the Christiana Township in his earlier years. He married his second wife, Arlene Leikness, and together had two sons, Peter and John. Idore enjoyed playing basketball, hunting, gardening, cooking and watching nascar and football. He is survived by his two daughters, Desiree Gulseth and Danette Orr, both of Sheboygan; two sons, Peter and John Gulseth, both of Madison; five grandchildren, Zachary, Aimee, James and Jake Orr, all of Sheboygan and Ian Gulseth of Janesville; his brother, LaVern (Betty) Gulseth of McFarland; his sister, Valborg Kohler of Madison; his cousin, Eugene (Marylou) Lund of Deerfield; and is further survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his second wife, Arlene Gulseth on April 1, 2003. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 29, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at WESTERN KOSHKONONG LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2633 Church Rd., rural Stoughton. Reverend Mark Marozick will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2003 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Dad, you’ll always be with us. Lois E. Vike

STOUGHTON - Lois E. Vike, age 74, died Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at Stoughton Hospital following a brief illness. She was born November 22, 1929 at McFarland a daughter of the late Charles and Bessie (Lee) Suetmeier. She was educated in the McFarland Schools and graduated from Madison East High School in 1947. She married Nelson Vike, Sr. of Stoughton, December 20, 1947. Lois and Nels farmed in the Town of Dunkirk following their marriage. They owned and operated the Rockdale Bar, at Rockdale, the U-Name It Bar, and the Warehouse Liquors Store both in Stoughton. Through the years Lois loved all sports and was a loyal Cubs fan. She is survived by her: children-Nelson Vike, Jr. “Dooner”, Stoughton; Gregory (Sandra) Vike, St. Clairsville, Ohio; Dennis Vike, Stoughton; Teresa (Alan) Kelly, Sun Prairie; Clair “Chub” (Kristi) Vike, DeForest; Peter (Lori) Vike, Stoughton; Peggy (Jeff) Freidel, Deerfield; Tim (Tonya) Vike, Edgerton; 19 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 5 sisters-Charlotte Vodak, Chippewa Falls; Jean Dahlberg, Beloit; Shirley Driewer, McFarland; Helen Harloff, Madison; Jackie Swendsen, Afton, Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and by two sisters, Alice Kleine and Bernice Baker. Lois was a devoted mother, who loved to cook for her family and friends. She leaves behind a host of friends and a special friend Eugene ‘Beanie’ Bjoin. Services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2003 at 1:30 pm at First Lutheran Church, 310 Washington St., Stoughton. Pastor Eric Carlson will officiate. Private burial will be at the Wheeler Prairie Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church one hour before services at the church. Hugh “Greg” Lane

Hugh “Greg” Lane, age 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2003 at the Skaalen Home in Stoughton. He was born on January 2, 1926 in Wild Rose, a son of the late Hugh and Jane Lane. Greg served in the U. S. Navy Coastguard in the South Pacific during WWII. He married Sadie Carver on December 30, 1947, and together they resided in Waupaca until moving to McFarland in 1968, and then to Stoughton in 1970. Greg was a professional truck driver for many years. He was a member of the VFW Post #8447 in McFarland. He is survived by: 5 children- Sandy (Mitch) Volkmann, Stoughton; Donald (Phyllis) Lane, Milwaukee; Gloria (Kim) Morris, Stoughton; Larry (Val) Lane, Sun Prairie; Marie (Mike) Herrington, Stoughton. 7 grandchildren- Patricia (Steve) Harried, Florida; Joshua & Tara Morris, Stoughton; Melissa Lane, Milwaukee; Tim Herrington, Stoughton; Travis Volkmann, Stoughton; Allayah Lane, Sun Prairie and by a brother- Howell Lane, Sun Prairie. Greg was preceded in death by his wife Sadie in 1976 and by a sister, Elizabeth Peterson. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with the Reverend James Koza officiating. Burial will be in Caersalem Cemetery in Wild Rose, Wisconsin at 2:00 pm. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before service. Olson-Holzhuter-Cress 206 W.
