Donna L. Robbins
April 7, 1935-May 24, 2006
Donna L. Robbins, daughter of the late Arthur Hugh and Laverna Fay (Osborn) Penn, was born on April 7, 1935, in Anderson, Mo. She departed this life on Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at the Seneca House Care Center in Seneca, Mo., at the age of 71.
Donna was a lifelong area resident of McDonald County. She attended grade school at the Honey Lake School in Noel, Mo., and graduated from Anderson High School in the class of 1952. On March 31, 1952, in Bentonville, Ark., she was united in marriage to James J. Robbins and to this union three daughters were born. Throughout her life she was a hard working and devoted homemaker to her husband and family. While living in Anderson she attended the Full Gospel Church where she taught Sunday and Vacation Bible School. She recently attended the Oak Chapel Church near Southwest City, Mo. Donna loved a good bargain and was referred to as a “world champion yard saler” by her family. She also enjoyed spending countless hours visiting with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Robbins, on Sept. 10, 1989; a daughter, Carol Sue Robbins; and a grandson, Billy James Robbins on July 11, 1990.
Donna is survived by two daughters, Pamela Killion and husband, Steve, of Noel, Mo., and Kay Robbins of Southwest City, Mo.; three grandchildren, Melissa Anacito, Stephanie Jacks and Timothy Robbins; four great-grandchildren, Kristan Anacito, Christopher Anacito, Lane Killion and Chazz Jacks; a brother, Dale Penn and wife, Rhonda, of Jefferson City, Mo.; three sisters, Rita Craig and husband, Leon, of Cassville, Mo., Dorothy Barker and husband, Ned, of Kansas City, Mo., and Beverly Campbell and husband, Ron, of Carl Junction, Mo.; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Donna L. Robbins were 2 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2006, in the Ozark Funeral Home Chapel in Anderson, Mo., with Pastor Wesley Robbins officiating. Burial was in the Cummings Cemetery near Tiff City, Mo. The family received friends on Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Janet Faye Kernell
April 20, 1945-June 23, 2006
Janet Faye Kernell, 61, of Anderson, Mo., a homemaker, departed this life on Friday, June 23, 2006, at the St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo., after a short illness.
Janet entered this life on April 20, 1945, in Lexington, Neb., born to Harold and Elaine (Spiegel) Hagan. Janet spent most of her early life in Texas and Calif., after a short illness.
Oliver was born and raised in Goodman, Mo., and has lived in West Sacramento since 1952. Throughout his life he kept close ties with his beloved hometown, and was always proud to be a Calif.; grandson, Steve and Sherry Fairfield of Cochran, Ga.; granddaughter, Rhonda and Alfredo Ramirez of Warner Robins, Ga.; granddaughter, Krista and Ryan Minges of Woodland, Calif.; and great-grandkids, Brandon, Brittany, Susana, Matthew, Hunter, Bryson and Emma.
He also leaves a large and close-knit family in Calif., for 25 years where he earned the trust and respect of countless customers who became his friends. Ollie never met a stranger and was a delightful man.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2006, at the Splitlog Baptist Church in Goodman, Mo., with Pastor Chadd Pendegraft officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Banner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Splitlog Baptist Church Building Fund, 3670 Splitlog Road, Goodman, Mo. 64843, or to a charity of your choice. David Lee Brower
April 22, 1941-Aug. 24, 2006
David Lee Brower, 65, of Lee’s Summit, Mo., passed away Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, at the Select Specialty Hospital. Services were 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 28, at D.W. Newcomwer’s Sons, Floral Hills Chapel. Burial was in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Friends called from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the American Lung Association.
David was born April 22, 1941, in Cameron, Mo., to John A. and Katharine (Lawrence) Brower and had lived in this area most of his life. He retired as an Audio Visual Technician with the Olathe, Kan., school district in 2001 after 10 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 14 years, Karen Lee Brower, in 2005. Survivors include a son, Danny L. Brower of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki L. and Dan Brewer of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; his mother, Katharine Brower of Pineville, Mo.; two step-sons and a step-daughter-in-law, Brian L. and Tiffany Wilkes of Kansas City, Mo., Chester D. Bollinger of Blue Springs, Mo.; a step-daughter, Tricia L. Wilkes of Edgerton, Mo.; a brother, John A. Brower, Jr., of Milford, Conn.; a sister, Lela Ek of Pineville, Mo.; his mother-in-law, Gladys Mock of Clinton, Mo.; three grandsons, Wesley J. Brewer, Quinton M. Wilkes and Owen M. Wilkes; and four granddaughters, Jordon V. Brewer, Scarlett S. Bollinger, Emma G. McAdams and Abigail K. McAdams.
Arrangements were under the direction of D.W. Newcomer’s Sons, Flora Hills Chapel, Kansas City, Mo.

Wanda Jean Rohman
Aug. 24, 2006
Wanda Jean Rohman, 55, or McDonald County, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006.
She was a dearly loved wife and mother and a deeply respected caregiver at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County, where she worked as a registered nurse in the intensive care unit for the past three years.
She was born in Columbia, S.C., and lived in Stuttgart, Ark., for 15 years prior to becoming a resident of the McDonald County community of Bethpage in 2000.
Wanda’s faith in Jesus Christ caused her to love giving herself to meet the needs of her family and those around her. Wanda enjoyed cooking, especially for large gatherings, canning vegetables from the garden, quilting, and assisting her husband on their farm. Wanda gave her nursing skills to help the needy in other countries, participating on three medical missions to Latin America, most recently with Fellowship Bible Church of Northwest Arkansas where she attend for the past six years.
Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Peter Rohman; one daughter, Maria Rohman of the home; her mother, Theodocia Branham of Elgin, S.C.; four brothers, Greg Branham of St. Louis, Mo., Steve Branham of St. Matthews, S.C., Jerry Branham and Gary Branham, both of Elgin, S.C.
Funeral services were 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at “The Lodge” located on the campus of Fellowship Bible Church of Northwest Arkansas with Pastor Chip Jackson and Pastor Russell Dorch officiating. Interment will be at a later date in the Memorial Gardens of Fellowship Bible Church.
Visitation will be from 3 until 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, at Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.

Rosetta J. Bennett
April 25, 1920-Aug. 27, 2006
Rosetta J. Bennett, 86, Seneca, Mo., passed into eternal rest at 7:30 a.m., Aug. 27, 2006, at her niece’s home south of Seneca after an illness.
Rosetta Julia Hall was born April 25, 1920, in Newton County, Mo., the daughter of Samuel Frank and Mary Ann “Hofer” Hall. She had lived in Newton and McDonald counties all of her life. Rosetta was a homemaker and had worked in several nursing homes over the years caring for the elderly. She was a 1937 graduate of Anderson High School and a member of the First Baptist Church in Seneca.
Rosetta J. Hall married John Bennett, March 8, 1938, in Anderson, Mo., and he preceded her in death Aug. 3, 1999.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Rosetta was preceded in death by one brother, Frankie Henry Hall; three half-brothers, Julius Brown, Calvin Brown and Burl Brown; and one half-sister, Cleo Grant.
Funeral services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, at the Campbell-Biddlecome Chapel with Pastor Orval Garrison and Pastor Don Staggs officiating. Burial was in the New Bethel Cemetery in Anderson, Mo., with Nick Testerman, Allen Testerman, Joe Wolfenbarger, Jeremy Wolfenbarger, Shawn King and Mike Hamilton serving as pallbearers.
The family received friends from 6 until 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006, at the funeral home.

Alma Mary Shearer
June 8, 1924-Aug. 25, 2006
Alma Mary Shearer, 82, of Lanagan, Mo., passed away Aug. 25, 2006, in Joplin, Mo.
Mrs. Shearer was born June 8, 1924, in Colorado Springs, Colo., the daughter of Robert Hartwell Kennedy and Alma Kent Lindsey. Alms worked for Campbell Soup for many years. She was raised in Yellville and moved to this area in 1957. She is a member of God’s Lighthouse Church in Bentonville. She is preceded in death by her husband George Kenneth Shearer; her brother, Robert H. Kennedy, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter Nina Pangle of Pineville, Mo.; three grandchildren, Ronald Pangle of Pineville, Mo., Lonnie Pangle and his wife, Dawn, of Pineville, Mo., and Gina Roughton and husband, Frank, of Gravette, Ark.; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, at God’s Lighthouse Church in Bentonville, Ark., with the Reverends Marvin Townzen, Leroy Norton and Roy Roughton officiating. Burial was at noon, Wednesday, in the Fayetteville National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association c/o Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th St., Rogers, Ark. 72756.
