Earl Miller
NEW PHILADELPHIA -- Earl C. "Dutch" Miller, 77, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at Union Hospital in Dover, following complications from a stroke.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia, with the Rev. Terry Downin officiating. Burial will be at Dover Burial Park.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W. 3rd St., Dover 44622.
He was born Jan. 1, 1925, in New Philadelphia, to Earl E. and Martha D. (Jarvis) Miller and married Dorothy Jones on June 15, 1946. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 56 years, are children, Patty (Lee) Krieg of DePere, Wis., Susie (Dave) Bambeck of Dover and Mike (Denice) Miller of Sterling; grandchildren, Amy and Jennifer Miller, Elizabeth Spence, Megan and Lydia Bambeck and Mark Krieg; and a brother, Robert E. Miller of Dover.

Charles Stengel
INDIANAPOLIS -- Dr. Charles H. "Casey" Stengel, 78, of Indianapolis, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Washington Park North Mortuary, with the Rev. Bettie Barta officiating. Burial will be at Washington Park North Cemetery.
Friends may call two hours prior to the services.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Crossroads Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Aug. 30, 1923, in Sidney, Ohio, to Charles W. and Lovina (Watkins) Stengel and married Frances Murray on Aug. 16, 1946. She died in 1985. He then married Norma Roth Chittick on Feb. 24, 1990. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Thomas Murray Stengel and Carol Stengel Briam; stepdaughters, Sue Ware, Sherry Winter, Cynthia Linton and Sandra Kinsler; four grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; and 11 step-great-grandchildren.

Jean Glasgow
WOOSTER -- Jean Glasgow, passed away the evening of July 31, 2002, after a nine-year decline in health in her courageous struggle with non-hodgkins lymphoma and COPD.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, with the Rev. William J. Lofgren officiating. Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call tonight (Friday) from 6-8 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.
She was born Aug. 15, 1920, in St. Mary, W.Va., to George and Lelia (Knight) Alwell and married Gerald H. Glasgow on Oct. 7, 1939. He survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are devoted daughter, Linda Raber of Shreve, grandchildren, Amber and Robin House and Autumn Huser, and great-grandchildren, Dustin and Austin House and Leandra Huser; a son, William (Nancy) Glasgow of Wadsworth and grandsons, Seth and Nathan.

Winifred Leedy
BREWSTER -- Winifred I. Leedy, 85, of Cleveland Avenue, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, after a short illness.
She was the mother of John Leedy of Dalton.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home, 36 W. Main St., Salineville, with Pastors Allan Swinderman and Stephen Wescott officiating. Burial will be at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Hammondsville.
Friends may call two hours prior to the services.
She was born March 3, 1917, in Moorehead, Ky., to William and Josie (McClure) McCormick and married Ernest W. Leedy Sr. on June 1, 1937. He died Dec. 6, 1997.
Other survivors include children, Joy (Darryl) Snyder of Canton, Debbie (Jerry) Blend of North Canton, Kathy (Thomas) Holland of Brewster and Ernest W. Leedy Jr. of Lake Mowhawk; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nora Leedy of Hammondsville.

Joseph Yoder
HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Joseph Alberto Yoder, infant son of James D. and Alba Alicia (Herrera) Yoder of Harrisonburg, Va., died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, after a short illness.
He was the grandson of Mary J. Yoder of Wooster and great-grandson of Maryann Wengerd of Walnut Creek.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Kyger & Trobaugh Funeral Home in Harrisonburg, Va. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Harrisonburg.
Friends may call tonight (Friday) from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born July 9, 2002, in Harrisonburg.
Other survivors include a sister, Brittany and brothers, Brent and Brandon, all of the home; grandparents, Socorro Demichelion and Carmen Lopez, both of Uruguay; and great-grandparent, Raul Herrera of Uruguay.

Mary Reiss
KILLBUCK -- Mary Lucille Reiss, 80, County Road 19, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with the Rev. Ron Davis officiating. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery in Warsaw.
Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, and until time of services.
Memorial contributions may be made to Walhonding Valley Fire Department or Warsaw Emergency Squad.
She was born Dec. 2, 1921, in Wayside, W.Va., to Otho M. and Nannie J. (Broyles) Weikle and married William Shannon Reiss on Dec. 1, 1956. He died May 3, 1970.
Surviving are brothers, Leonard Weikle of Shelby, Floyd Weikle of Bellville, Norman Weikle of Perrysville and Lionel Weikle of Dublin, Va.; sisters, Eva Blake of Maxwelton, W.Va., Edna Rockwell of Martinsburg, W.Va., Evalie Linkous of Ronceverte, W.Va., Virginia Lee of Wildwood, Fla., Wilma Ferrina of College Park, Md., and Wilda Judy of Meadowbridge, W.Va.; several nieces and nephews; a good friend, Marlin Moore and a special friend, Sam Hatten, both of Killbuck.

William Baird
FREDERICKSBURG -- William Allen Baird, 53, 9434 Fredericksburg Road, died Tuesday evening, July 30, 2002, at his home.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Holmesville Church of Christ, with the Rev. Brian Powell officiating.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg, where P.O.W. services will be held at 8 p.m.
He was born June 7, 1949, in Millersburg, to William Henry and Jessie (Kendall) Baird and married Katalin M. Mullins on Sept. 26, 1991. She died April 1, 2002.
Surviving are a son, Brad (Angie) Baird of Jacksonville, N.C.; stepchildren, Maria (Travis) Daugherty of Wooster, Matthew and Mark Mullins, both of Fredericksburg and Maureen Mullins of Oak Harbor; and a step-granddaughter.

William Herman Sr.
PERRYSVILLE -- William David Herman Sr., 78, 110 Old Town Alley, died Wednesday morning, July 31, 2002, at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital, after a brief illness.
Graveside services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville, where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. The Rev. Don Carr will officiate.
There will be no calling hours. Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, in Loudonville, is handling arrangements.
The family requests contributions be made to Loudonville Public Library; Green-Perrysville Fire Department EMS; or Perrysville United Methodist Church.
He was born Aug. 2, 1923, in Perrysville, to Ralph and Iva (Lozier) Herman and married Betty E. Kemp on Oct. 3, 1942. She survives.
Other survivors include sons, Steven (Karen) Scott of Ashland and William D. (Carol) Herman Jr. of Perrysville; two grandchildren; a step-grandchild; a great-grandson; and a step-brother, Ralph Lozier of Mansfield.

Edna Faught
SHREVE -- Edna M. Faught, 88, of Shreve, entered into rest Wednesday morning, July 31, 2002, at Glendora Health Care Center, Wooster, after a period of declining health.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, Wooster, with the Rev. Guy Morton officiating. Burial will be at Wooster Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Westwood Baptist Church, 969 Blachleyville Road, Wooster 44691.
Mrs. Faught was born Nov. 25, 1913, in Beaver Dam, Ky., to Peter and Rebecca (Hines) Daugherty and married Ceron G. Faught on Dec. 24, 1936, in Wooster. He entered into rest June 22, 2000.
Surviving are daughters, Iris (John) Kestner of Wooster, Hattie (Eugene) Austin of Jeromesville, Joyce McCluggage of Loudonville and Joan (Michael) Dudte of Lattasburg; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Claude Burgess (Margaret) Daugherty of Wooster and William R. (Delores) Daugherty of Shreve; and a sister, Marie (Charles) Woodhull of Wooster.

Abe Weaver
FREDERICKSBURG -- Abe J. Weaver, 80, 8141 Weaver Road, died Wednesday morning, July 31, 2002, at his home after an extended illness.
Services will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the residence, with minister Eli A. Yoder officiating. Burial will be at Yoder Cemetery, Salt Creek Township, Wayne County.
Friends may call anytime at the residence. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton, is handling arrangements.
He was born Aug. 17, 1921, in Holmes County, to Jacob D. and Fannie A. (Yoder) Weaver and married Edna J. Yoder on Dec. 20, 1945. She died Feb. 17, 1997.
Surviving are children, Mabel (Levi R.) Mast, Martha (Oren H.) Yoder and Miriam (David J.) Mast, all of Dundee, Fannie (Levi E.) Mast and Henry (Esther) Weaver, both of Apple Creek, Reuben Weaver of Wooster, Jacob (Erma) Weaver of the home and Milan (Clara) Weaver of Mount Eaton; 42 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Sylvanus Yoder
FREDERICKSBURG -- Sylvanus L. Yoder, 79, 8922 State Route 241, Fredericksburg, died Wednesday morning, July 31, 2002, at Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg, after a period of declining health. He had been a resident of Walnut Hill Nursing Home in Walnut Creek, for the past two years.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Gospel Haven Mennonite Church in Benton, with Pastor Dennis Mullet officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday from 5-9 p.m. at the church. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton, is handling arrangements.
He was born July 6, 1923, in Kalona, Iowa, to Edward G. and Anna (Ropp) Yoder and married Susan I. Helmuth on Feb. 1, 1945. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Cecil (Freda) Yoder of Fredericksburg, Rosella (Richard) Hostetler of Nashwauk, Minn., Dallas (Alma) Yoder of Loogootee, Ind., Leonard (Esther) Yoder of Montgomery, Ind., Charlene (Glenn) Hofer of Alberta, Canada, and Lynette (LaWayne) Ropp of Estacada, Ore.; 28 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Viola Schlabach and Dorothy Miller, both of Kalona, Iowa, Edna Yoder and Lydia Anna Miller, both of Crofton, Ky.; brothers, Chris Yoder of Kalona, Iowa, J. Edward Yoder of Argyle, Iowa, Alton Yoder and Marvin Yoder, both of Crofton, Ky.

Thelma Matson
INDIANAPOLIS -- Thelma E. (Robichaud) Matson, 98, died Monday, July 29, 2002, at Hoosier Village, Indianapolis.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Scottsdale, Ariz., where her ashes will be interred.
She was born in Crystal Falls, Mich., and was married to Charles Matson for 49 years. He died in 1977.
Surviving are children, Jan (French) Eason of Indianapolis and Charles (Isobel) Matson of Wooster; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dulcie Turner of Cottonwood, Ariz.

Wilma Dettra
TILTONSVILLE -- Wilma M. Dettra, 88, of Tiltonsville, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2002.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Schlup-Pucak Funeral Home, Kenmore Boulevard at 8th Street, where friends will be welcomed one hour prior to the services. Inurnment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Kenmore United Methodist Church, 2181 14th St., SW, Akron 44314.
Wilma will be greatly missed by a daughter, Lois (Harry) Fisher of Akron and a son, Gene (Corky) Dettra of Wooster; grandsons, Brian, Scott and Adam; and a great-granddaughter, Peyton.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, Arnold Dettra in 1996, and sons, Floyd, Clarence and Daniel Dettra.

Tina Senecal
ARVADA, Colo. -- Tina M. (Jackway) Senecal, 37, 7824 Reed St., formerly of 930 N. Ella St., Orrville, died Monday, July 29, 2002, at Dunlap Memorial Hospital in Orrville, after a sudden illness.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Martins Mennonite Church near Orrville, with Pastor Randy Murray officiating. Cremation has taken place.
There will be no calling hours. Auble Funeral Home in Orrville, is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
She was born Sept. 15, 1964, in Lancaster, Calif., to Barry J. and Alice M. (Magnusson) Jackway and married Gordon D. Senecal on May 25, 1999. He survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Michelle M. Senecal and a step-daughter, Lisa Senecal, both of Arvada, Colo.; two grandchildren; her father of Smithville; brothers, Barry Lee Jackway of California and Kevin Troy Jackway of Orrville; sisters, Renee Ann Happs of Federal Way, Wash., Nanette Marie Jackway of Lancaster, Calif., Jacquelyn Mae Helms of Smithville and Nicole Marie Jackway of Orrville; two nephews and six nieces.
Her mother died April 28, 2002.

Budge Fink
MARSHALLVILLE -- Military services for Budge F. "Bud" Fink, 74, 84 Stevic Road, will be held in his honor on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Wooster Cemetery. The Wayne County Veterans Service Commission will do the honors.
His flag will fly for two weeks and a live 21-gun firing detail will be observed. Marvin Edwards will be guest speaker. Family and friends are welcome.
He died Friday, June 22, 2001.
