GATES, Sherrie Mott, 61, a resident of Prattville, AL, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at her residence. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2005, at 2:00 p.m., from Prattville Memory Gardens, with Reverend Chuck Dodd and Steve Lutz officiating, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Gates is survived by her husband of 41 years, Frederick K. (Kib) Gates of Prattville, AL; two sons, Dan (Danni) K. Gates of Colorado Springs, CO and Bill Gates of Prattville, AL; three grandchildren, Aaron Kirschner, Chris Kirschner, and Esya Kirschner; one brother, Larry (Judy) Mott of Prattville, AL; one aunt, Helen Mott of Prattville, AL; one brother-in-law, Bruce Gates of Salem, OR; two nieces, Stephanie and Chloe Gates. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the First Christian Church of Prattville, 737 North Memorial Drive, Prattville, Alabama 36066.

Frances Jones Kent DeLoach

DELOACH, Frances Jones Kent, 84, a resident of Prattville, AL, died on Monday, May 19, 2008. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Reverend Tommy Roy officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. DeLoach graduated from Holtville High School in 1941. Mrs. DeLoach was a faithful member to the First United Methodist Church of Prattville. She was a member of the local Loyal Order of Moose and the Gillespie Senior Center, where she spent two days a week line dancing. Mrs. DeLoach was an avid Atlanta Braves and Auburn football fan. Mrs. DeLoach was preceded in death by her spouses, Julius Clinton Kent, Sr. and Harvey E. Deloach; three sisters, Mildred Davis, Virginia Lotz, and Annie Maude Brooks Speigner; four brothers, Roger Andy “Buddy” Jones, Raymond “Bo-Bo” Jones, James Earl Jones, Jr., and Dan Cross Jones; and one special granddaughter, Amanda Catherine Kent. She is survived by one daughter, Judy Frances Kent (Mark) Pickler; two sons, Julius Clinton (Sarita) Kent, Jr., and Steven Howard (Sheryl) Kent; five step-sons, Joe (Marylou) DeLoach, Tim (Sheila) DeLoach, Mark DeLoach, Dan (Debbie) DeLoach, Henry DeLoach; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends and neighbors. Pallbearers will be Billy Brooks, Julius Brooks, Luther Jones, Kirk Jones, Jimmy Jones, Eddie Jones, Thom Davis, Fred Davis, and Mark Evan Pickler, Jr. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial on Wednesday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Charles Lanier

Lanier, Charles Raymond, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully at home on Saturday, February 17, 2007, after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at 11:00 a.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Reverend Bill Tucker and Minister Jon Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Lanier is survived by his beloved spouse, Lynda Lanier; one son, Christopher R. Lanier; one step-daughter, April Burt; one step-son, Vince Burt; his parents, C. Raymond (Candice) Lanier, and Roena (Jerry) Lofton; one sister, Sheryl (Mark) Hall; one brother, Randy (Evelyn) Lanier; four step-grandchildren, Jay Gatta, Sydney Crane, Lane Free, and Cade Free; four nieces, Dawn, Samantha, Ashley, and Maggie; two nephews, Mark and Dakota; and many other relatives and close friends. Pallbearers will be Stephen Perdue, David Gibbons, Dale Evans, Roger Blankenship, Brandon Luckie, Jeff Lee, and Ricky Herring. Honorary pallbearers will be James Rainwater and Greg Herring. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Linda Dismukes

DISMUKES, Linda Jo, 47, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully on Sunday, July 23, 2006. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Reverend Glenn Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Ms. Dismukes was preceded in death by her father, Charles Mathews. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Krystle Dismukes, Ft. Knox, KY; two granddaughters, Karlee Dismukes and Taylor Dismukes; her mother, Juanita Mathews, Prattville, AL; two sisters, Adrienne (Anthony) Yarbrough, Prattville, AL, and Brenda (Dennis) Reed, Houston, TX; one aunt, Callie B. Smith; five nieces, Aileen Yarbrough, Lisa Yarbrough, Audrey (Jeff) Parrish, Jennifer Reed, and Amanda Reed; and two nephews, Joshua Barnhill and David Reed. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Mary Elizabeth Krantz

Krantz, Mary Elizabeth Dismukes, 85, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully on Saturday, December 24, 2005, at a Montgomery hospital. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at 12:00 p.m., from the Camellia Baptist Church, with Reverends Glenn Brock, Doug Powell, and Joe Rollan officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Dismukes was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow “Ted” Dismukes; two sons, James Ted Dismukes and Charles Krantz; two grand-daughters, Tracy Dauzat and Rhonda Manning. She is survived by her husband, Peter “Papa Pete” Krantz, Prattville, AL; one son, Woodrow (Teressa) Dismukes, Verbena, AL; three daughters, Betty (Tony) Ramos, Prattville, AL, Doris Dismukes, Ft. Worth, TX, Beverly (Terry) Strickland, Jackson Gap, AL; nine grandchildren, Deborah Loggan, Joseph (Cathy) Snyder, Henry F. (Jennifer) Manning, Jr., Joe Dismukes, Amanda Vasquez, Ramona Bankston, Joe Smith, Gary Smith, and Amber Krantz; eleven great-grandchildren, Angie Theobald, Sara Dirke, Rachael Byard, Casey Dauzat, Victor Bankston, Dorie Bankston, Terry Lee Oates, Misty Lee, Chantell Denton, Jimmy O’Connor, and Allison O’Connor; fifteen great-great grandchildren, Nicholas Taylor Theobald, Deziree Bratcher, Jason Dirke, Lexia Dirke, Destiny Lee, Michael Joseph Day, Jarred Krantz, Joe Smith Jr., Kaylee Smith, Victor Vasquez, Isabella Vasquez, Celeste Dismukes, Tristian Dismukes, Dawson Smith, and Zachary Smith; one sister-in-law, Gladys Marks; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Active pallbearers will be Danny Jackson, Wes Floyd, Chris Morgan, Earnest Moseley, John Burton, and Chris Garrison. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men’s V Sunday School Class of Camellia Baptist. Jim Frederick

FREDERICK, James Arthur “Jim,” 76, a resident of Prattville, AL, and a member of First Baptist Church of Prattville, and former member of Coosada Baptist Church, died peacefully at home on Friday, March 2, 2007, after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2007, at 4:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Dr. Travis Coleman and Reverend Robert Sandifer officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Frederick proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean War and later retired with over 35 years of service with the Federal Civil Service. He was devoted to his family and loyal to his friends and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Thelma Frederick, and his brother, Elmer Frederick. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Lorraine Barrington Evans Frederick, Prattville, AL; two daughters, Melinda (Randy) Naylor, Coosada, AL, and Terri (Tommy) Mitchell, Millbrook, AL; three sons, Randy Frederick, Foley, AL, Bill (Debra) Frederick, Millbrook, AL, and Jeff (Barbara) Evans, Prattville, AL; seven grandchildren, Katie (Mark) Stuart, Meredith Naylor and fiancé Paul Adams, Hailey Frederick, Chase Frederick, Angie Mims, Alan Evans, and Carly Evans; three great-grandchildren; Emily Stuart, Shelby Mims, and Bailey Mims; three sisters, Betty Duncan, Headland, AL, Dorothy McCracken, Moody, AL, and Shirley Frederick, Holtville, AL; two sisters-in-law, Flossie Frederick, Coosada, AL, and Sara Jones, Montgomery AL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Alan Evans, Mark Stuart, Paul Adams, Mike McCracken, Bill Thrasher, David Faust, Daniel Reeder, and Neal Smith. The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to Southern Care Hospice and other special caregivers for the kind and loving care given to “Mr. Jim” during his illness. Thomas Melvin Holley

HOLLEY, Thomas Melvin, 78, a resident of Deatsville, AL, died at his home on Monday, March 24, 2008. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 28, 2008, at 2:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Reverend Fred Tag officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Holley was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who devoted his life to caring for his loved ones. Mr. Holley was a Godly man who served his community and touched many with his ministries. He is survived by his beloved spouse of 57 years, Danie Holley; two daughters, Debbie (Fred) Tag, and Donna (Wayne) Dickerson; one son, Jason Selman; three grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Powell and Glenda Wooten; two brothers, Don (Gail) Holley and Harold (Doris) Holley; and numerous other relatives. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Earl Jones

Jones, James Earl Jr., 91, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully on Monday, June 5, 2006. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., from the Autaugaville Baptist Church, with Reverends Garner Clark and Les Snodgrass officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Hill Cemetery, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Jones honorably served his country during World War II with the United States Navy. He was a rural mail carrier for 31 years in the Autaugaville area. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Mary Edwards Jones. He is survived by one daughter, Janice (Jim) Baker, Prattville, AL; three sons, Jimmy (Bess) Jones, Shalimar, FL, Luther (Kay) Jones, Autaugaville, AL, and Kirk (Brenda) Jones, Selma, AL; eight grandchildren, Scott Baker, Marianne Estess, Adrienne McGeehee, Fonna Stephens, Lela Jones, Jodie Jones, Paul Kirk Jones, and Kalli Jones; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Millie Davis, Biloxi, MS, and Frances DeLoach, Prattville, AL, and one brother, Roger “Buddy” (Jenny) Jones, Prattville, AL. Pallbearers will be David Hardy, Eddie Jones, Billy Brooks, Clint Kent, Julius Brooks, Kenny Deramus, and Ken Owens, and Jerry Bender.
