MARGARET-MARY (SIS) ORR - Sis was born in Chicago, IL and passed away December 14, 1999 in Tucson. She was a loving mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to her family. Sis is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert C. Orr; her children, Diane Hogerty (Dennis), Tim (Connie), Kathy (Peter Evans), Nancy Maichel (John), Maggi, Patti, Tom (Theresa), Rock-o (Tessa), Susie (Rob Chavez), Michael, Elizabeth and her 22 grandchildren. Sis and Bob spent their summers in Aurora, OH where she was a member of both Christ Child Society and the Walden '9 holers'. Their winters were spent in Tucson where she was an avid Wildcat Basketball fan. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A visitation will be held at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. (at Magee) on December 17th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow. Mass will be held at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton on Saturday, December 18th at 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christ Child Society of Western Reserve, 1535 R Mentor Ave., Painesville, OH 44077.

SKOLIC, Walter J., 80, of Tucson, died November 29, 1999. Husband of Loretta M. Skolic of Tucson; father of Walter J. (Aileen) Skolic, Jr. (Tucson), Linda M. Schwerke (Rancho Bernardo, CA); two grandchildren; brother of Charles Skolic (Newark, NJ), Francis Skolic (Forest City, PA). Graveside service Friday, December 17, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Hope cemetery with Father Arthur Devine officiating. Arrangements by ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL, 3435 N. 1st Ave. (888-1111).

SMITH, Frances Jean, 74, of Tucson, died December 14, 1999 in Phoenix. preceded in death by her husband, Robert 'Bob' Smith; sisters, Donna Pollock and Evelyn Thornton. Loving mother of Tonda (Larry) Rose of Phoenix, Tana Robles of Tucson; beloved grandmother of Jamie L. Rose of Phoenix. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends she held close at heart. Memorial Service Saturday, 4:00 p.m. EVERGREEN MORTUARY, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arizona Cancer Research or to a family in need during this holiday season.

VIDAL, Max C., age 82, a loving and loyal husband and father died on Sunday, December 12, 1999.
Born on February 8, 1917 in Virginia to a military family, Max settled in Tucson in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army/Air Force during WWII. After attending the U.of A., Max worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Hughes Aircraft for many years.
Max is survived by his wife, Helen of Tucson; daughters, Maryann Vidal Pearson of Mill Valley, CA, and Sally Hineman of Avondale, AZ; sisters, Sr. Mary Assumpta, M. Bernard Vidal, and Selma Stone; and grandson, Jay Hineman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
An hour of prayer and meditation will be held at Wolfrey Peace Chapel on Thursday, December 16, at 7:00 p.m. Celebration of Mass will be on Friday morning, December 17, followed by burial at Our Lady of the Desert.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the U.of A. Foundation, naming the Max C. Vidal Memorial Scholarship Endowment.

ROSALIE D. APODACA, who died on December 16, 1994. She is survived by her two sons, Philip Arthur and Christopher Paul Apodaca, and her husband, Arthur Philip Apodaca, her grandson, Frankie Apodaca, and her siblings, Patsy Vega, Eddie, Bobby, Rudy, David and Irene Daniels. She was the light in our eye and will continue to shine in our memory. We all miss her dearly, and with this want to keep her alive within our minds, because she has always been in our hearts. Thank you to all who supported us through the hard times, she loved all who were considered her friends and family.

MARY LYNN BOYNTON, 54, died on Tuesday, December 14, 1999. She was known for her generous spirit and her love of children, art and teaching. A devoted mother, teacher and friend, she spent many volunteer hours at her daughters' schools and other activities and founded The Sunrise School Fall Carnival. Mary Lynn taught elementary school for 22 years at TUSD, and was loved by all. She is survived by her daughters, Ashley and Abby; their father, William Boynton; her sister, Lisa Hawley; brother, Roger Damon and father, Sam Damon. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 17 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church at 750 W. Chapala. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Whitmore Elementary School, Ronald McDonald House, or St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.

CORELLA, Peter Delsi, age 57, a lifetime resident of Tucson, passed away December 14, 1999. Born January 25, 1942 in Nogales, AZ. Survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Concepcion; sons, Sergio, Peter, Albert (Darla) Corella, and Edward G. (Claudia) Urena; daughters, Susan, Sandra, and Concepcion Corella; 15 grandchildren; brothers, Longio, John, Felipe, Armando, Jesus Corella; sister, Beatrice Tolano. A visitation was held Thursday, December 16 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave., Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, December 17, 1999 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Burial will follow at South Lawn cemetery.

MARJORIE REID FABIAN, 52, of Tucson, passed away on December 15, 1999. Survivors include her children, Paco and Katie; her father, C.E. 'Mickey' Reid; and three brothers, Michael, John and James Reid. Marjorie was preceded in death by her mother, Mary and her sister, Mary K. Reid. A memorial service will be held at Grace St. Paul's Episcopal Church at a later date. Arrangements by SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY.

HUGHES BYRON HANCHETT, age 83, a Tucson resident since 1987, passed away December 14, 1999. Born July 14, 1916 in Richfield, Utah. Survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marian; her children, Nancy Griffin, Byron Hanchett and Claudia Bird; grandchildren, John Byron Griffin, Shellie Biondolillo, Marcus Griffin, and Nancy Dunbar; great-grandchildren, Anna Marie Biondolillo and Maxwell Hughes Griffin. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 18, 1999 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave. Friends may visit one hour prior to service. Burial to follow at South Lawn cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Limbs For Life Foundation, 120 N. Robinson, Suite 1913, Oklahoma City, OK, 73102.

JOSEPH LEE passed peacefully away on December 14, 1999. Joe was born in Toison, China on October 23, 1921. Joe came to San Francisco when he was only twelve years old. Joe met and married Ann Louie. They had two sons, Calvin and Jeffrey. Joe bought a grocery store in Tucson and opened the store every day from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m for thirty years. Joe is remembered by friends and family as a hard worker, loving husband and good father. His mahjonng friends will miss him. In retirement, Joe enjoyed fishing and traveling with Ann. He also visited his grandchildren, Alicia and Jeffrey, to attend their various school activities in Houston, Texas. Joe was easy going and never complained. With only a sixth grade education, Joe ran the grocery store and raised his family. He wanted his two sons to have all the things that were not available to him. Joe succeeded beyond his expectations. His two sons became an attorney and a doctor. Jeff, the doctor, went on to marry Teri Ong, and accountant, and both of their children are in college. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you send a donation to your favorite charity or the Alzheimer's Foundation. Memorial Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 18, 1999 at 3:30 p.m. in EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Road.

MACCABE, Dorothea, age 73, of Tucson, Arizona, died Monday, December 13, 1999. Survived by children, Elizabeth Barlow (Stephen) of Tucson, Arthur 'Barney' Maccabe (Linda) of Albuquerque, John Maccabe of New Hampshire and Andrew Maccabe of Tucson; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Predeceased by her sons, James Eareckson and Frederic III and her husband of fifty years, Frederic. Dorothea was President of Tucson Medical Center Auxiliary and the Tucson Chapter of Los Amigos de las Americas, and also a volunteer with Assistance League of Tucson. Memorial Service will be held 12:00 p.m., Sunday, December 19, 1999 at Trinity Presbyterian Church Chapel. Remembrances may be made to Assistance League of Tucson. Arrangements made by ARIZONA MORTUARY, 7 E. University Blvd.

ETHEL SHEA
'I carry my mother's love with me always, like a precious keepsake close to my heart'
Ethel Shea, a 44-year resident of Tucson, entered into peace on December 13, 1999, after a brief illness. Ethel was born in Boston, MA, on September 14, 1912. She is survived by three children, John W. Shea of Charleston, SC, Maryellen (Don) Scott and Ethel (Duane) Andersen of Tucson; also survived by grandchildren, Keith Muniz, Brian Scott, Katie Andersen, and Katie's brothers, Tony and Drew Andersen. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, December 20, at 5:00 p.m. at St. Francis Cabrini Church, 3201 E. Presidio Rd. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society. Our heartfelt thanks to those who cared for our mother while she was ill. We will certainly miss her.

VIRGINIA TOUSLEY, 70, died December 3, 1999. Survived by sons, Stephen II and Bruce; brother, Stephen; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; five nephews, a niece, and many friends. She will be remembered as a forgiving and loving lady. During her life she enjoyed music, art, horses, dogs and fishing expeditions. Virginia created many ceramic gifts for family and friends to remember her by. We all miss you so much 'Ginny', until we all meet again in the fullness of time for an eternal happy celebration of love. A memorial service will be held at St. Pius X Church, 1800 N. Camino Pio Decimo on Saturday, December 18 at 9:00 a.m.

HOWARD D. WISDOM, 63, loving husband, father, son, and brother, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tucson, Arizona, on December 14, 1999. Mr. Wisdom fought a three-year battle with NonHodgin Lymphoma. A lifetime resident of Tumacacori, Arizona, Mr. Wisdom contributed 35 years of hard work and devotion to the Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District #35. He established and operated Wisdom's Electric Sales and Service from 1963 through 1997. Mr. Wisdom was a 1954 graduate of Nogales High School and served in the United States Navy from 1954 through 1958.
Mr. Wisdom is survived by his wife, Linda Louise; children, Cheryl (Peary) Polley, Suzonne (Tu) Hodgman; mother, Petra Gomez-Wisdom; brothers, William (Sara), Herbert (Irene), Jesse (Gayle) Wisdom; sisters, JenniBelle Castillo, Linda (Jim) Peachey, and four loving grandchildren.
The Wisdom family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the family and friends who donated blood products in Mr. Wisdom's behalf. The following people have touched the hearts of the Wisdom family through their undying efforts and prayers, the Green Valley Oncology Clinic and Staff, Manuel Modiano M.D. and Staff, Y. Haroon Ahmad M.D. and the Blood & Marrow Stem Cell Staff, friends and community members.

FELIX, Jaime L., 77, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away December 16, 1999. preceded in death by son, John Felix. He is survived by wife, Lydia Felix; daughter, Corinne Rivas; sons, Arnulfo (Terry), Rigoberto (Maria Louisa) and Jaime Felix; sister, Elma DeBaca; brother, Sergio Felix. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 20, 1999 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. MARY A. GRADILLAS, 80, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away December 15, 1999. preceded in death by husband, Arnulfo L. Gradillas; parents, Jose and Dolores Altamirano. Survived by daughters, Norma Kuligowski and Maria (Ray) Valenzuela; sons, Richard (Grethe), Rev. Arnulfo, George (Gloria) and Jose Ruben (Donna); sister, Frances Alvarez; brothers, Joe and Oscar Altamirano. Also survived by 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 19, 1999 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Monday, December 20, 1999, 10:30 a.m. at Santa Cruz Church, 1220 S. 6th Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope cemetery. HOLZ, Bernice (Melnik). Bernice was born May 15, 1925 in Vilno, Poland. She came to the U.S. in 1939 where she resided in Chicago. She met Frank Holz and they were married in Montgomery, Alabama in July, 1944. In 1950, the Holz family moved to Williamsburg, Iowa where they operated a dry cleaners. After retiring from the dry cleaning business in the early 1980's, Bernice worked at a couple of restaurants where she was able to enjoy and share her talents as a cook and baker. Bernice retired from the Landmark Restaurant in 1995. She and her husband Frank moved to Tucson in 1995. She loved the desert and mountains and warm climate of Tucson. Bernice loved spending time with her family especially her granddaughters. She enjoyed making big meals for friends and family, no one ever left her home hungry. She went to be with her Savior, Jesus, in heaven at 9:40 a.m., December 17, 1999, after a struggle with Valley Fever. Her family misses her, but is comforted knowing she is in God's loving arms. She is survived by her husband, Frank; daughter, Gerry (Allen) Harves of Dubuque, Iowa; sons, Frank (Gail) Holz of West Des Moines, Iowa and John (Leslie) Holz of Tucson. She is also survived by six granddaughters, Heather Harves of Tucson and Erin Harves of Ft. Dodge, IA, Meridith, Emily, Hannah and Olivia Holz, all of Tucson. A memorial service will be held at Fountain of Life Lutheran Church, 710 S. Kolb on Monday, December 20, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fountain of Life Lutheran Church.

McREYNOLDS, Anastasia Anita, 66, of Portal, AZ, died on December 6, 1999 in Willcox, AZ. She was born on October 14, 1933 in Silven, Bulgaria. Mrs. McReynolds is survived by her son, Ernest (Suzanne) McReynolds; granddaughters, Alexia Marie McReynolds and Clarisse Elizabeth McReynolds; also a sister, Mary Mimi Combs survives. Private family services will be held. Arrangements under the direction of Westlawn Chapel & Mortuary in Willcox, AZ.

FRANK C. VALENZUELA, 70, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away December 15, 1999. He is survived by daughters, Diane M.V. Romero and Gloria M. Egurrola; sons, Francisco, Henry, and Robert; sisters, Anita Flores and Maria (Frank) Lopez; brother, Joe (Gloria) Valenzuela. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 20, 1999 from 4:00 to 10:00 at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, (North Chapel), 204 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Tuesday, December 21, 1999, 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Church. Interment to follow at Holy Hope cemetery. He will be truly missed by all that knew and loved him. His companion was Delia Carrillo. Arrangements by CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, INC.
