She retired from Federal Mogel in Greensburg, IN. She was a member of the Batesville Eagles, American Legion #271 & VFW #3183 Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Meyer is survived by her husband James D. Meyer; children Gene (Carolyn J.) Back of Batesville, IN; Late Judy Ann Garnett; Charlene Webster of Eugene, OR; Thomas W. Back of Batesville, IN; stepson Steven (Brenda) Meyer of Batesville, IN; grandchildren Charlotte Ann Webster, Chris and Brian Garnett, Steven, David, Lindsey & Carson Back and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Thomas E. Back, grandson Gregory Sterling and 11 brothers & sisters. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 pm at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN. Services will be Friday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Sterling Cauble officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Sunman, IN. Memorials may be directed to Margaret Mary

Walter Arnie Siebert, age 71 years of Batesville, IN passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2004 in Batesville.

born August 20, 1932 in Batesville; the son of Walter & Lorina (Behlmer) Siebert. He married Roberta Jean “Bobbie” Green on April 21, 1956 at St. John United Church of Christ.

Mr. Siebert is survived by his wife Robert Jean “Bobbie” Siebert, sons David (Wanda) Siebert of Greensburg, IN and Steven (Amy) Siebert of Batesville, IN; grandchildren Heather, Andrew, Holly, Jennifer & Michelle Siebert and brother Amos Siebert of Batesville, IN. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers Raymond & Orval Siebert and sister Marjorie Kessens.

He retired from Romweber Furniture, but spent most of his life working for Union Furniture Company. He loved to do woodworking. He was a US Army Veteran of Korea. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Crossroads.

Funeral Services will be Monday, April 12, 2004 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Robin Owen officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 - 8 PM at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN. Burial will be in St. Paul Church Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul Church Cemetery or the American Heart Assoc.

Allyn Leah Harvey, age 53, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at her home.

She was born on April 21, 1950 to Duane & Charlene (Cook) Clippert in Davenport, Iowa.

On August, 10, 1968 she married John Harvey. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Oldenburg and worked as the Medical Staff Coordinator at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville.

She is survived by Special Friend, Kenneth Davidson; Daughter, Tracy Dwenger; Son, Christopher Harvey; Grandchildren, Kayla, Christopher, Lyndsey, Lauren, Claire, Jordan & Sarah; Sisters, Karen Cawley, Dana Clippert, Terry Stockwell, Christie Clippert, Charlene Williams, & Amy Bernard; Brothers, David, Steve & Jeff Clippert. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in March 1993.

Visitation is Saturday, 1-3pm at Meyers Funeral Home, immediately followed by funeral services at 3pm. Cremation will follow service. Father John Turnbull, officiating.

Memorials may be made to the J. Michael Hansen Oncology Center.

Dolores Helen Ann Slayback (nee: Bedinghaus), age 87 years of Lawrenceburg, IN passed away Monday, April 5, 2004 in W. Harrison, IN.

She was born October 15, 1916 in Cincinnati, OH; the daughter of Joseph & Carrie (LaWarre) Bedinghaus. She married Edward William Slayback on April 10, 1937 and he preceded her in death on December 22, 1976.

Mrs. Slayback is survived by her children Bill (Cookie) Slayback, George (Jeanine) Slayback, David (Elaine) Slayback, Karen (Wayne) Hamon, Nancy Hensley, Stella Studer, Jean (Brian) Gesell, Marcia (Doug) Wilks, Carrie (Paul, Pasqual, Paige) Yung & Dixie Slayback; brothers Ben, Pete & Edward Bedinghaus; sisters Kate Russell, Martha Gibbons, Mary Ellen Dooley & Pat Funk; 28 grandchildren & 34 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by her son Ronald Slayback & daughter Marlene Slayback; brothers Joe, George, Henry & John Bedinghaus and sisters Cecilia Bedinghaus, Dorothy Shield, Rosemary Humphrey & Helen Gerrity.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 7, 2004 from 10 am - 11 am (Fast Time) followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM all at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH with Rev. Dr. Harold Shackelford officiating. Burial will be in Gibson Cemetery, Bright, IN. Memorials are suggested to Margaret Mary Home Care, Batesville, IN or Bright Rescue Unit.

Mary Olive Williams, age 87 years of New Point, IN passed away Sunday, April 4, 2004 in Durham, NC.

born April 22, 1916 in New Point; the daughter of Virgil & Selma (Starks) Minning. She married Charles G. Williams on September 28, 1936.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband Charles; daughter Shirley (Bobby) Maines of Durham, NC; son Gordon (Carol) Williams of London, OH; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sister June Eineman of Indianapolis, IN and brother Donald R. Minning of New Point, IN. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son Charles V. Williams; 1 great granddaughter and brothers Ralph “Bud” Minning and John Louis Minning.

She was a member of the New Point Christian Church and Loveland, OH Order Eastern Star.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 10, 2004 at 10:30 AM with calling at the New Point Christian Church from 10 until time of service. Visitation will be Friday from 5 - 8 PM at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN. Burial will be in Rossburg Cemetery with Pastor Mark Vice officiating. Memorials are suggested to New Point Christian Church Building Fund.

She was born January 25, 1952 in Batavia, OH; the daughter of Louis & Myrtle (Rapier) Akers. She married Robert McQueen on November 9, 1968 in Elizabeth City, NC and he survives.

Mrs. McQueen is also survived by her son Michael Shawn McQueen, Sr. of Sunman, IN; grandson Michael Shawn McQueen, Jr.; granddaughters Britney & Angel McQueen; brothers Louis Akers, Jr. & Charles Akers; sisters Emily Miller, Lois Cliff, Flonnie Pierce & Ethel Alexander. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister & a brother.

She was formerly employed at US Shoe.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 4, 2004 at 11:00 AM (Fast Time) until time of service at 2:00 PM at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH with Pastor Hilton Reed officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery in Sunman, IN. Memorials are suggested to Sunman Life Squad or St. Leon Life Squad.

Louise Charlotte Bohner, age 89 years of Batesville, IN passed away Monday, March 8, 2004 in Batesville.

She was born October 7, 1914 in Aurora, IN the daughter of John & Lena (Elbrecht) Detmer. She married Paul Bohner on May 21, 1942 and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughters Edna Puente of Batesville, IN; Paula Bohner of Batesville, IN and Cynthia Shrader of Greensburg, IN; granddaughter Linda Schomber; grandsons Tony, Scott & Todd Puente and Mike Shrader; 7 great grandchildren; sister in law Bessie Detmer of Lawrenceburg, IN and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers Elmer & harley Detmer and 2 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Bohner was a member of the Batesville United Methodist Church and retired from the Batesville Casket Co.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 11, 2004 at 10:00 AM at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN with Rev. Larry Marhanka officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 - 8 PM. Burial will be in the United Methodist Cemetery. Memorial gifts are suggested to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.

He was born June 19, 1927 in Crab Orchard, KY; the son of Marshall & Matilda (Noe) Brent. He married Eldean Sowers on January 20, 1945 in Newport, KY.

He is survived by his children Janice (Thomas) Walker of Florence, IN; Patricia (Michael) Farro of Cincinnati, OH; Lillian Moore of Cincinnati, OH; James “Tommy” (Luella) Brent of Harrison, OH and Sheila (Matthew) Harry of W. Harrison, IN; 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; sister Alice C. (Michael) Watts of Albany, KY and brother Marshall “Buddy” Brent of Somerset, KY. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his brothers Billy Perkins Brent & Arvin Brent.

Mr. Brent was a self-employed TV technician, WWII Army Veteran and member of the Milan, IN VFW.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 9, 2004 from 12 noon until time of funeral services at 1:00 PM all at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH with Rev. James Hundley officiating. Burial will be in Gibson Cemetery, Bright, IN. Memorial gifts are suggested to the Bright Fire & EMS.

She is survived by her 2 daughters Michele L. Werner and Jennifer L. Menser both of Batesville, IN and 1 son Thomas P. Buck of Greensburg, IN; 5 grandchildren Nichole Werner, Michael Menser, Angela Lansing, Amber Buck and Travis P. Buck; 1 great grandson Jaden Wayne Smith; 1 sister Mary Shafer of New Point, IN; 2 half sisters Joann Higgins Schmitt of Indianapolis, IN & Connie Newman of Texas; 3 half brothers Gayle Dugle Jr. and Robert Dugle both of Greensburg, IN and Donald Dugle of Shelbyville, KY. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by 2 brothers Denver Dugle & Paul Dugle; 2 half sisters Elizabeth Carol Shafer and Judy Dugle; 1 half brother Richard Davis and 2 step sisters Doris May Maple & Jean Reed.

Mrs. Buck was a 1944 graduate of Batesville High School, member of Batesville United Methodist Church, Ladies Aux. VFW and retired from PSI.
