Opal Carpenter, daughter of Roy Satterfield and Macie Othel (Rice) Satterfield, was death by her parents, infant daughter, Sandra Kay Keeler, infant granddaughter, Amanda Lynn Sallee, a brother, Cecil Satterfield, a son-in-law, Tim Cantrell and the fathers of her children, Dale Keeler and Junior Carpenter.
She is lovingly survived by a son, Gary Keeler, Hoquiam, Wash.; three daughters, Pam Cantrell, Fordland, Debbie Hampton and husband Marvin, Seymour, and Rhonda Sallee and husband, Mickey Ava; and eight grandchildren, Missi, Crystal, Latosha, Billy, Kassidy, Skyla, Colton and David; seven great-grandchildren, Chance, Keeley, Derick, Brittney, Koby, Blake and Asha; one sister, Thelma Melton, Republic, Mo.; five nephews; a sister-in-law, Betty Satterfield, Ava; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Graveside service for Opal will be Wednesday, Dec. 31, 10:30 a.m., at Sims born Dec. 2, 1938 in Holly, Colo., and married Charlene (Zanzig) Lee in Lakeview, Ark.
He is survived by his wife Charlene of the home in Gassville, Ark.; one step-son Christopher Lee of Valparaiso, Ind.; three grandchildren; and two sisters Maxine Stewart, of Blue Springs, and Gloria Evans, of Noble.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville. Cemetery.
Betty Jean Fossett Scott, 70

Betty Jean Fossett Scott was passed away April 12, 2005, at Sweden, Mo.
Jean death in 1977.
Jean worked several years for Charlie Williams at Ozark Action at the Douglas County Courthouse. In 1973 she began a career with the Missouri Department of Social Services, working as a caseworker in Douglas County. She retired after 20 years of service in 1993.
Jean enjoyed collecting antiques, depression glassware, traveling and going to Mexico, and being with family. Jean was a member of the Methodist Church.
Jean developed Alzheimer’s at a very young age and fought a very courageous battle, touching the lives of many people. Jean was cared for by a very special friend, Leora Graham, for the past seven years, and most recently three special ladies, Ailene Medlock, Tina Stanley and Evelyn Taylor.
Jean is survived by her two sons and spouses, Sam and Terri Fossett, of Ava, and Dannie and Chris Fossett, Jersey City, N.J.; her grandchildren, Sammy and Delbert Helton, Gabe Fossett, Mindy and Donnie Crandall, Kirby and Tara Fossett, Jeff and Courtney Fossett-Davault, Cody and Tatum Fossett, Kasi Fossett and Staci Fossett; her great-grandchildren, Allison, Ciara, Claire, Celia, Garrett-Paul, Caleb, Nate, Zoe, Tanner-Paul, and Emma Jean; her sister, Anita Dickson, of Chico, Texas; and a number of relatives and friends.
Jean was preceded in married Jim Scott, who also survives.
No formal visitation is planned. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16 at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Max Stephens officiating. Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Daniel Amasa Lyman, 13

Daniel Amasa Lyman, 13, Seymour, Mo., born the son of Blaine and Candy (McCrae) Lyman on Oct. 5, 1991, in Escalante, Utah, the seventh of 11 children.
Daniel was an energetic boy known for his affinity for reading, farming, blacksmithing, woodworking and gardening. He especially enjoyed family gatherings and church activities at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Ava.
Daniel was preceded in Cemetery.
A memorial fund for the Lyman family has been established at the Seymour Bank.
Nathaniel Benjamin Beard, 72

On Oct. 11, 1952, Nathaniel and Ada Lee Friend were death by his parents and one brother, Lo-ran Beard. Services were held Tuesday, June 15, 11 a.m., at the Clinking-beard Funeral Home, Gainesville, with E. J. Hampton officiating and burial at Souder Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
Grace Lou Gunkel, 80

She departed this life Sunday, April 17, 2005, in St. John’s Hospital in Springfield at the age of 80.
On Sept. 24, 1940, she was united in marriage to Melvan Gunkel, and to this union two daughters and three sons were death by her parents; her husband, Melvan, on Oct. 7, 1994; a brother; and a sister.
Grace is survived by three sons, William Gunkel, of Ava, Dale Gunkel, and his wife, Trudy, of Cassville, and David Gunkel, of Mansfield; two daughters, Wanda Montoya and her husband, John, of Merced, Calif., and Linda Gunkel, of Mansfield; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur Beach, of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Manuel Beach, of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Edith Lindley, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Thelma Bukovac, of the state of Pennsylvania; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was married, they made their home in Oklahoma until moving to California in 1951. While in California, she and Melvan operated a dairy farm, and lovingly began raising their family. In August 1972 the family moved to Missouri where Grace and Melvan continued in the dairy farming business. Throughout the years, Grace was always a devoted homemaker to her family.
Grace had made her profession of belief in Christ and followed the Pentecostal faith. She had been a Sunday school teacher for several years.
In her spare time she enjoyed going to yard sales. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed all of her grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, at Denney Interment was under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Mansfield.
Walter Leamon Fleetwood, 88

Walter Leamon Fleetwood, son of William Columbus and Mary Jane Cummins Fleetwood, was born. All the children preceded him in death by his parents; four brothers, William, Claude, Clyde, and Homer Fleetwood; a half brother, Jess Cummins; three sisters, Ora Mae Easley, Opal Fleetwood Davidson, and Effie Mae Cox; five half sisters, Lou Fleetwood, Minnie Bell Rippee, Mary Jane Cummins, Rachel Plumb, and Sadie Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline, of Strafford Care Center, Strafford, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews including his caregivers, Bro. Dale and Macel Cox and Jo and Bro. Bobby Simmons, Seymour.
Services were held Friday, April 8, at 2:30 p.m., in Holman-Howe Chapel, Seymour, with Bro. Gerald Allmon officiating. Burial was in the Hodge Cemetery southeast of Seymour.
