Brenda Kay (Suggs) Middlekauff the daughter of Harlan Ellis Suggs and Josephine (Hicks) Suggs, was death was due to a homicide.
For the past 20 years Brenda has been a resident of Bend, Ore., and was a former resident of Ava. Brenda was employed by Fred Meyers Dept. Store as a cashier and in the nursery department.
In August 1979 Brenda and Clyde Hill were united in marriage in Mtn. Grove. They were death.
Brenda was a Christian and attended church in Bend, Ore.
Preceding Brenda in death by her grandparents, William Nuel and Tellie Ann Hicks, William Ellis and Effie Elizabeth Schofield, and one nephew, Kevin Lee Suggs.
Brenda is survived by her mother, Josephine Suggs, Houston, Texas; three stepchildren, Clyde Alan Hill and Charlene Joy, both of Idaho, and Rhonda Grace, of California; seven step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Anna Lou Caudill, Ava, Rita S. Ege, Ozark, Dorothy Phillips, Bruner, and Linda Medlock; four brothers, Richard Lynn Suggs, Plentywood, Mont., Robert Lee Suggs, Cowgill, Mo., William Ellis Suggs, Houston, Texas, and Earl Edward Suggs, Ava; a brother-in-law, Leo Hill, Mtn. Grove, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Robert Grisham officiating. Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Carole Sund Memorial Reward Foundation at the funeral home.
Ruth Loraine McIntosh, 84

Ruth Loraine McIntosh, daughter of the late Edmond Luther and Blanche (Shanklin) Shores, was born to this union. Mr. McIntosh Cemetery, Norwood, with the Rev. Dustin Ledford officiating. Burial was in the Retherford born June 28, 1951, in Roy, Missouri, and departed this life Sept. 16, 2005 at the age of 54.
On Sept. 13, 197l, Howard and Judy Bruffett were united in marriage in Ava. Howard was a life long resident of the Goodhope area. He was employed as carpenter and was a beef cattle farmer. Howard enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved his family and friends dearly and was a dedicated husband. Howard was a gifted teacher of the Word of God.
Howard was preceded in Interment followed in the Union Grove born on August 22, 1940, in Douglas County, and death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
His survivors include six sons, Dwain Lafferty, Robert Lafferty, and John Lafferty, all of Kansas, Timothy Lafferty and Shannon Lafferty both of Bremond, Texas, and Ellis Lafferty, of California; four daughters; Barbara Lafferty, Lorene Lafferty, Patrish Lafferty all of Kansas, and Amanda Arbuckle, Springfield; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe E. Lafferty, Ava; four sisters, Lodean Hammons, Belton, Ethel Mae Johnson, Brighton, Marie Stafford, Davenport, Iowa and Ruby LeJune, Lake Charles, La.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held Wednesday, September 21, at 10 a.m., at the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, with the Revs. Keith Lafferty and Randy Sisco officiating. Cemetery.
Services were conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
Harley Lee Sexton, 87

Harley Lee Sexton, 87, of Pittsburg, Kans., born Sept. 13, 1918, in Ava, to William and Cora (Lee) Sexton. Harley's mother born, Peggy Lee and baby Lucille Sexton. Both Vivian and baby Lucille married Helen (Clark) Rhodes, in Pittsburg, Kans. She survives of the home.
Harley was preceded in born Feb. 18, 1907, in Ava, to Lu Etta Campbell Jenkins and Robert F. Jenkins. She was preceded in death of their son, they turned to their long time employee, Gene Austin, to help run Chief Realty Company. Gene and his wife, Clauddea, along with their daughter, Gena, were considered to be part of their family.
Roxena remained president of Chief Realty Company until the time of her death.
Roxena is survived by her daughter-in-law, Hilda Stith and granddaughter, Mrs. Harold (Elaine) Hunt, of Tulsa, Okla.; grandson Mark Stith of Houston, Texas; great-grandchildren Brandy and Landin; sisters Ella Stith of Ava, and Rosalind Creswell, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; brother A.W. Jenkins of Tulsa, Okla.; sisters-in-law, Inez Jenkins, of Mansfield, Oma Jenkins and Vivian Jenkins, both of Tulsa, Okla.; brother-in-law John Creswell of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her so very much.
Roxena leaves behind many loving friends from various organizations, especially those from the Chief family. She touched the lives of many and will be missed by all.
Memorials in Roxena's name may be made to one of the following: Epworth Villa Benevolent Fund, Oklahoma City, Okla., The College of the Ozarks, Point Lookout, or First Christian Church, Gainesville.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, in the Rose Hill Funeral Home Chapel, Tulsa, Okla.
