Wilford D. “W.D.” Coonts, 60

Wilford D. Coonts, son of Willard W. Coonts and Frances (Shelton) Coonts, was born. W.D. was a lifelong resident of the Ava area where he was a truck driver and in the logging business. W.D. was an Army veteran and served his country during the Vietnam War.

W.D. was preceded in Interment followed in the Evans Cemetery.

Services were conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.

Eloise Janetta Smith, 87

Eloise Janetta (Nemeth) Smith, was passed away October 27, 2005, at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 24 days. She was the daughter of Minta Edna Silva Hensley and Frank Nemeth.

Eloise death by her husband, Fred; parents, Minta and Frank; one granddaughter, Debra Kay Smith; one grandson, Terry Young; one great-granddaughter, Ivy James; four brothers, Tony Nemeth, Jack Hensley, Alex Nemeth and George Nemeth; two sisters, Bonnie Fisher and Bertha Wasylak; two son-in-laws, Roger Eccardt and Sonny James.

Survivors include her five children, Gavaughna Smith and husband Junie, Gainesville; Evalee Young and husband Ralph, Salem; Arlene Eccardt, Gainesville; Doris Coatney and husband Denver, Gainesville; and Delores James, Gainesville; ten grandchildren, Jeff Smith, Rogersville; Darin Smith, Gainesville; Cindy Campbell, Mtn. Home, Ark.; Cheryl Latham, Knoxville, Tenn.; Brian Eccardt, Peveley, Mo.; David Eccardt, Cedar Hill, Mo.; Marty Coatney, Gainesville; Paula Coatney, Gainesville; Katrina Amyx, Gainesville; and Heath James, Tecumseh. Eleven great-grandchildren, Colby Smith, Dustin Smith, Logan Smith, Shannon Robbins, Taylor Robbins, Chase Latham, Josh Eccardt, Seth Miller, Nathaniel Coatney, Sunni Amyx and Eli Amyx; one brother, Merle Hensley, Doniphan; two sisters, Gloria Bennett and Velma Spicer, both of Granite City, Ill.

Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, at the Gainesville Church of Christ, under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home of Gainesville, with Halbert Smith officiating.

Burial followed at Smith Chapel passed away at 4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, at the St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield. He was married to Golda Thurman on June 10, 1942, in Drury. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1945. Following his discharge, they moved to Wilder, Idaho and lived there for a few years. They returned to Missouri and E. T. was employed by the Missouri Highway Department. They later moved to Richville, Mo., and operated a general store for several years before moving to Mtn. Grove, where he served on the city council for many years.

E. T. was a minister for several years and a long time member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Mtn. Grove and also a member of the American Legion and Masonic Lodge. He was an avid reader and enjoyed telling stories to his family and friends about his childhood. He wrote many poems about his family and community that he lived in over the years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Golda Stout, of their home in Nixa; a daughter, Linda Collins and her husband Doyle, of Nixa; a son, Kenny Stout and his wife Vicky, of Ava; one brother, Hugh Stout, of Drury; one sister, Vernice Uhlman, of Drury; five grandchildren, Stephanie Downing and her husband Jeff, Jodi Snider and her husband Scott, Tina Boyd and her husband Andy, T. J. Stout and his wife Courtney, and Missie Keith; 12 great-grandchildren, McKanzie Downing, Jordan Downing, Colby Snider, Collin Snider, Myah Snider, Tyler Boyd, Cassey Boyd, Kennen Boyd, Gaven Keith, Braden Keith, Tidas Stout and Tator Stout.

Although E. T. has cemetery by the American Legion Post 30 with Jared Moore serving as bugler. Burial was in the Blanche passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005, in his home. He was death by his wife Rebecca, on Nov. 16, 2000. Also preceding him in Cemetery where Nelson was laid to rest beside his loving wife Rebecca. Full military honors were provided by the National Guard’s Bravo Team, Springfield.

Funeral services were under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark, with Nelson's nephew John B. Reece officiating.

Melva D. Lupton, 63

Melva D. Lupton, 63, of Ozark, born Oct. 18 1942, in Ava, the daughter of Melvin and Juanita (Putnam) Rogers.

Melva was employed by Cox South Hospital where she spent a life of service to others and extended special care as a surgery technician. She was generous with her time, talents and enjoyed reading, family photographs, crocheting, fishing and especially loved horses.

A loving mother and exceptional grandmother, Melva is survived by four children, Carla Lupton of Ozark, Charles Lupton Jr. of Ava, Gary Lupton of Sparta, and Harlan Lupton and wife, Cathy, of Billings; two sisters, Norma Stillings of Ava, and Anna Goss of Lee's Summit; one grandchild; special friend, Ken Leigh; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many caring friends. Melva was preceded in Cemetery west of Ava with the Rev. Oren Alcorn officiating, with burial under the direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark.

Alvie E. Johnson, 72
Dec 8, 2005
Alvie E. Johnson, the son of George Anderson Johnson and Gracie A. (Lawson) Johnson, was death by one brother, Willie Johnson, and five sisters, Ruth Goodnight, Eva Kastning, Lucy Parker, Mildred Turner, and Thurma Turner.

He is survived by 20 nieces and nephews; two brothers-in-law, Russell Turner, Squires, and Linlie Turner, Ellis, Kan.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Thornfield Chapel with the Rev. Tom Johnson officiating. Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava. Friends may call at their convenience.

Military graveside services will be conducted by the Webster County Veterans of Foreign Wars #4101. Memorial contributions may be made to contributor's choice.
