Paul Webster Johnston, 92, formerly of Ava, born Dec. 14, 1913, at Macomb to Noah Webster and Dora (Bolt) Johnston. On April 8, 1934, he death by his loving wife, Gladys (Willis) Johnston; his parents, Dr. Noah Webster and Dora Johnston; one brother; and one sister.
He is survived by two sons, Carl Webster Johnston and his wife Yvonne, of Austin, Texas, and Steven Brett Johnston and his wife Leigh, of Overland Park, Kans.; one daughter, Joy Crainshaw, and her husband Larry, of Shawnee, Kans.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many, many friends.
Graveside services were conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 6, 2006, at the Ava born on Aug. 22, 1927 in Smallett, and went to her heavenly home on Feb. 10, 2006, in Springfield, in Maranatha Village, at the age of 78.
Bobbie was a life long resident of the Ava community. She went to grade school at Walnut Grove and later graduated from Ava High School. On March 2, 1944, she born. She was retired from Rawlings Sporting Goods where she worked many years. After her retirement she worked part time with Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava.
Bobbie was a member of the First General Baptist Church, Ava where she had led the choir. Bobbie loved her family, her home and was devoted to her church.
Bobbie was preceded in Interment followed in the Mt. Tabor born Oct. 28, 1948, in Ozark County, Mo., to Sherman and Hazel Herd. Dallas served in the U.S. Marine Corps 1968 through 1970. He born Dec. 5, 1916, in Silver City, Iowa, and departed this life Feb. 17, 2006 in Ava, at the age of 89.
Reta was a resident of the Ava area for most of her life. On Feb. 1, 1935 Reta and Leonard Hampton were united in marriage in Ava, and to this union two daughters were death by her parents; two sisters, Reva Epps and Sylvia Smith; two brothers, Russell Brake and Ruze Brake; and her husband, Leonard.
She is survived by two daugh-ters and their spouses, Sybil and Marvin Fleetwood, and Shirley and David "Bob" Fleetwood, all of Ava; six grandchildren and their spouses, Dennis Turner and Linda, Ava, Brenda McClure and David, Morrison, Okla., Teresa and Harvey Quick, Niangua, Shalana and Stephen Frisby, Independence, Angela and Burt Williams, Corona, Calif., and Dallas Fleetwood, Springfield; 10 great-grandchil-dren, Madelyn Fleetwood, Amy Groll, Shane Turner, Shelly Galla-way, Dusty McClure, Michael Rains, Hannah, Ella, Abigail and Sammie Williams; four great-great-grandchildren, Audrey, Delia, Dylan and Kaitlyn; three sisters, Norma Cassady, Walcott, Iowa, Edith Harrison Parris, Davenport, Iowa, Ruby Richardson, Harworth, Okla.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, in the Clinking-beard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Revs. Tom Johnson and Larry Vinson officiating. Cemetery.
Ruby Opal Mitchell, 90

Ruby Opal Mitchell, daughter of George and Ethel Hughes Hamel, was Cemetery.
On July 1, 1931, in Lawrence County, Ark., she was united in marriage to Isaac Babe Mitchell, and to this union one daughter and two sons were death by her parents; her husband, Isaac, on November 30, 1986; a daughter, Betty Findley; a son, Garrell L. "Mitch" Mitchell; a grandson, Roger Huntsman; and several brothers and sisters.
Ruby is survived by a son, Bill Mitchell, and his wife, Ginny, of Springfield; two granddaughters, Michelle Shortt, and her husband, Loy, of Ava, and Cissy Banning, and her husband, Jimmy, of Springfield; a granddaughter-in-law, Debby Huntsman, of Independence; three great-grandchildren, Tara Reedy, and her husband, Matt, Courtney Allen, and Mitchell Banning; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was married, they made their home in the Walnut Ridge community until moving to Kansas City in 1956. Throughout the years, Ruby was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, and also was a seamstress until retiring. In 1977, she and Isaac built a new house in Mansfield, and made their home there. Ruby remained in her home for as long as her health allowed.
Ruby had made her profession of belief in Christ and followed the United Pentecostal faith.
In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, cooking, and reading the Bible. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruby was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend.
Michael Loy McKinney, 59

Michael Loy McKinney, son of the late Sam Houston and Lessie (Ingram) McKinney, was married to Teresa Barney on Feb. 8, 1991, in Drury. They had renewed their wedding vows at St. Leo’s Catholic Church on Dec. 8, 2005.
He was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Ava where he found a deep fulfillment, inner peace and reverence in his life through the church. He was a Christian and was ready to go when God called him.
Michael was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. His family was very important to him. He also had a Cathoula Leopard Kurr dog named Boudreau who was very special to him and they were always together.
He was preceded in cemetery by American Legion Post 30, with Jared Moore serving as bugler. Burial was in Pleasant Home Cemetery under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove.
