Funeral services for William Eugene “Bill” Pennington, Ava, formerly of Hollister, were held Monday, March 13, at the Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home, Branson.
Rev. Floyd “Bud” Arnold officiated with burial following in the Ozarks Memorial Park passed away Friday, March 10, at his home in Ava.
William was married Wilma D. Clagg on Feb. 15, 1957, in Newton, Ill., and they were blessed with seven children. Bill worked as a typesetter for a publishing company and for the Norge Manufacturing Co., in Effingham, Ill. He moved to the Taney County area in 1964 to enjoy a quieter lifestyle. Bill worked at the College of the Ozarks in the printing department and then at Silver Dollar City where he worked as an electrician until he retired. He and Wilma moved to Ava about five months ago to be closer to a son.
Bill was a Ham radio enthusiast. He was the Taney County Emergency Coordinator for the Ham radio organizations. He was a member of the Tri-Lakes Ham Radio Club and the Kimberling City Ham Radio Club.
He was preceded in passed away March 18, 2006 at the Willow Care Nursing Home in Willow Springs. She was 94 years old.
Floralee was married on Sept. 4, 1943 in St. Louis. To this union one daughter, Candice, was death by her husband, Alva; her daughter Candice Rudolph Hadley; her grandson Wayne Rudolph; and her sisters, Esther Northrup, Mary Moritz, Luella Thompson, Vernice Stecker Williamson, Ruby Stecker, and a brother John Stecker.
Graveside services for Floralee Hadley were held on March 22 at 11 a.m. in the Ava born May 29, 1945, in Spokane, Wash., to Charlie Raymond McCorquodale and Edith Inez Barnett. She was raised by her adoptive father, Stanley Eugene Hulce. She passed away in 1995. Betty moved to the Ava area in July 1998, to be near her sister and her family. She loved to read, watch movies, do needlework and ceramics.
She was preceded in interment in Decatur, Ark. Date to be announced later.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the organization of the donor's choice. Arrangements under care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ava.

Joe D. Hannaford born May 26, 1949, and death by his mother, Ivona Everett Hannaford, and his father-in-law, Gene Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; father, Samuel Lawrence Hannaford; mother-in-law, Faye Johnson; sister, Deana Martin; brother, David Hannaford; half sister, Rebecca Fairchild and husband David; son, Terry Hannaford; daughter Debbie Thomas and husband, Bobby; seven grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Services were held Wednesday, April 5, with burial in Missouri Veterans born on May 24, 1928, in the state of Iowa, and departed this life on April 8, 2006, in Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center, Ava, at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 14 days.
Leonard was a resident of the Ava community for several years.
He was a veteran and served his country with the U.S. Army, and was a member of the Eagles Lodge. He had worked as a custodian at the Ava Public Schools and also at one time owned a restaurant and a small engine repairman shop.
Leonard loved playing cards, cooking, collecting cookbooks, reading and raising a garden. He was a friend to his neighbors.
He was preceded in died peacefully April 6 at Cox South, Springfield. He had fought an 11-year battle with cancer.

In 1999 he moved to Arizona with his daughter and her family. In 2004 he relocated with them to Squires. He loved country gospel music and his dog, Buddie.
He leaves behind daughter, Myra Huff, and her husband, David, and grandson Scott Huff, all of Squires; granddaughter, Michele Hull-Lortie, and her family, of Columbia City, Ind.; daughter Janice Ashby and her husband, Dan, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; grandson, Ben Ashby and granddaughter, Jennifer Ashby, all of Fort Wayne, Ind.; daughters, Sharon Blakely and family of Arizona, and Julie Parker and family of Indiana; sons, John Harper and family of Indiana and Robert D. Harper and sons of Arizona; a sister, Norma Blough, of Indiana.
He also leaves his two best friends, Billy Harris and Ron Bailey, both of Fort Wayne, Ind.; as well as numerous other family and friends.
He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Fort Wayne, Ind.
