Kevin Scott Reed, the son of John H. Reed and Peggy Lou (Proctor) Reed, was married and to this union a son, John Brandon Reed, was married Brenda (Pierson) Frye on March l, 1985, and to this union another son was death by his father, John Henry Reed.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Peggy and Leo Litwiller, of Taneyville, a son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Summar Reed, and a son Justin Reed, two grandsons, Gavin and Blake Reed, all of Ava, a brother and sister-in-law, Johnnie and Debbie Reed, of Simpson, Kan.; a sister and brother-in-law, Shellia and Melvin Braden of Taneyville, and a sister, Kristie Glenn, of Bergman, Ark.; a special friend, Missy (Usrey) Kennedy, Gainesville; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 26, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Revs. Gary Stigall and Max Stephens officiating. Cemetery.
Visitation will be today (Thursday) from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family as a love offering. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
Gene Riggs, 76

Willie "Gene" Riggs was married in 1949, in Yakima, Wash. Gene and his family returned to the Ava area where they raised their two daughters, Carol and Sandy. He operated a trucking service between Springfield and Ava for several years and continued a delivery service after moving to the Springfield area. After retirement Gene enjoyed watching NASCAR, traveling, working in his yard and feeding the local birds.
Gene was also a charter member of Elks Lodge #2777 in Ozark, which he helped establish in 1992.
Gene is survived by his companion of 18 years, Roberta Hodges, of Springfield; his two daughters, Carol Hosier, Dallas, Texas, and Sandy and Richard Anglin, of San Diego, Calif.; three grandchildren, Jeff and Megan Hosier, Dallas, Texas, and Brian Anglin, of San Diego, Calif.; one brother, Ralph Riggs, of Moline, Ill.; and a sister, Maxine Johnson, also of Moline, Ill.
Gene was preceded in Cemetery.
Melvin (Barney) Drapich, 84

Melvin (Barney) G. Drapich, 84, Ava, born June 16, 1922, at Holms, Calif., to Samuel and Dolly Drapich.
On Sept. 4, 1960, he death by his wife, his parents, his brother, Clarence, and his stepfather, Lewis Adams.
He is survived by two sons, Bob State, of Ava, and James State and wife, Laurine, of Morgan, Calif.; a daughter, Robin Newby and her husband, Glenn, of Eureka, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister; a very special niece, Joyce Clinkingbeard; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today (Thursday) at Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Oren Alcorn officiating. Burial will be in the Ava died Feb. 6, 2005, at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences Campus, Little Rock, Ark.
She is survived by her parents; her paternal grandparents, Darrell and Sun Jenkins, of Lowell, Ark.; and her maternal grandparents, Audie and Melissa Childers, of Bella Vista, Ark.; an uncle, Robert Jenkins; an uncle and aunt, Gabriel and Stephanie Childers; and a cousin, Caden Childers.
"Atleigh, although you were short lived, you will be loved and missed as if you lived a long and healthy life. You are and always will be our perfect little princess. Love always, Mom and Dad."
A graveside service will be held Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, 2 p.m., at Elm Springs death was the result of a tractor accident.
L.C. was death by his father.
Visitation was held from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15, at Rose Hill Funeral Home, Tulsa, Okla., with burial in Rose Hill born on Dec. 19, 1959, in Sidney, Ohio, and departed this life on July 16, 2006, in his home in Squires, at the age of 46.
James was a resident of the Squires community for the past four years, moving from Sidney, Ohio. He was a veteran and served his country with the U. S. Army. On Aug. 15, 1980, James and Cynthia E. Covert were united in marriage in Sidney, Ohio, and to this union four children were death by his parents, one sister, Lisha Carol Brown and one son, Justin Allen Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia “Cindy” Brown of the home in Squires; three daughters, Barbara Ann Brown, Ava, Mary Beth and Debra Jo Brown, Squires; one sister, Debbie Brock, Somerset, Ky.; two brothers, Andy Brown, Sidney, Ohio, and George Brown, Bell Buckle, Tenn.; his father and mother-in-law, Marvin and Mary Stafford, Sidney, Ohio, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held Wednesday, July 19, at 2 p.m. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Pastor Gary Stigall officiating. Cremation followed services. The family requests memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Salvation Army in care of the funeral home.
