Joseph H. Wilson, the son of William H. Wilson and Margarete (Rose) Wilson, was born. Maxine preceded Joseph in married Melba Clements on Sept. 15, 1989 in Mtn. Home, Ark.
Joseph was also preceded in Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Johnson officiating.
Military services were conducted by the American Legion Post 112 and V.F.W Post 5993. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice.
Edna D. Currier, 97

Edna Dona Currier, daughter of John L. Turner and Lillie Mae Shipley Turner, last living one of 10 children, was born. She returned to the Ava community in 1958. Edna was a member of the Sweden Church.
Edna was preceded in Interment followed in the Sweden Cemetery.
Mary Elizabeth Caudill, 68

Mary Elizabeth Caudill, daughter of Bailey Ludwig and Iva (Robertson) Ludwig, was born.
Mary was a homemaker and member of the New Hope Freewill Baptist Church. She was a Sunday school teacher, bookkeeper, secretary, and Christmas program coordinator. Mary had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening, raising tomatoes and flowers. She loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals and most of all doing things with her daughter, Beth, and her grandchildren and her church work.
Mary was preceded in Interment followed in the Ava passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2007, in Kadlec Medical Center at Richland, Wash.
She was married on Dec. 29, 1938, at Kansas City.
They made their home in Ava until moving to Wenatchee in December 1952.
Versil attended Wenatchee Business College before going to work at the Wenatchee World. She worked at the Wenatchee World through the mid 1950s prior to opening the Corral Drive Inn in East Wenatchee in 1957.
She also worked for Lincoln Savings and Loan in Bellevue and Lincoln Federal Savings and Loan in Ephrata. She later became manager of the Peoples Bank in Mattawa, retiring in 1987.
She and her husband spent the winters in Surprise, Ariz., in their retirement.
She was preceded in married on May 11, 1991 to Richard L. Smyser, at Mattawa, Wash.
Versil attended the Baptist Church in Mattawa, was a former member and helped in the building of the Royal City First Baptist Church, was a former longtime member of the Wenatchee First Baptist Church, and a former member of the Desert Aire Golf Club.
She is survived by her husband, Richard L. Smyser, of Desert Aire, Wash.; three sons, Ron and Ruby Brixey, East Wenatchee, LeRoy and Ruth Brixey, Desert Aire, Wash., and Darrel and Linda Brixey, of Mattawa, Wash.; two stepsons, J.R. and Pat Smyser, and Rex and Lisa Smyser, all of the Tri-Cities, Wash.; one sister, Phyllis Fleetwood and husband, Ron, Ava; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Besides her first husband, she was preceded in Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Rushing officiating. A memorial service was also held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 15, in the Presbyterian Church at Desert Aire.
Friends who wish may make memorial donations in her name to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
Arrangements were in the care of Jones and Jones Funeral Home, Wenatchee, Wash.
Hester Louise Moles, 75

Hester Louise Moles, daughter of Kelley and Carrie Rhoades, was born: Victor Moles, of Mansfield, and Mrs. Trudy Underwood with her husband, Kelley, of Cincinnati, Ohio. Through her daughter, Hester has two grandchildren, Jessica Underwood Peters with her husband Andy, and Robert Underwood.
Hester and her husband entered the ministry in July of 1955.
She and John served the Oak Forest Community Church for two years before accepting a call to pastor the Highway Church of the Nazarene in Ava, in 1957. They served at the Highway church for 35 years. After retirement in 1992, they served as interim pastor at the Marshfield Church of the Nazarene for nearly five years. Hester was an outstanding pastor's wife. At the Highway Church she was known as "The Queen of the Parsonage." Hester supported her pastor husband 100 percent and was his chief encourager.
Hester's gifted role in ministry included singing, teaching, praying and entertaining with those delicious home cooked meals. She taught the "Home Builders" Sunday School class for over 25 years.
As John has said: "God gave me a wonderful wife. He put us together on a fabulous journey that leads to a building of God, made with hands eternal in the heavens. Our loss is Heaven's gain."
Hester, one of 15 children, was preceded in Interment will follow in the Oak Forest Cemetery. Visitation will be today (Thursday) from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
