Patricia “Patti” Sue Eddins
Patricia “Patti” Sue Eddins, age 68, of Sunrise Beach, born June 12, 1937, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of William F. and Harriet Morash Eisman. She was united in marriage on June 2, 1983, in Liberty, Missouri, with Ralph Eddins, who survives of the home. Patti worked most of her life as a dental technician. In her spare time, she loved to read, write poetry, and listen and sing to music. In addition to her husband, she is survived by five sisters, Madelyn Fotovich of Kansas City, Kansas, Dorothy Fritz and husband Delbert of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Jean Hunziker of Riverside, California, Phyllis Schmalz and husband James of Kansas City, Kansas, and Aileen Leach and husband Murrell of Independence, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 10, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Laurie. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 9, at the funeral home. Cemetery in Laurie. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Laurie.

Opal Ruth Mack
Opal Ruth Mack, age 87, of Sunrise Beach, born February 18, 1918 at Freeburg, Missouri, the daughter of Martin Luther and Eleanor Hulda Clarkson Bailey. She was united in marriage on February 21, 1942 with James L. Mack Sr., who preceded her in death by one brother and two sisters. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, at the Ortmann-Stipanovich Funeral Home in Creve Coeur. Cemetery in Bridgeton. Arrangements were under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Laurie.

Deanna Jo (Dye) Smith
Deanna Jo (Dye) Smith, age 44, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, born April 19, 1961 in Salina, Kansas, on her father’s birthday. She was known to her friends as “Dee.” Her parents are Bobbie and Elan Olson Dye, of Assaria, Kansas. She is survived by her parents, her sister, Ronda Russell, of Assaria, Kansas, her brother-in-law, Randy Russell and her nephew, Ryan Russell, also of Assaria, Kansas; Other family members include her uncle and aunt, Bill and Helen Dye, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, her uncle and aunt, Clarence and Brenda Dye, of Farmington, New Mexico, her aunt, Kathy Johnson of Lincoln, Nebraska, and her aunt, Jolene Dye, of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Deanna is also survived by her fiancé, Howard Waldrop, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, and many loving cousins and friends. Deanna was raised on a farm east of Assaria, Kansas, where her passion for the outdoors began. She loved horses and dogs. She learned to hunt and fish in her early teens and soon became an accomplished sportswoman. Deanna was baptized, confirmed and married in 1997. Deanna’s world focused on hard work and enjoying life to the fullest. She spent most of her time waitressing, but often held-down two or more jobs. She also worked in retail-sales, construction and plumbing. Deanna’s leisure hours were spent gardening, canning, hunting and picking blackberries. She loved her dogs. They were her constant companions, often sharing a fondness reserved for close family and friends. Deanna loved life and the lake. She enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. She could always be counted on to lend an ear, give a hand, share a smile or offer encouragement. She greatly looked forward to beginning a new life at her new lake home with her new husband, Howard, and his sons Chris and Aaron. Deanna will be greatly missed. Although she left us much too young and much too soon, her family knows that God needs special people, like Deanna, in heaven. If there are blackberry bushes in heaven, we know that God will be having jelly on his toast. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, May 14, 2005 at Cross Road Church near Sunrise Beach with Tony Corado officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, May 13, 2005 at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Laurie. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Humane Society or Cross Road Church Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie-Sunrise Beach Chapel. (573) 374-7688

Herbert W. Laughlin
Herbert W. Laughlin, age 92, of Laurie, MO, formerly of Wheatland, born October 17, 1912 at Stilwell, Kansas, the son of Jesse and Cora Bell Feltingberger Laughlin. He was united in marriage on December 18, 1937 with Edna Mildred Hanson, who preceded him in Cemetery near Wheatland, MO, with Dr. Jim Sutherlin officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Laurie. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Edna M. and Herbert W. Laughlin Legacy Youth Fund, c/o West Lake Christian Church in Laurie. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Laurie.

JUDY ANN EHRHARDT
Judy Ann Ehrhardt, age 66, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend born July 15, 1939 in Independence, MO to Ima Jean and Chester Marler. She and Thurman J. Ehrhardt were death by her mother, Ima Jean Sebastian, her father Chester Marler, her stepfather James R. Sebastian and her brother Larry Marler. Graveside services will be at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, at Garber Memorial Estates passed away Friday morning, May 13, 2005 at Christian Health Care Center in Nixa. She was married Herschel Kays who preceded her in married Harley Morris, who also preceded her in death by two sons, Bill and Donald Kays, one brother, Alva Witherell, and one sister, Dorothy Friedley. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 16, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles, with Rev. Rod Campbell officiating. The vocal recording of “Peace In The Valley” was played. Cemetery near Barnett. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.

Donna Jean Haley
Donna Jean Haley, age 52, of Gravois Mills, born May 6, 1953 in Worcester, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Harold and June Singer Chevalier. She had worked as a certified nurses aide at Laurie Care Center in Laurie. She is survived by three sons, Frank Chevalier and Kenny Palmer, both of Springfield, and Robbie Chevalier of Maryville; one daughter, Denise Gibson of Massachusetts; five brothers, Gary Chevalier and James Chevalier of Millbury, Massachusetts, Ronnie Chevalier of Worcester, Massachusetts, Bruce Chevalier of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, and Steve Chevalier of Texas; two sisters, Sharon Chevalier and Sandra Ballard of Gravois Mills, and six grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 22, at Sunrise Bible Church in Sunrise Beach, with Pastor Nick Stutesman officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Donna Jean Haley Memorial Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Laurie.
