CONKLIN, RUTH JEAN

Ruth Jean Conklin of Suffern NY passed away April 11, 2008 at the age of 83. Born November 29, 1924 in Sloatsburg, NY to Meyers and Cora Bell Conklin Ruth was retired from Avon Products in Suffern, NY. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Platt and her husband Alexander of Hiram, Ga., two sisters Marion English and her husband William of Wayne, NJ and Evelyn Slawson of Brick, NJ, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews survive her, she was pre-deceased by one sister Ethel Hedges and one brother Ernest Conklin. Friends and relatives are invited on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Scarr Funeral Home Inc Route 202 Suffern, Ruth's Funeral Service will be held at 8:30 PM at the Funeral Home. DELILLO, MARY

DeLillo, Mary (nee Bizzoco), a resident of Sky View Nursing Home, Croton-On-Hudson, NY, for the last 17 years, passed into the arms of our Lord on April 12, 2008. Mary was born on June 17, 1910 in NYC to Frank and Anna (Miraglia) Bizzoco, Cherished mother of Vita (Joseph) Pagliaro, Anna (Joseph) Napoletano, Vincent (Monika) and Louise (John) Marsalisi. Loving grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. While living in the Bronx, Mary worked for many years as a seamstress. She was also a very avid crochter. Mary moved to New Rochelle where she lived among friends and enjoyed participating in all the activities of the Senior Citizens Community at 35 Maple Ave. She was a regular communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, and was a member of the Catholic Daughters Society. Mary was a dedicated foster grandmother at Blessed Sacrament Elementary School, from 1975 to 1986. Mary received many awards for her community service. Her greatest award was when she was out shopping and some of the children that she had helped, would shout to her "Hi Grandma". Mary will always be remembered for her love for everyone, her gentleness, and her generosity. The family is grateful for the loving care of our mother, received while residing at Sky View. Especially for her primary care giver Hillary. Visiting at the Flynn Memorial Home Inc. (1652 Central Park Ave.) Monday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. FREY, HERMAN W.

Herman W. Frey of Hillsboro, NH passed away April 6th, 2008. He was 92, and is survived by: Three Children; Kathleen Alexander of Palo Alto, CA, Thomas Frey of Centerville OH, (wife Vanessa) and Kristine Frey of Hillsboro; as well as his daughter-in-law Maureen Frey of Southaven, MS. and five grandchildren, Josette Shipley, Jennifer Michaelis, Colleen Clark, Alicyn Fischetti, and Eric W. Frey. Herman is pre-deceased by his beloved wife Kathleen and son Eric. He is also survived by nephews Daniel, Patrick and David Wheeler, and nieces Susan Sklerov, and Diane Eldridge as well as four great-grandchildren. Herman Frey graduated from Springfield College in 1939, where he was elected captain of the football team, played baseball and boxed. He went on to win numerous awards as a coach of baseball, football, and swimming during a teaching career spanning more than thirty years; most of it at White Plains High School in White Plains NY. In one 17 year stretch of the New York High School sectional championships, his swimming teams won first place 10 times and 2nd place 3 times. He was the first coach in Westchester County N.Y. to receive "Coach of the Year" awards in two different sports in the same year. His baseball teams won nine league championships. Herman also earned a masters degree from NYU in 1955. He retired to Hilllsboro in 1984, overlooking Pierce Lake, and here he will rest in peace. The funeral service is April 12th at the Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Hillsboro NH.

GIURICEO, ANTHONY RICHARD

Anthony Richard Giuriceo passed on April 10th at St. John's Riverside Hospital in Yonkers at the age of 84 following a long illness. Anthony (Andy) was born September 3, 1923 to Anna and Clement Giuriceo of Bronx, NY. Anthony was a WWII US Army Vet, Private First Class having fought in the Western Pacific. He was a Bronze Star recipient. Before his service in the war, Anthony played professional baseball and was drafted to the Majors the same week he was called into service for his country. He was also a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. Anthony was a member of the Brick Layers and Allied Craft Workers Union Local 5 NY for over 50 years and was a stone mason and construction foreman. Beloved husband of Josephine (nee Passantino). They were married April 27, 1946 upon his return from the war and have been married for more than 61 years. Loving father of Andrea Thoma (Gregory), Elissa Locatelli and Janine Rose. Devoted grandfather of Tiffany, Gregory II and Christopher Thoma and Melissa, Tricia and Michael Locatelli. Dear brother of Marie Giuriceo, Jean Sullivan Goresen and Raymond Giuriceo. Also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Anthony was a good man of principal and patience. His respect for others was only superseded by his reverence of God. He carried the World Atlas and Daily Almanac around in his head. During his lengthy illness the long awaited victories of his beloved Mets and Giants buoyed his spirits. Dad lived by the golden rule. He was our gold standard! Family will receive friends Saturday 7-9 pm and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME INC. 5628 Broadway at W 232nd Street Bronx. GROSSMAN, KENNETH

Kenneth Grossman, 75, died April 10, 2008, in Louisville, Kentucky. He was a retired Army Reserve Lieutenant Colonel with the Judge Advocate General Office. He was on the Planning Board of Paramus, an Active Member of the City of Paramus, New Jersey and first to serve before the Supreme Court of the USA. He was a member of the Jewish War Veterans, Paramus Democratic Club and MOA. He was also a member of The Temple in Louisville, KY, and the Jewish Community Center of Paramus. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Grossman, of Louisville, KY; two daughters, Stacey (Bill) Rothballer, of Peewee Valley, KY; and Wendy (Evan) Kroner, of Nanuet, NY; grandson Aaron Rothballer; and two granddaughters, Sarah Rothballer and Jessica Kroner. The funeral will be held Monday, April 14, at 12:30, at Louis Suburban Chapels at 13-01 Broadway, Fair Lawn, NJ.

IZZILLO, ANGELINA

Angelina Izzillo, a long time resident of New Rochelle died on April 11, 2008 at Sound Shore Medical Center. Angelina was the beloved daughter of the late Savino and Carmela DeBellis Izzillo. Angie attended New Rochelle School and worked for The New Rochelle Water Co. for 35 years as a Teller. She will be most remembered for being generous and for her love and wonderful way with children. Calling hours are Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at N. Cancro Inc. F.H. The Funeral Mass is Monday 10 AM at St. Joseph Church. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. N. CANCRO INC. Harvard Class of 1945, Army Air Force B-24 navigator WWII, with 35 missions, construction executive, public servant, member Old Guard of WP.
