LICATO, JANICE

Janice Licato, who embraced life to the fullest despite her health challenges, passed away May 4, 2008 at age 71. Born April 17, 1937 to Powell & Marilyn Cohen. She worked as a secretary for James Burns in Poughkeepsie. Beloved wife of the late Leonard Licato. She is survived by her loving children, Mitchell (Lisa) Usavich, Cindy Stembel (Norman Rosenblum) and Sheri Candrea (Derek Williams). Janice lived for her cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Brian and Corey Usavich and Jillian Ruggerio and her brother Daniel Cohen. Visitation Tuesday 5-9pm, with a service beginning at 8pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767 E. Boston Post Rd., Mamaroneck. 914-698-5968. Committal will be private.

LOHSE, MARJORIE

Marjorie Lohse died at home on May 2, 2008. Daughter of the late Rudolph and Ivy Lohse, Marge grew up in Erie, PA. She moved to NYC in the 1950s and to Greenburgh in Westchester County, NY in 1987. Following a Master's Degree from New York University she held positions with various non-profit agencies and worked for over 30 years as a social worker at Blythedale Children's Hospital. Marge's family includes her beloved sister, Jane Kressel, brothers, James Lohse, and the late Robert Lohse, sister-in-law Dorothy Lohse, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. For more than 20 years she shared a home with loving friends Marcia Gellert, Marion Heim and the late Chris Williams. Marge's interests and talents were many. She loved old books, gardening, cooking, puttering, the arts, politics, family and friends. Visitation and service will be at the COFFEY FUNERAL HOME, 91 North Broadway, Tarrytown on Tuesday, May 6 at 11AM with service to follow at 12. OLIVER, HAROLD W.

Harold W. Oliver passed away on April 9, 2008. He was born in Miami, Florida on October 9, 1944 to Harold & Ethelyn Oliver. Harold has been a resident of Rockland Co. since 1978, prior Bronx, N.Y. He was a New York City Transit Police Officer for 20 years, retiring in 1987. Harold is survived by his loving wife Sarah, his son Mark & his wife Mary. He will be missed dearly by his grandson Jonah. Also surviving is his mother Ethelyn, his brothers Glenn & his wife Shirley & Paul, his sister Gina Dunston & Hope & her husband Eugene. Harold is also survived by many nieces, nephews & grandnieces and nephews. Visiting will be held on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at HIGGINS FUNERAL HOME, NEW CITY, N.Y. MORIARTY, JOHN JOSEPH

John Joseph Moriarty died on April 11, 2008 with his loving wife Anita at his side. John was born March 18, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY to Irish immigrants the late Denis and Catherine Moriarty. John graduated from Brooklyn Prep and Fordham University. He was a 20 year member of the New York Police Department, Bedford Stuyvesant, 83rd Precinct, and 104th Precinct retiring at the rank of Detective. He was then a Special Agent for American Express for 18 years and later a bus driver for Chestnut Ridge Transportation for 12 years where the school children loved him. John always had a great sense of humor and was loved by all. In addition to his wife Anita Dettenrieder Moriarty John is survived by his five children of whom he was very proud; Kevin and wife Nancy, Denis and wife Deirdre, Christine Moriarty Brophy and husband Thomas, Maryanne Moriarty Franzel and husband Jeff and Lorayne R. Dahowski and her husband Mark. He was the loving grandfather to Daniel, Tara, Megan, Declan, Devin, Thomas, Shannon, Brian, Sean, Jennifer, Danielle, Stephanie, and Kyle. He was the dear brother of the late Vincent Moriarty, M.D. Loyola Shea and Denis Moriarty. Visiting will be held Sunday 2-4, 7-9 PM at the Assumma-Shankey Funeral Home, 34 No. Summit Street, Pearl River, NY. Mass of Christian Burial Monday 10 AM St. Margarets Church, Pearl River. Interment Ascension Cemetery, Airmont, NY. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of John where his children will walk for Alzheimer's in New Milford, CT on May 3, 2008. NOTTAGE, RUTH LOTHROP

Ruth Lothrop Nottage, 96, died January 21, 2008, in Exeter, NH. Born February 28, 1911, in Boston, daughter of Roy M. and E. Maude Lothrop. Married to the late Paul Hackett Nottage and a longtime resident of Scarsdale and Hartsdale, she was Scarsdale Citizen of the Year in 1986. Active in Girl Scouts and Burke Foundation, she was a Life Member of the Scarsdale Woman's Club, the DAR, The Society of Mayflower Descendants and a past member of The Scarsdale Golf Club. Predeceased by two brothers, she is survived by three daughters Paula N. Boyd, Pamela N. Mueller, Cynthia Nottage, grandchildren Douglas Boyd, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. OKA, MASAMICHI

Dr. Masamichi Oka, a staff member of North Shore Hospital Medical Center until 1990 died on April 9, 2008 at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center, Bronx, NY. He had been a resident at the Schervier Nursing Care Center since November, 2005. He is survived by his wife Dr. Yasu Oka, daughters Marie Oka, Lisa Flynn and her husband John and five granddaughters, Christina, Ashley, Courtney, Kelly and Joli.

MURPHY, SHIRLEY

Shirley Murphy of Dowling Gardens, Sparkill. Formerly of Blauvelt on April 12, 2008. She was a clerk for Becton Dickinson, Orangeburg. An avid Yankee fan and loved bowling and bingo. Beloved wife of the late Albert, died 1957. Devoted mother of Thomas and his wife Kathleen and the late James Murphy, died 1995. Dear mother-in-law of Evelyn Murphy.
