PIERRO, THOMAS ANTHONY
Thomas Anthony Pierro, 67, passed away at home on Saturday, March 10, 2007. Born in Yonkers on February 15, 1940, he was the son of Anthony Henry and Nina Cina Pierro. Tom served in the US Army from 1958 to 1959 and retired from Con Edison. Survived by his daughter, Lisa Sullivan and her husband Tim of Bushkill, PA; son, Thomas Pierro of Aberdeen, NC; son, Chris Pierro and his wife, Eva of Hyde Park, NY; daughter, Suzanne Harding and her husband Paul of LaGrangeville; sister, Terry Forsdick of CT; brother, Vincent Pierro of TX; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Diane Egloff. Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 12th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Homes, Inc. 900 Route 82, Hopewell Jct., NY 12533. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 13th at Blessed Kateri Church, Route 82, LaGrangeville, NY.

AVERSA, MARY ANN
Mary Ann Aversa, 72 of Port St. Lucie, Florida, died March 1, 2007 at St. Lucie Medical Center, Port Lucie. Born in the Bronx, New York, she had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for 12 years, coming from Orangeburg, NY. She was a homemaker and had worked for 10 years for New York Telephone. She married her high school sweetheart on May 18, 1957 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Bronx, NY. She was a member St. Bernadette Catholic Church, St. Lucie West and the Italian American Club and Canasta Club at King's Isle, St. Lucie West, FL. She enjoyed her friends and family and considered herself to be blessed in this life. She is remembered for her wonderful cooking, baking and NY Yankee statistics. Survivors include her husband Arthur Aversa of Port St. Lucie; sons, Arthur Aversa, daughter-in-law Alison, Richard Aversa of Port St. Lucie, FL and Robert Aversa, daughter-in-law Lisa of Tuxedo, NY. Grandchildren, Nicolas and Samantha of Chester, NY. She was predeceased by her brother Frank Messina. There will be a visitation at the Moritz Funeral Home, 98 Rt 303, Tappan, NY, on Monday March 5, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Grave side service 10 am Tuesday at Oak Hill Cemetery, Nyack, NY. CARLTON, JANIE ELIZABETH
Janie Elizabeth Carlton, of White Plains, NY passed away on February 28, 2007 at White Plains Center for Nursing Care. She was 89. Services will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at Bethel Baptist Church, 1 Fisher Court, White Plains, NY. Wake 10:00-11:00 am immediately followed by funeral at 11 a.m.

CASARELLA, MARIA G.
Maria G. Casarella, 92, of West Harrison, died on March 2, 2007. Maria was born March 10, 1914 in Italy to Rosa Petrillo and Angelo DiMarino. She married Frank Casarella in 1932. Maria was predeceased by her husband Frank on October 27, 1994. She is survived by three sons; Dominick Casarella of Valhalla, Angelo Casarella of Yonkers, Michael Casarella of Cortlandt Manor, and one daughter, Maria DiMarino of West Harrison. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Maria was predeceased by two brothers, Ralph and Michael DeMarino. Maria, a homemaker, was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church in West Harrison. She moved to West Harrison from Mt. Vernon in 1974. Visitation, Sunday and Monday, 5 to 9 PM, at McMahon, Lyon & Hartnett Funeral Home, Inc. Mass Tuesday, 10 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, West Harrison. Entombment Ferncliff Mausoleum, Hartsdale. CASTEL, CLARENCE R. SR."BEEF"
Clarence R. "Beef" Castel, Sr., a longtime business leader in Nyack passed away peacefully at his winter home in Fort Myers, FL. He was 78. Beef came to Nyack in the late 1940's and was known for his decades of involvement in civic affairs, including Israel Bonds and Rotary. Mr. Castel enjoyed many careers over his lifetime, he was a Chaplain in the Army and Navy. He then started his business career at the Nyack Bank and Trust Co, moved on to executive positions within the Title Industry. In 1944, Mr. Castel became Vice-President of Corporate Development and later Executive Director of the Nyack Hospital Foundation, a position he held until retiring in 2003. Mr. Castel was predeceased in death by his wife, Alice "Jake" Castel who died in 1994. He is survived by two sons, Ray Castel (Kelly) of New City and Dr. Joseph Castel (Beth) of Pennsylvania and his "best friend" and beloved Grandson, Tre Castel, also of New City. He is also survived by cherished family members, Emily and Luke Readler of Pennsylvania, sisters, Reba, Leona, Lillian and Mildred and brothers, John and Robert Castel, all of Pennsylvania and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements are being handled by the Hannemann Funeral Home in Nyack. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral will be held at 10:00 am Monday at the Clarkstown Reformed Church, 107 Strawtown Road, West Nyack, NY 10994. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations can be made to the Clarkstown Reformed Church.

KASKAWITS, TAMMY
Tammy Kaskawits passed away March 1, 2007. She was born Temenuga Razgha on December 15, 1951 in Bratislava, Slovakia. At 16 years old, she immigrated to the U.S. with her parents and brother. In 1978 she married Richard Kaskawits and they later raised two boys together. Tammy fought stomach cancer for over two years. But, for a majority of that time she was able to enjoy life by her standards and not once made people feel sorry for her. On Thursday evening, she passed peacefully and painlessly in the arms of her husband and two children.Tammy approached life with fearless courage and each person who knew her should use her battle as a source of inspiration. As an optometrist, she founded/operated Armonk Vision Care and was a devoted board member of the Woodlands Community Temple. She is survived by her loving husband Richard, her two beloved sons Daniel and Stephen, her father Paul and brother Karl. Her mother Mina predeceased her. Funeral services: 10:00 AM, Monday, Woodlands Community Temple, 50 Worthington Rd., White Plains.
