FUMERO, ALBERTO
Alberto Fumero, a resident of Port Chester, died March 10, 2007. He was 89 and was born September 23, 1917 in Cuba to the late Julian and Maria Fumero. He was raised and educated in Cuba. He was married in Cuba to Teresa Labrador on June 8, 1940. Mrs. Fumero died March 3, 1993. They immigrated to the United States in 1966. Mr. Fumero worked for 12 years at Silray Furniture and for eight years at Tunicks Furniture in Port Chester. He is survived by his son, E. Carlos Fumero and his wife Leovi of Port Chester, grandchildren Carlos A. Fumero of New Rochelle, NY and Laura A. Carpenter of Warwick, NY, great-grandchildren Damian Fumero and Steven and Michael Carpenter. He is also survived by a sister, nephews and nieces in Cuba. Visitation will be 5 to 9 PM Today, Monday, March 12, 2007 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Funeral Service will be 9:30 AM Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at the Funeral Home. GUEVARA, ESTHER
Esther Guevara of Yonkers passed away on March 11, 2007. She was born on September 19, 1928 in ElSalvador to Jose and Isabel Guevara Elias. She was a 30 year resident of Yonkers prior to that ElSalvador. Esther worked as a seamstress for Michael Tenore Garments in Yonkers. She was a member of Club 13 of Nepperhan Avenue and 1st Baptist Church of Yonkers. She is predeceased by her brother Donaldo. Survivors include two sons, Jose G. (Annabel) Ramos of Tarrytown, Roberto (Roxana) Ramos of Yonkers, a daughter Sona (Rafael) Fajardo of Yonkers, two sisters Gloria Paredes and Isabel Elias both of Elsalvador, 9 grandchildren, Mary, Jennifer, Janina, Erick, Gabriel, Jessel, Maynor, Yesenia and Chelsea, two great grandchildren Kyle and Brianna. Visiting will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9PM. Services will be held Tuesday evening at the funeral home, interment will be private. HORNBECK, ELAINE V.
Elaine V. Hornbeck of Yonkers passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 11, 2007. She was born on July 25, 1943 in Yonkers to Stephen and Verna Halkovitch Fedor. Elaine was a lifelong Yonkers resident who was raised and educated locally in Yonkers. She married her loving husband, Robert Hornbeck, on May 1, 1966. Elaine worked for the Yonkers Public Schools for 20 years as a Teacher's Aide. She is predeceased by a sister, Mary Ann DiBernardino, and a brother, John Fedor. Elaine is survived by her loving husband Robert of Yonkers, her cherished children, Robert Hornbeck Jr. of Yonkers and Kim Maria Hornbeck of Yonkers, her beloved brothers and sisters, Steven Fedor of Purceville, VA, Richard Fedor of Wappingers Falls, NY, Robert Fedor of Fishkill, NY, Anna May Patterson of Brunswick, GA, Terry Tocci of Hopewell Junction, NY and several adored nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Elaine on Wednesday at 11 AM at the Most Holy Trinity Church in Yonkers with interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Yonkers. HORSTMAN, AGNES B.
Agnes B. Horstman of Mt Vernon, NY and a long time resident of Larchmont, NY died peacefully on March 10, 2007 at the age of 98. Mrs Horstman is survived by her daughter Diane Eising (Richard) of Rye, NY her granddaughter, Leigh Gannan (Matthew) of Boulder, Colorado and her grandson, Robert Eising (Alexandra) of New York City. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Frederick Horstman and her son, Charles Frank Horstman. Visitation at Fox Funeral Home, 2080 Boston Post Road in Larchmont on Wednesday, March 14 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Service 10 am on Thursday March, 15 at Fox Funeral Home. BUHLER, ANNA MAGDALENA
Anna Magdalena Buhler formerly of Yonkers died February 25, 2007 at the age of 76. She was a bookkeeper and an accomplished artist. She was the loving mother of Mark D. Buhler of White Plains. ALGOZZINO, ANGELINA
Angelina Algozzino of Pomona, NY died Sunday, January 14, 2007 at Northern Manor Nursing Home. She was 81. Angelina was born July 11, 1925 in Brooklyn to John and Rose D'Ambrosio. She worked as a clerk for Licthers Clothing Store in Haverstraw for many years. Angelina is survived by her son Salvatore and his companion Janice Schassler, daughter Rosemarie and her husband Dean Hudson, grandchildren Joseph and his fiancee Danielle Bibbo, Christopher Algozzino, Dina and her husband Joe Richter. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Joey and Anthony Richter, brothers Anthony and John D'Ambrosio, and many nieces and nephews. Angelina is predeceased by her husband Joseph in 2006, daughter-in-law Mary in 2001, and brother Nick in 2003. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4, 7-9 p.m. at the T.J. BURDI, FRED R.
Fred R. Burdi of Tarrytown, formerly of Greenburgh, died on Sunday, January 14, 2007 at Cedar Manor in Ossining, NY. He was 82. Mr. Burdi worked as a General Credit Manager for Duffy Mott Co. in New York, NY. He was with the company for 38 years before retiring in 1988. Mr. Burdi was born August 7, 1924 in Lewiston, ME to Michael and Nancy Ferracci Burdi. He was educated in Mt. Vernon and graduated from A.B. Davis High School in 1942. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from St. John's University, Brooklyn, NY, in 1965. Mr. Burdi served in the Army from 1943 to 1946 during World War II. On June 11, 1960, he married Lillian Beckhardt at St. Mary's Church in Mt. Vernon, NY. Mr. Burdi lived in Tarrytown, NY for the past five years. Before that, he lived in Greenburgh, NY from 1965 to 2001. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Burdi of Tarrytown, NY, son Douglas Burdi of Arlington, MA, daughter Suzanne McShane of Chappaqua, NY, granddaughters, Allison Burdi of Arlington, MA and Sarah McShane of Chappaqua, NY, and grandson Christopher McShane of Chappaqua, NY. Calling hours are on Wednesday, January 17, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Dwyer Funeral Home, Tarrytown. The funeral is Thursday, 11 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
