BRYANT, LORAINE J.

Loraine J. Bryant, a 42-year resident of Pearl River, NY died Friday September 5, 2008 after a short illness. She was 85. Loraine was born on March 14, 1923 in Buffalo, NY to the late Henry and Lucille Jackson. Loraine had been active in the Girl Scouts, various social organizations and clubs and many church and community activities. She had also delivered for Meals on Wheels for 25 years. She is survived by her husband Walter E. Bryant, three children, Gary Bryant of Mesa, AZ, Christine Bonna of Monmouth Junction, NJ and David Bryant of Hawthorne, NJ and five grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brother Roger Jackson. Visiting is Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc. A memorial service will be held 8:45PM at the funeral home. Service of the Columbarium Garden at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Pearl River, NY at a later date. BUTLER, MICHAEL J.

Michael Joseph Butler died peacefully on September 3, 2008 at home in Fort Pierce, Florida. He was born in New York City in 1923 and lived in Stony Point, NY before moving to South Hutchinson Island, Ft. Pierce, Florida. Michael served in the Merchant Marine in 1943 and as an Army tech Sergeant in the Philippines during WWII. He was an ironworker in the New York City area, working on many historic buildings including the World Trade Center. He was a lifetime member of Ironworkers Local #580. He was an honored member and former commander of the Elks Lodge #877 of Haverstraw and was a member of the American Legion Post #130 in Haverstraw. He became a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church after moving to Florida in 2003. A Memorial Mass celebrating his life has been scheduled. He is survived by his wife Kathy Jean Butler, a stepdaughter Deanne M. Wright of Fort Pierce Florida, a sister Marguerette Neihaus of Evansville, IN, two brothers Paul Butler of Albuquerque, NM, and Daniel Butler of Blauvelt, NY. Two beloved grandsons Raymond Dale Wright III and Michael Gregory Wright. He was the beloved uncle of many nieces, nephews and godchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years Mary Lavelle Butler, and his sisters Ann Stisser and Rosemary McGettigan. Friends may call on Sunday September 7, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at T.J McGowan Sons Funeral Home, GARNERVILLE. Leo Laders American Legion Post #130 will hold a service at 7:30 PM and the Haverstraw Elks will hold services at 8 PM on Sunday evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday September 8, 2008 at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Stony Point, NY. CUOMO, JOSEPH

Joseph Cuomo entered into eternal rest Friday September 5, 2008 at the age of 84. He was born September 13, 1923 in New York City to Theresa (Scalera) and Nicholas Cuomo. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Constance LaForte in 1988. He is survived by his sons Dan and his wife Kathy Cuomo of Suffern, Joseph and his wife Linda Cuomo of Mahopac and Gerald and his wife Susan of Rochelle Park, NJ. Joseph is also survived by his brothers Gerald and Nicholas Cuomo of the Bronx, his beloved companion of 19 years, Connie Friedman of Spring Valley, his grandchildren Danny, Dawn, Lisa and Lynne and eight great-grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to call Sunday September 7, 2008 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Rt. 59, Suffern, NY.

DEFRANCESCO, ANDREW

Andrew DeFrancesco, a longtime Hastings-on-Hudson, NY resident, died peacefully on September 6, 2008 at the age of 90. Andrew was a decorated WWII Army veteran who snuck behind enemy lines to draw terrain to supplement ariel photos. He was a member of the Riverview Manor Fire Company in Hastings since 1955 and served as Captain in 1959. He was a former member of the first aid squad. He was the owner of Marazee Studios up until the 1980's, much of his work were photos and drawings for the JC Penny Catalog. Andrew also loved to travel. Husband of the late Pierina DeFrancesco, beloved father of Paul (Chris) DeFrancesco, and Andrew DeFrancesco. Loving Grandfather of Dennis (Helen) DeFrancesco, Joseph (Carol) DeFrancesco and Briana DeFrancesco. He is also survived by his in-laws Mae DeFrancesco, Pat Ferris, Catherine Marinelli, Bob and Doris Mischak, Evie Marinelli, Anne McDeed and countless nieces and nephews. DEPEW, HELEN C.

Helen Catherine Depew, 80, died September 6, 2008. She was born in Yonkers on July 27, 1928, to Michael and Rose Ciarletto Costable. She was a longtime clerk at the F. W. Woolworth's store in Peekskill. She also worked for many years at Tessy's Deli, and owned and operated it for over a decade until her retirement in the early 1990's. She is survived by her son, Donald P. Depew of Crompond, sister Louise Costable of Cortlandt Manor, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond in 1991, brothers James, Patrick, Carmen and John, and sisters Anna and Rose. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 9 from 4PM until 8 PM at the E.O. Curry Funeral Home, Inc. FISCHER, KATHRYN (KAY) GAHAN

Kathryn (Kay) Gahan Fischer of White Plains, NY, passed away peacefully on September 6th at White Plains Hospital. Kay was born April 11, 1919 in NYC to Mary Doran and William G. Gahan, the eldest of two children. She worked at Mobil Oil Corporation, retiring in 1979, after a career spanning more than three decades, where she served as an administrative assistant to the Executive Board. Kay was predeceased by her husband Edward P. Fischer and her brother James J. Gahan. She is survived by a step daughter Margaret O'Grady and her husband Terence of Wellington, FL; three step-granddaughters; Maureen (Mark) Delano of Briarcliff Manor, Ellen (Tom) Maloney of Granite Springs, NY and Catherine (Albert) Jahn of Lancaster, PA. Also 10 step great-grandchildren. Visitation is Monday 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Interment to follow at St Mary's Cemetery in Flushing, Queens.
