Virginia T. Fredericks (nee Conway) was born in the Bronx, NY to Anna and Walter Conway on February 23, 1922. She lived there until her marriage to Russell Fredricks on January 14, 1961 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Pelham Manor, NY. She graduated from Academy of Mt. St. Ursula in the Bronx 1938, and College of New Rochelle in 1942 and graduate of American Institute of Banking. She was employed in the Passenger Department of New York Central Railroad 1944-1961. She began her banking career with National Bank of Westchester in 1961 after moving to Mt. Kisco. She was manager and assistant vice president in the Crossroads Branch of N.B.W. for 18 years, and manager of Somers Branch for two years, prior to her retirement in 1985 after spending 23 years serving N.B.W. Lincoln First and Chase Bank. During those years, she was a member of Mt. Kisco Board of Ethics, Mt. Kisco Beautification Committee and a volunteer for Mt. Kisco Fish Organization. She was on the board of directors of Mt. Kisco Chamber of Commerce from 1976-1982. She also maintained a summer home in Long Beach, NY until 1989. She loved traveling all over the U.S. and abroad including over 25 cruises. Her husband, Russell Fredericks predeceased her in May 1991. Virginia is survived by her daughter Doris Bray of Hamer, S.C. whom she loved dearly, and by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren of SC, FL and VT. Her sister Loretta Conway predeceased her in 1987 and brother Walter Conway, Jr., in 2003. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Mt. Kisco. Calling hours Monday 4-8 PM. Mass Tuesday 10 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church. In memory of Virginia T. Fredericks, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or Animal Welfare League. Aldridge, Anne, of Heritage Hills, Somers, New York, and formerly of Pound Ridge, for 31 years died on June 8, 2009 unexpectedly and peacefully at her home in Somers. Anne was born February 24, 1928 in St. Albans, New York the first child of Edward Rose and Mary Boyle. She attended local parochial schools and went on to graduate from Misericordia College, Dallas, PA with a B.A. Degree in History.
In 1950 she married Donald G. Aldridge and in 1964 they and their five children moved to Pound Ridge from Seaford, Long Island. Anne was very active in Pound Ridge as a long time member of the Garden Club where she enjoyed displaying her floral arrangements and with the Newcomers Club, Cancer Care and the Women’s Republican Club.
An avid golfer she was very proud of winning twice, back to back the Women’s Nine Hole Club Championship at Tamarack Country Club in Greenwich, CT. Anne continued to play until recently at West Course at Heritage Hills.
For 18 years from 1989-2007 she worked two days a week at the front desk of the Town House of Pound Ridge. She enjoyed greeting visitors and assisting residents with town business.
Always a Bridge player in later years she greatly enjoyed many bridge matches with her new and old friends in Heritage Hills. She is remembered for her devotion to her family, as a friend to all and her pleasant and nonjudgmental manner.
She is survived by her family, Donald Aldridge of Hamburg, NJ, her children, Edward Aldridge (Helen) of Walnut Creek, CA, Jean A. McLaughlin (Kevin) of Pound Ridge, NY, Robert Aldridge (Cindy) of Landenbeg, PA, Stephen Aldridge (Andrea) of Ladero Ranch, CA and Lynn A. D’Antonio (Rich) of Plano, TX.
She is also survived by her grandchildren; Brian, Megan and Mike; Leigh and Jack; Sean, Kyle and Kendall and Amanda.
The family will receive friends at Clark Associates Funeral Home, Katonah, New York on Friday, June 12, 2009 2 -5 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at St. Patrick’s Church, Bedford, New York at 1:30 pm
Interment will follow at Pound Ridge Town Cemetery.

Austin, Richard Delmar, of Mahopac, formerly of Somers, passed away June 26, 2009, after years of health problems at the age of 71. His parents were the late Ruth Palmer Austin (Brown) and the late Delmar Austin. His grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Brown, one of the first families of Somers. Richard leaves his wife, M. June Austin (Kehoe), their daughter Barbara Austin, married to Bill Koch and son Edward Jay, married to Barbarann Grande Austin. Also surviving are Richard and June’s grandchildren, Kelly and Matthew Austin.
Richard worked at Kensico Tube/Robin-Tech in Mt. Kisco and later at the Northern Westchester Hospital as an electrician. Richard’s heart was always with Somers and he was always willing to share stories of it’s past. A Memorial Service will be held for his friends, family and church family on Wednesday, July 29 at 7:30pm at the Affirmation Presbyterian Church, at the junction of Rt 139 and Rt 100, Somers, NY

Barton, John U., beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who died August 6 in Bedford Hills. Predeceased by his wife, Virginia, and son, John, survived by his six children: Virginia, of Delavan, WI; Richard, of Newton, MA; Elizabeth, of Galveston, TX; Thomas, of Marlboro, VT; Ellen, of Bedford Hills, NY; and James, of Rochester, NY; as well as by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. “Jack” was born in New York City on December 6, 1921, spent his school years in Cleveland Heights, OH, and graduated from Yale College with a B.A. degree in European history. His college years were interrupted by war. He was an officer in the United States Navy in World War II, serving on a sub-chaser in the Mediterranean and a patrol craft in the Pacific. He saw action during the amphibious landings at Anzio, Southern France, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa; he weathered two violent typhoons at sea. While starting his family, he began his career in journalism, reporting and editing for newspapers in suburban Boston, later reporting for Penton Publishing Co.’s petroleum magazines in Cleveland. He moved to New York to McGraw-Hill Publishing Co., following its 1956 acquisition of Penton’s oil publications. In 1960 he joined IBM, starting 30 years of work in public relations, extolling the benefits to society of advanced computing technology, including 20 years at IBM’s Corporate Communications Department in Armonk, NY. He traveled widely with his wife before and after retirement, visiting many countries around the world, and was an avid player and student of golf. He loved his family and cared deeply for his country.
A Memorial Service (read more) will be held at Clark Associates Funeral Home, Katonah, NY on Sat, Aug. 15 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312, www.diabetes.org.

Bashkow, Dr. Theodore R., age 88, of Katonah, NY, died Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at home.. Mr. Bashkow was born November 16, 1921 in St. Louis, MO. He is the son of the late Maurice and Caroline (Davidson) Bashkow.
Theodore is survived by his loving wife: Delphina (Brownlee) Bashkow. He also survived by a stepdaughter, Lynn Eriksen; son-in-law Jonathan Bustle; and a grandson, Timothy Bustle.
Theodore was a Professor at Columbia University in New York. He was a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and he retired in 1991 He attended Washington University in St. Louis MO and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He went on to receive his Masters and Doctorate Degrees at Stanford University in California.
He served in the U. S. Air Force as a 1st Lieutenant during World War II from 1943 to 1945.While in the Air Force he served as Maintenance Officer and helped to stage the Enola Gay.
Theodore was an active member of IEEE, ACM and Sigma Xi Organizations.
A private family cremation was scheduled.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY.

Biddiscombe, Raymond D. age 91, of Somers died Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Bethel Nursing Home, Ossining.
Mr. Biddiscombe was born April 28, 1917 at New York, NY the son of the late Raymond W. and the late Lillian (Geddis) Biddiscombe.
He is a US Navy veteran and served in WW II and The Korean Conflict.
He was a Firefighter with FDNY with Engine 68 in The Bronx for many years.
Ray was known for his love and devotion to his family, his wisdom, knowledge and strength of human spirit.
Raymond is the beloved husband of Geraldine (DeRohan) Biddiscombe for 65 years.
Ray is the loving father of six children, also survived by two brothers and two sisters, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Katonah. Burial will follow at St. Raymonds Cemetery, Bronx.

Paul David Biskup, 68, of Brewster, NY formerly of Bedford, NY died Monday, August 24, 2009 at Putnam Hospital Center, Carmel, NY.
Paul was born in Waynesburg, PA and was the son of Paul and Mary Jane (Ulintz) Biskup.
Paul married Carolyn Arklie in 1967 in Baltimore, MD.
Following five years at the Daily News, Paul became the proprietor of Custom Printing and On Time Printing in Elmsford, NY.
Paul is the beloved husband of Carolyn, loving father of David and Kimberly and brother of Rosemary Biskup of Crucible, PA.
Calling hours will be Thursday, August 27 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 28 at the Bedford Presbyterian Church, on the Village Green, Bedford. Burial will be private.
