Adelaide Mourikis, 70, a former resident of Hartsdale, died September 4, 2008. She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas in 1993. She is survived by her children, Christopher Mourikis, Michele Benjamin and Linda Mourikis, three grandchildren Amelia and Ryan Benjamin and Andrew Amico and her brother Joseph Viotti. Mass of the Resurrection 10 AM Wednesday, Sacred Heart Church, Hartsdale. Visiting 6-9 PM Tuesday, Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Ave., Dobbs Ferry, NY. PETRILLO, JOHN J.

John J. Petrillo of South Salem, NY, and Naples, FL, died Friday September 5, 2008. John was born in Tuckahoe, NY. He served as a sergeant and MP in the US Army during WWII. An avid golfer, John was a life member of the South Salem Fire Department and retired from UPS. He served as an usher in his parish in Naples. He is survived by his wife Constance, his son Jay and his wife Patti, his sister, Rose Giordano, his grandchildren, Jake, Britney, Jonna and Garrett and his great grandchildren Veronica and Emma. He was predeceased by his daughter, Linda. Visiting Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Shrub Oak, NY. Interment will follow at South Salem Cemetery. JOSEPH J. SMITH, MARY B.

Mary Beverly Smith died in White Plains, New York on September 3, 2008 at the age of 58. Mary was born Mary Beverly Jones on April 6, 1950 to Inez and Elijah Jones in St. Mary's Parish Jamaica, West Indies. During her adolescent years she developed an inner strength that would follow her for the rest of her days. As the only sister among four brothers she was determined to show that nothing can compare to a woman's courage, will and tenacity. In 1978 that determination caused her to migrate to the United States of America, where she settled in Mount Vernon, New York. She eventually pursued a career in real estate and within a few years became a top sales agent for Century 21. In 1994, her entrepreneurial spirit and superior salesmanship led her to start an independent real estate firm named Smith's Realty, Inc. In 2006, she realized a lifelong dream and was awarded a Century 21 franchise bearing her name. Mary was happiest when she had good food and conversation with family and friends. She would often tell those closest to her to live, love and laugh. Mary's trademarks were her big personality and even bigger heart. However, her greatest accomplishments and proudest moments in life came from her three children. Mary is survived by her companion and friend Hugh Beason in White Plains, New York, her firstborn son Phillip Dacosta and his wife Opal in White Plains, New York, her only daughter Bridgette Bell and her husband Damon in Gaithersburg, Maryland, her youngest son Gerald Smith and his wife Sandra in White Plains, New York, her stepdaughter Karen Smith in Mount Vernon, New York, her grandsons Jayson-Parrish Smith in Bronx, New York, Benjamin Bell in Gaithersburg, Maryland, Jaiden Smith in White Plains, New York, Chad Christian in Mount Vernon, New York, her granddaughters Ashley and Taylor Dacosta in White Plains, New York, and Kaley and Ava Bell in Gaithersburg, Maryland, brothers Basil Benbow of Jamaica, Eric Armstrong in Jamaica, Harold Jones in Mount Vernon, New York, Frederick Jones in Jamaica, Thomas Jones in Jamaica, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mary bravely lived through the passing of her father, mother and brother Roydell "Sama" Armstrong. Mary's life and accomplishments are truly an inspiration, and success. STEWART, MABEL D.

Mabel D. Stewart, 80, of New Rochelle, NY, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 5, 2008, after a long illness. Formerly of Asheville, NC, Mabel relocated to New Rochelle in 2005 to reside with her son Larry. She was born to Jesse Carl and Macie Duyck, who predeceased her. Her husband Homer, two brothers, Jim and J.C.and her sister, Freida, also predeceased. She is survived by her son Larry. In addition she is survived by her sister-in-law, Sally Duyck, her Brother-in-law Bill Wright and caring nieces and nephews: DeAnne Ewan, Lisa Frisbee, Sheila, Jim, Jr. and Greg Duyck and Steven and David Wright. She will be sorely missed by her dear friends especially Margaret Carmardella and Ted Stewart of New Rochelle, Bunnie, Priscilla and Charles Silver of Asheville, NC, Agnes Mason and Thomas Davies of New York, NY. Mabel began her career in banking with First National Bank in Asheville. She was the first female bank officer named in the Western North Carolina region of First Union more than 40 years ago. A woman with a wry sense of humor, Mabel, a die hard democrat, loved following politics and current political events. She was a world traveler having visited more than 42 countries. Other interests included reading, baking, needlework and preparing her annual Christmas "Sugared Pecans, " loved by those who were lucky enough to receive them. Know for her grit, determination and southern charm, Mabel was enjoyed and loved by all who knew her. She will be sorely missed. During her illness, Mabel received warm loving care from the professional staff Jansen Hospice who cared for her with tenderness, dedication and kindness. Visiting will be today from 4:00 to 9:00 PM. with services and interment to take place on Wednesday in Asheville, N.C. WELCH, DAVID BAILLIE

David Baillie Welch, a child prodigy, an ethnomusicologist, a composer, a performer and a musical genius. David B. Welch died September 4, 2008 in New Rochelle, New York. He was born on October 26, 1945 in Portland Oregon. David was an Associate Professor of Music at Ramapo College in Mahwah, New Jersey until his retirement. He also composed musicals that were presented in the New York City area. His contributions to the world of education and music will be missed a lot. GEORGE T. BRUZZANO, JOSEPHINE KATHERINE

Josephine Katherine Bruzzano of New Rochelle, passed away on September 4, 2008. She was born on June 26, 1926 in Montclair, NJ, the daughter of John Messina and Mary Scamanaci. She married Ralph Bruzzano on November 11, 1951. Mrs. Bruzzano was an active member of the Woman's Club of New Rochelle and will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, friend and avid NY Yankee fan. She is survived by her husband Ralph, three children: Ralph Bruzzano Jr. and fiancée Maria Pantori of New Rochelle, Patricia Bruzzano of New Rochelle, NY and Arnold Bruzzano and wife Kathy of Harrison, NY, two brothers: Joseph Messina of Pt. Orange, FL, Michael Messina of Glen Ridge, NJ and predeceased by one sister Helen Payerl of Lake Hiawatha, NJ. She is also survived by one grandson Matthew Bruzzano of Harrison, NY. The immediate family will gather on Sunday from 10 AM to 12 noon at Graham Funeral Home. They will receive family and friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. at Graham Funeral Home. BUCCI, MARY B.

Mary B. Bucci, 94, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Friday morning. She was born in New York City the daughter of the late Frank and Lucia (Rizzo) Capolupo and widow of the late Andrew Bucci, . She is survived by two sons; Andrew Bucci and Marshall (Karen) Bucci, five beloved grandchildren: Andrew III (Josephine), Geraldine (Kevin) Keating, Marshall Jr., Matthew (Susan), Christina (Rob) Caprilozzi, and five great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Mary is predeceased by her daughter-in-law Gail. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Jude's Catholic Church, Monroe, CT at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 8, 2008 with interment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull, CT. Friends and family may gather for calling hours on Sunday, September 7 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Spadaccino and Leo P.
