Samuel A. Van Dorn, Jr.

Samuel A. Van Dorn, Jr., age 58, of Beacon, NY, formerly of Bedford Village, NY, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Vassar Brothers Hospital, Poughkeepsie.

Walker, Christopher T.

Walker, Christopher T., age 25, of Somers, NY, died tragically on January 17, 2009 as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident in Yorktown.
Chris graduated from Somers High School in 2002. He was a three letter varsity athlete. Chris then enlisted in the Army and served two tours of duty in Iraq. He received the Army Commendation Medal/National Defense Service Medal/Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal/Global War on Terrorism Service Medal/Overseas Service Ribbon. He was a member of the Somers VFW. Chris was currently working at New York Sports Club as a personal trainer.
He will be remembered for his endearing smile, outgoing personality and zest for life. His sincerity, generosity, loyalty and love for family and friends was always evident.
Chris is survived by his parents Paul and Janet Walker of Somers, NY, his brother and sister-in-law, David and Liz Walker, of Carmel, NY, his grandparents and his mother, Janet Morecraft of Indiana, plus numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins. He is also survived by a half-brother, Tim, in Florida.
Friends may pay their respects at Clark Associates Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A funeral will be held at the Mt. Kisco Presbyterian Church, Route 133, Mt. Kisco, NY.
Interment to follow at Ivandell Cemetery, Somers, NY.

GARGANI, LAURA

Laura Gargani of Mt Vernon, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2008. Laura was born in the Bronx on March 7, 1916 to Frank and Elisa Nettis. She married Alphonso R. Gargani on April 25, 1948 at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church in the Bronx. Laura was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Mt Vernon and volunteered for Lighthouse of the Blind in White Plains. She was an excellent baker, seamstress and an altar server for the 7 a.m. mass at Sacred Heart Church. Laura is survived by her son Dr. John Gargani (Barbara), daughter Jane Hanley (Charles), grandchildren David (Stephanie), Chris (Trish), Scott (Sam) Gargani, Rachel (Matt) Sienko and Joan Hanley and great grandchildren Mikayla and Ashley. Laura is predeceased by her husband Alphonso, sisters Margaret Spano, Jean Gesualdi, Mary Como, Ann Trocle, and brother John Nettis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian died on September 3, 2008 surrounded by her six loving children. She was born on February 23, 1922 in the Bronx to the late Joseph and Margaret Cavanagh Vetter. She was predeceased by her brother Johnny in 1922. On December 7, 1946 she married the late James J. Gaughan at St Francis de Chantal in Throggs Neck. She was devoted to her faith and family, with special devotion to Mother Cabrini and Our Lady of the Olives. Loving mother of Margie Gaughan, Ellen (Bill) Porcaro, Jim (Ann) Gaughan, Agnes (Billy) McNamara, Joe (Joanne) Gaughan, and Mary (Billy) Werner. Cherished grandmother of Lauren, Megan, Maggie, Jimmy, Billy, Joey, Kerry, Mikey, Katie, Mark, Johnny, Aggie, Billy, Chris, Heather, Kristine, Danny, Robert and James. Great-grandmother of Liam, Maeve, Cole, Aidan, Annie, Ella and Lila. Agnes had a great love for life which kept her young at heart for all of her 86 years. Reposing at Schuyler Hill Funeral Home, 3535 E. Tremont Ave., Bronx, NY on Saturday and Sunday 2-5 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, St. Frances de Chantal 11 AM. Interment to follow St. Raymond Cemetery, Bronx, NY.

IANNIELLO, JAMES MICHAEL

James Michael Ianniello, a resident of Coconut Creek, FL, and formerly of New Rochelle, died on September 5, 2008. He was 66. Mr. Ianniello was born on December 31, 1941 in Tuckahoe to the late Joseph and Josephine (DiPaolo) Ianniello. He served in the US Marines during the Vietnam War and was awarded three Purple Hearts. He married Jo Ann Choflet on September 11. They shared many wonderful years together with their children and grandchildren. His happiest times were spent with his family. He will be missed by many. In addition to his wife Jo Ann of Coconut Creek, FL, he is survived by four daughters, Kim Bickel and her husband Michael, Stephanie Hill and her husband John, Jamie Cantalupi and her husband Louis, and Kori Lalli and her husband Terry; eight grandchildren, Alyssa, Samantha, Jake, Alex, Robert, Joseph, Louis, James; his mother in law, Ann Choflet; three brothers, Joseph, Anthony, and Richie; a sister, Betty Ann McLeod; and many loving brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visiting Sunday 4-7 PM at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle. Mass Monday 10AM at St. Joseph's Church. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to United Hospice of Rockland and St. Judes' Childrens Hospital.

LEWIS, MARION MUNRO

Marion Munro Lewis, 95, passed away on September 1, 2008, in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Born in Yonkers, NY, to the late Marion and David Munro, she attended PS#16 and graduated from Commerce High School in 1931. Marion worked as a bookkeeper until 1949, when she married Paton Lewis and moved to Scarsdale. In addition to being a homemaker, she assisted Paton with his business, Boucher-Lewis Precision Models, and attended Bethany Chapel until they retired to Florida in 1979. Paton predeceased her in 1981. She was also preceded in death by brother David Munro, sister Peg Dunkerton, and stepdaughter Celia Bain. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Bernard Keough of Palm Beach Gardens; stepsons Paton Lewis, Jr. (Judith) and William Lewis (Nancy), of Minneapolis; four grandchildren and four nephews. Visitation at Dwyer Funeral Home on Monday, Sept 8 at 11 AM. Graveside Service at 12:30 PM, Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla. Dwyer Funeral Home, 90 North Broadway, Tarrytown, NY. (914-631-0621).

LOMBARDI, JOHN A. (JACK)

John A. (Jack) Lombardi, 83, of North White Plains, N.Y., died on September 4, 2008 at White Plains Hospital Center. He was born on November 26, 1924 to the late Giacomo and Teresa (nee DiPasquale) Lombardi in Newburgh, N.Y. John proudly served in the US Army during WW11 and received the WW11 Victory Medal, The American Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. On Feb.8, 1948 he married Jane Willey in Valhalla, N.Y. Jack worked in the family business, Lombardi Service Station in North White Plains, and later became Regional Sales Mgr. of Champion Spark Plug in Toledo, Ohio retiring in 1981. He was elected Town of North Castle Councilman in 1959 and later elected Town Supervisor in 1961, a position he held for 44 Years. He currently holds a position as consultant for the County of Westchester. He is survived by his wife Jane (Willey) Lombardi, his children Gail and Jamie Norris, Lynn and Frank Ortiz, Diane and Robert Kopenhaver, and John Jr. and Jacquelyn Lombardi. Brother of Joseph and his wife Pauline Lombardi, and brother-in-law of Willie Belle Lombardi, Muriel Kammerer and Alma Willey. Also survived by his grandchildren Ted Williams, Kevin (Andrea) Foley, Alexis and Jamie Norris, John A. III, Justin and Jared Lombardi and David Ortiz. And great grandchildren Noah and Cain Williams, Megan and Thomas Foley and Daniella Ortiz. Also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Predeceased by two brothers Sabatino and Lezio Lombardi and one sister Urania Lombardi. Reposing Hawthorne Funeral Home on Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 6-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, N.Y. on Monday 10 AM. Entombment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. MCKEON, ESTELLE

Estelle (Syrek) McKeon, age 90, formerly of Mamaroneck, NY, and New York City, died September 03, 2008 in Florida. She was the beloved wife of the late Andrew McKeon with whom she shared 42 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Jean Buettner and husband John FL, Rosemarie Deegan and her husband John of MA, Michael McKeon and his wife Annalisa of NY. Estelle was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Visitation will be held at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767 E. Boston Post Rd, Mamaroneck 914-698-5968 Monday 9:00am. Funeral mass will be follow 10:00 at Most Holy Trinity Church, 320 E. Boston Post Road, Mamaoneck . Burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your local Alzheimer's Foundation.
