BUTLER, MICHAEL J.

Michael Joseph Butler died peacefully on September 3, 2008 at home in Fort Pierce, Florida. He was born in New York City in 1923 and lived in Stony Point, NY before moving to South Hutchinson Island, Ft. Pierce, Florida. Michael served in the Merchant Marine in 1943 and as an Army tech Sergeant in the Philippines during WWII. He was an ironworker in the New York City area, working on many historic buildings including the World Trade Center. He was a lifetime member of Ironworkers Local #580. He was an honored member and former commander of the Elks Lodge #877 of Haverstraw and was a member of the American Legion Post #130 in Haverstraw. He became a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church after moving to Florida in 2003. A Memorial Mass celebrating his life has been scheduled. He is survived by his wife Kathy Jean Butler, a stepdaughter Deanne M. Wright of Fort Pierce Florida, a sister Marguerette Neihaus of Evansville, IN, two brothers Paul Butler of Albuquerque, NM, and Daniel Butler of Blauvelt, NY. Two beloved grandsons, Raymond Dale Wright III and Michael Gregory Wright. He was the beloved uncle of many nieces, nephews and godchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years Mary Lavelle Butler, and his sisters Ann Stisser and Rosemary McGettigan. Friends may call on Sunday September 7, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at T.J McGowan Sons Funeral Home, GARNERVILLE. Leo Laders American Legion Post #130 will hold a service at 7:30 PM and the Haverstraw Elks will hold services at 8 PM on Sunday evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday September 8, 2008 at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Stony Point, NY. Interment with military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Marian Shrine, 174 Filors Lane, Stony Point, NY 10980. T.J. GANIS NEGRIN, DIANA

Diana Ganis Negrin, 89, died peacefully on August 28, 2008, at White Plains Hospital in White Plains, NY. She is predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Samuel Negrin, formerly of West Hempstead, NY, and DelRay Beach, FL. Also surviving are her daughter, Serena Michelson, and her husband, Allen, of New City, NY, her son, Joel, and his wife, Linda, of Mamaroneck, NY, 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was totally devoted to her family and extended family and maintained close contact with all of those dear to her. She was kind, loving, intelligent, cultured, educated, modest, loyal, energetic and clever. She had a smile for everyone and was beautiful on the inside as well as the outside. LINE, ARTHUR D. SR.

Arthur D. Line, Sr., a lifetime Peekskill resident, died on Thursday, September 4, 2008. He was 84 years old. Art was born in Peekskill, the son of Clarence Line and Theresa Griswold. He graduated from Peekskill High School, class of 1942 and was a member of the National Honor Society. Mr. Line served in the U. S. Army Air Force from 1942-1945. He received a battle star for service in the Rome-Arno campaigns with the Fifth Army. On October 10, 1948 he married Jean Wilcox at the Assumption Church, Peekskill. She survives. Art was a self-employed longtime carpenter contractor in the Westchester-Putnam area. A lifetime member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Peekskill, he was chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee and a member of the Vestry. Art also served as treasurer of the old St. Peter's Church and Cemetery. He was a former Peekskill city champion in tennis and a 40-year member of the Boy Scouts of America and a Scoutmaster of Troop No. 1, Peekskill for 22 years. Mr. Line was a life-member of the American Legion Post 274, Peekskill, serving twice as commander and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a 25-year associate member of the Cortlandt Hook and Ladder. Art is survived by his wife Jean, a daughter Nancy Line, two sons Arthur D. (Elizabeth) Line, Jr. and David H. (Linda) Line, nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. A sister Mary Isabel Stinson, step mother Agnes Line and step sister Virginia VanVlack also survive. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 8 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Peekskill. Cremation at Ferncliff Crematory is private. Visiting at the Dorsey-Carlone Funeral Home, Peekskill on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Boy Scouts of America, 41 Saw Mill River Road, Hawthorne, NY 10532 are appreciated.

MYERS, VIRGINIA (NEE DATTARO)

Virginia Myers (nee Dattaro), a longtime resident of Goldens Bridge, NY, and a recent five year resident of Patterson, NY, passed into Heaven, Tuesday, September 2, 2008. Beloved wife and mother, Virginia was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Charles, on January 2, 2008. Virginia retired from Caldor's after twenty years of employment. She loved the arts of jewelry, gardening, and antiques. Virginia is survived by her five children, V. Gail Myers-Pettinger, Laurie (Ward) Lyke, William (Mary) Myers, Barbara Bartfield and Jessica (Frank) DeAlto, and her five grandchildren, Ryan, Logan, Kyle, Jack and Robert, and her brother Guido Dattaro of Eastchester, NY. Calling hours on Saturday September 6 from 9-11AM. A funeral mass will follow at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Mt. Carmel, Carmel, NY. Interment at Maple Ave. Cemetery, Patterson, NY. ADAMIAK, JOANNA

Joanna Adamiak, formerly of Wappinger Falls, passed away on September 3, 2008. Born in Poland on October 1, 1921. Joanna is predeceased by her husband Aleksander and a son Ryszard. Survived by her two sons; Joe (Annette) Adamiak of White Plains and Jan (Barbara) Adamiak of Wappinger Falls. Six grandchildren; Andrew (Lisa) Adamiak, Kristina (Michael) Hays, Lisa (Ray) Charles, Richard Adamiak, Joey Adamiak, Alex Adamiak and six great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass Saturday 10AM Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church. Interment to follow at St John's Cemetery Goshen, NY. COX, LORRAINE BAKER

Lorraine Baker Cox, 75, died peacefully at home, August 28. Born in Mt. Vernon and a graduate of Mt. Vernon H.S. in 1951 she married James Frank Cox May 7, 1955. She lived in New Rochelle until moving to Glenville in 1976. Lorraine was a licensed real estate agent, retiring in 1993. She was a member of St. John's Church, honorary life member of Thomas Corner's Fire Dept. auxilliary and devoted homemaker. James Frank Cox passed away in 1992. Predeceased by brother John Jack Baker and sister Marion Smith Egan. Survived by sons Michael and John Cox and their spouses Sue and Melissa; her daughters, Kathleen and Maureen and their spouses Frank and Tom; eight grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday September 2, 2008 from St. John the Evangelist Church in Schenectady, officiated by Rev. Gary Gelfenbein of Chatham. Burial in St. Anthony's Cemetery.

DEROSA, ANNA

Anna DeRosa, 83, of North White Plains, N.Y., and formerly of Valhalla, N.Y. died on September 3, 2008 at White Plains Hospital Center. She was born on Oct.31, 1925 to the late Michael and Gilda (nee Simeone) Coppola in Port Reading, NJ. Anna was a cafeteria worker at Valhalla High School for 35 years retiring in 1974. She is survived by her devoted husband Caesar DeRosa of North White Plains, N.Y. her loving daughter Marie Ward and her husband Ron of Brewster, N.Y. one brother Dominick Coppola and her cherished granddaughter Jennie Ann Perritano, and her sweet little Nugget. Predeceased by two brothers and one sister. Reposing Hawthorne Funeral Home on Sunday 4-8 PM. where Funeral Services will be held on Monday 10 AM. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Greenburgh, N.Y.
