SCARAMUZZINO, CARMELA

Carmela Scaramuzzino, age 96, died on August 29, 2008. Beloved wife of the late Carmelo. Devoted mother of Jenny D'Onofrio and her husband Benito and Dominick Scaramuzzino and his wife Mary. Dear sister of Carmine Ventre. Cherished grandmother of five and great grandmother of two. Friends who wish may visit on Monday, September 1st, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC., Eastchester. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Assumption Church, Tuckahoe on Tuesday, September 2, 10:30 a.m. followed by entombment at Ferncliff Mausoleum.

TEETS, ANNA MAY (KEESLER)

Anna May (Keesler) Teets passed away August 23, 2008 in Waterford, Michigan. Funeral and church services were held in Michigan. Formerly of Peekskill and Fishkill, NY, Anna May is survived by husband William, daughters Kathy Teets and Dawn Novak, son William, sisters Dorothy Tonich and Mary Lou Spinola and many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday morning, September 27th at 11 AM in St. Mary's Church in Fishkill, NY.

CRAIG, CLAIRE KEENAN

Claire Muriel Keenan Craig, of Hobe Sound, Florida, formerly of Bronxville, New York, and Sparta, New Jersey, entered into eternal rest on August 26, 2008. Born in Brooklyn, New York on September 7, 1913 to Eleanor Sliney and Robert Keenan, she was predeceased by her brother William Keenan and sister Eleanor Keenan Logan. Until his death in 2002, she shared 67 years with her husband Edward William Craig. Mrs. Craig is survived by two daughters, Susan Craig Schulmerich and her husband Fred Schulmerich of Goshen, New York and Nancy Ellen Craig of Hobe Sound, Florida. As well, there are numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and great-grand nieces and nephews who survive her. The Keenan family relocated from Brooklyn to Rockland County where Mrs. Craig attended the Doodletown School before moving to Mount Vernon, New York where she attended A.B. Davis High School. She became a licensed real estate broker with Miller Management in Bronxville, New York. She was the first woman to achieve membership in the million dollar sales category. Mrs. Craig was a member of the Shatemue and Rufus Fairbanks Chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution; the Business and Professional Women's Association and other patriotic and professional organizations. She was an accomplished speed skater and endurance swimmer. At the age of 13 she swam the widest part of the Hudson River and is believed to be the youngest female to accomplish this. She was well loved and will be sadly missed by those who knew her. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church on September 6, 2008 at 10 AM with interment at St. Peter's Cemetery in Haverstraw following the mass. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions in her name be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1000 SE Ruhnke Street, Stuart, FL 34993. T.J. SAKALIAN, ROSA

Rosa Sakalian, a longtime Cortlandt Manor resident, died on Friday, August 29, 2008. She was 72 years old. Rosa was born on May 18, 1936 in Peznok, Czechoslovakia, the daughter of Ludwig Eckhardt and Maria Sadlon. She was married to John Sakalian at St. John's Episcopal Church, Yonkers on May 2, 1959. Mrs. Sakalian is survived by her husband, John, two sons Mark (Barbara) and Michael and daughter Lisa (Larry) Bevilacqua. Also surviving are two granddaughters Margaret Nicole and Megan and two grandsons Ryan and John. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Cortlandt Manor on Tuesday, September 2nd at 10:00 a.m. followed by passed away on August 19, 2008. Pasquale is survived by his devoted wife Josephina and loving son Dr. Leonardo Campanile. Also surviving are his brothers Antonio (Angelina), Giuseppe (Angelina), Domenico (Angela), all of Bari, Italy) and Angelo (Jacqueline) of Crestwood, NY. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces in Italy as well as Guy (Susan) of Crestwood, NY and Anthony (Karen) of Tuckahoe, NY and Christina (Matthew) Gilmartin of Hoboken, NJ. A memorial mass will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 7:30pm at the Immaculate Conception Church, 53 Winter Hill Road, Tuckahoe.

DIFRANCESCO, MILDRED

Mildred DiFrancesco, of Sparkill, NY, passed away at her home on August 30, 2008. She was 88 years old. Mildred was born on February 28, 1920 in North Tarrytown, NY, one of eight children, to Joseph and Concetta Camera. She married Emilio DiFrancesco on June 24, 1945 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Tarrytown, NY. During WWII Mildred was an aircraft worker at Eastern Aircraft in Sleepy Hollow, NY. She was a member of the John Paulding Fire Company Ladies Aux. for over 50 years. Mildred was also a member of the Piermont Senior Citizens Club and St. John the Baptist RC Church in Piermont. She was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years Emilio in 1996. Mildred is survived by her two daughters Catherine Smutek and her husband Stephen of Tappan, NY and Elaine Baroni and her husband Joseph of St. Petersburg, FL, two grandchildren; Stephen of Tappan and David and his wife Diane of Staten Island and two great-grandchildren Daniel and Deanna of Staten Island, NY. Mildred is also survived by a brother Anthony Camera of FL, a sister Jeanette Capalbo of Tarrytown, NY and her special friend and caregiver Nadia Creary. Visiting is scheduled for Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM at St. John the Baptist RC Church in Piermont with died August 30, 2008 at the age of 84. Josephine was born in N. Tarrytown on March 10, 1924. She was the daughter of Lazzaro and Maria Maffucci Capossela. She graduated from N. Tarrytown High School and later worked at Eastern Aircraft. In 1947, she married Joseph A. Laurino. Josephine is survived by Joseph, her loving husband of 61 years as well as her loving children Joseph A. (Bonnie) Laurino, Jr. of Hyde Park, NY and Joyce (Michael) Poli of Davidsonville, MD. She is also survived by three grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and her sister Rose Cregan of Sleepy Hollow. Visitation will be at COFFEY FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be at St. Teresa of Avila Church on Thursday at 10:00. Interment will follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
