KURILECZ, MARGARET

MARGARET KURILECZ, a resident of Yonkers, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2010, at Michael Malotz Nursing Pavilion at age 96 . Margaret was born in Yonkers on December 10, 1913, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Puchir) Kurilecz. She graduated from Yonkers High School and then from Albany State Teacher's College (now SUNY). She also received a Master's degree from Columbia University (NYC). Margaret taught for many years in the Dobbs Ferry schools until she became a Fulbright Scholar teaching in Middle East countries Istanbul (Turkey), Lebanon, Island of Rhodes (Greece), and then to Athens where she was head of the English Department at Athens College. She became fluent in each country's language. She also traveled the European countries and attended Stuttgard University (Germany). Her three published books , dealing with English as a second language, are in the U.S. Library of Congress. Margaret is survived by her brother, Joseph, of Ossining, NY and nephew, Joseph N. (Debra) of Weymouth, MA. She was predeceased by her sister Anna. Reposing at Duchynski-Cherko Funeral Home, TODAY, Friday, from 5P.M. to 8P.M. with Parastas at 7P.M. Rites of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy at St. Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church-Ash Street, on Saturday, May 15th, at 10a.m. Interment follows at St. Joseph's Cemetery

LAMOTTA, RICHARD E.

Born in Brooklyn, New York on May 20th 1942, Richard Edmund LaMotta is best known as "Mr. Chipwich", the inventor of the original Chipwich, the ice cream cookie sandwich. He worked hard his whole life, attending the prestigious Brooklyn Tech High School, and Brooklyn College and NY Law School at night over many years while working jobs at AT&T; and CBS. Chipwich Chippoppity, a cookie candy, came out of the Chipwich brand and at its second release functioned in conjunction with MyStudentBiz, a business which allowed students to earn money, scholarships, and own a part of the company. His goal was to pass on the entrepreneurship skills he had learned, by mentoring students and helping anyone who asked for his advice. He created companies that would help people, like his current company, The MD System, an allnatural pain relief system, which will continue on. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Richard Edmund LaMotta Foundation at P.O. Box 309 Mount Kisco, NY 10549 Survived by his wife, son, two daughters, and a granddaughter. Predeceased by son and brother. The wake will be at Beecher Funeral Home in Pleasantville, NY on Saturday from 2-4pm and 79pm and Sunday from 2-4pm.

LEVESQUE, ANN M.

Ann M. Levesque born in New York City on June 14, 1921, Ann was the daughter of Charles McNerney and Catherine Feeley McNerney. She graduated cum laude from the College of Mt. St. Vincent in Riverdale, New York in 1943. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Raymond H. Levesque, formerly of Coventry, Rhode Island; her devoted children Marie Levesque of Chicago, Illinois; Charles Levesque of Chicago, Illinois; Wilfred Levesque of Chatsworth, California; Mathilde Levesque of West Bloomfield, Michigan; daughter-in-law Bettina Levesque of Chatsworth, California; and three grandchildren, Celine, Raymond and Jared Levesque, all of Chatsworth, California. Her two brothers, James and John McNerney, predeceased her. Visitation Friday 2-4 and 7-9pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767 E. Boston Post Rd Mamaroneck, 914-698-5968. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday 9:30am at Resurrection Church in Rye, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the annual giving fund of Mt. St. Vincent College.

LUPO, MICHAEL

Michael Lupo a resident of Port Chester entered into eternal rest on May 13, 2010. Mike was born on October 25, 1916 in Atella, Italy. Mike is survived by his wife Marianna of 53 years and his devoted children Mary Florindi and her husband Jim and his son Larry and his wife Christine (Sandarciero), his loving grandchildren, Teresa, Jamie, Stephanie, Michael and Christopher. Mike was a barber for over 80 years and owned Mike's Barber Shop in Stamford, CT. and then moving to Willett Ave. in Port Chester in 1982 until his retirement in 2000. He was an active member of the Holy Rosary Church. Visitation will be 48PM today Friday May 14, 2010 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. 40 Leicester St. Port Chester, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30AM on Saturday May 15, 2010 at Holy Rosary Church Don Bosco Pl. Port Chester, NY. Entombment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY. MALLEY, FRANCIS "FRANK"

Francis "Frank" Malley, 78, of Augustine Ave, passed away at Ellis Hospital on May 12, 2010 after a brief Illness. Born in Rockland County in 1931 he had been a resident of the Capital District Area for the past 35 years. Frank until his retirement in 1996 was employed as a Diesel Mechanic with the Myron Lumber Company of Colonie NY. After which he worked at Walmart for 12 years. He served during the Korean War in the United States Army. For many years he served as a volunteer Fireman of the SW Johnson Fire Co and was a past former president of the American Motorcycle Association Ramapo Chapter Club where he received multiple awards throughout the years. His beloved wife of 46 years Rosemary Malley predeceased him on October 8 1998. Frank is survived by his son Steven Malley of Queensbury, his daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Anthony Young of Guilderland and two granddaughters Nicole Young of Guilderland and Jessica Malley of Virginia and his special friend Sally Winne of Delanson and several nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his son Thomas in 2008. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home Inc 1605 Helderberg Ave Rotterdam on Friday May 14, 2010 from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral services will begin on Saturday May 15, 2010 at 9:15 am at the funeral home. Immediately following a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am At St Madeleine Sophie Church 3500 Carmen Road Schenectady. Interment will follow at St Cyril Cemetery Rotterdam. MARCHIONNI, LUCY M.

Lucy Marie Marchionni beloved wife of the late Andrew A. Marchionni, Sr. died on Monday, May 10, 2010 at St. John's Riverside Hospital at the age of 72. She was born on June 14, 1937 in Yonkers to Charles and Felicia Cola who predeceased her. She is survived by her four children Andrea and Donato Passero, Lucia and Paul Grandetti, Andrew and Cathy Marchionni., Felicia and George Georgioudakis, 11 grandchildren Nina, Paul, Matteo, Stephanie, Andrew, Dominick, Ariana, Giana, Nicolette, Gabriella, Sal and one sister Annette Wolfe. Friends may call at Sinatra Memorial Home, Inc. 601 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, at 10:30 AM at St. Anthony's RC Church, Nepperhan Avenue, Yonkers. Interment to Follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. MARUGGI, MAUREEN K.

Maureen C. Maruggi 62, of Brewster, N.Y. and a former longtime resident of Pleasantville, N.Y. died on May 11,2010 at White Plains Hospital Center. She was born on Feb.10,1948 to Vincent and Josephine (nee LoPiccolo) Carney in White Plains, N.Y. Besides her mother, Josephine Carney of Hawthorne, N.Y. Maureen is survived by her devoted husband Anthony Maruggi of Brewster, N.Y. Her loving children; Richard Maruggi of LaGrange, N.Y., Paula Manzo of Brewster, N.Y. and JoAnn Brugger of Pleasantville, N.Y. Also survived by her three brothers and seven cherished grandchildren.
