PETERMAN, CATHERINE
Catherine Anne Peterman, 70, of Spring Hill, FL, passed away on August 28, 2008. She was born in New York, NY and lived in Carmel for 33 years where she worked at Putnam Hospital. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. James Church, and the Nurses Alumni with Lenox Hill Hospital. She was a hospice volunteer and organized the Respite Program in her community of Timber Pines. She was much loved by her beloved husband, William K. Jr. of Spring Hill, FL; sons, William III (Laura) and Thomas (Maria) and daughters, Dawn and Tara (Mark) and adoring grandchildren; Bailey, Sarah, James, Will, Daisy and Tommy. She leaves a multitude of loving family and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Cargain Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday 10 a.m. at St. James the Apostle Church. Interment to follow at Raymond Hill Cemetery. RAGAZZO, DOMINICK
Dominick Ragazzo, 85, of Pembroke Pines, FL, passed away on August 14, 2008. Born in Yonkers, NY, he is survived by his wife Harriet, a brother, Anthony (Janet) Ragazzo, and a sister, Mary (Frank) Antonecchia. He was predeceased by a brother Joseph and a sister, Ann. His ashes will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery.

Lucy Scampoli, 96, formerly of Tuckahoe, died on Aug. 29, 2008 at the home of her daughter in Brewster. She was born Dec. 23, 1911 in Monteleone, Italy to Leonarda and Leonardo Cornacchia. Beloved wife of the late Anthony, Devoted mother of Joseph and his wife Barbara, Leonard, and his wife Linda, Anthony and his wife Marilyn, Richard and his wife Carol, William and his wife Barbara and Lucy Nalbone and her husband Ralph. Dear sister of Eugene, Angelo and Louis Cornacchia, Mary Lolis and Carmela Salamone and the late Incornada Maresco, Elvira Odell, Rocco Cornacchia and Ida Parella. Lucy was the cherished grandmother of 20 and great-grandmother of 26. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Visiting at the Westchester Funeral Home, Inc., Eastchester, Monday from 3-8 PM.. Funeral Mass, Church of the Assumption, Tuckahoe, Tuesday Sept. 2 at 9:30 AM followed by interment at Holy Mount Cemetery. Genevieve G. Schrank, 88, of Danbury, CT, passed away on August 28, 2008. Born in Revine, Italy on May 19, 1920 to the late John Sommavilla and Alba Piol.She is predeceased by her husband Christian Schrank and by her first husband Paul G. Fischer.Survivors include her best friend George C. Goldfuss and children Paul Fischer Jr. and his wife Barbara; Glenn Goldfuss and his wife Jackie; Walter Schrank and his wife Maria; Gail Spada and her husband Gino; Laura Ahneman; Chris Schrank and his wife Marion; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Harry W. Tompkins, Sr., of Armonk, NY, died August 28, 2008. He was 96 years old and born on December 1, 1911 to George Morse and Lovedy Tompkins in Port Chester, NY. Harry served in the U S Army as a Second lieutenant during World War II. He was a member of Masonic Order in Mt. Kisco and The American Legion Post 1097 in Armonk. Loving husband of 62 Years to Cleo Tompkins, beloved father to Harry (Sandra) Tompkins, Jr., Randy Tompkins, Donna (Christopher) Timm, Cherished Grandfather to Peter, Charlotte, Andrew, Heat her and Daniel. TUZZOLINO, FRANK S.
Frank S. Tuzzolino, son of Cira and Joseph. Predeceased by his wife, Eleanor Diamond Tuzzolino, son Peter Tuzzolino, brother Philip and sisters, Marie and Dorothy. He is survived by four children, Frank, Joseph, Patrick and Eleanor, two grandchildren, Peter Tuzzolino, Jr. and Samantha Humphrey; four great grandchildren, Christina, Amanda, Peter James and Andrea. He was a WWII Veteran, a member of the American Legion and BPOE Elks. Frank passed away peacefully on August 28, 2008. He will be greatly missed by all. He will be laid to rest on Monday, September 1, 2008 at O'Neill-Lanza Funeral Home in Mamaroneck. Viewing hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Violet A. (Vi) Vassallo, age 82, of Croton-on-Hudson, died on August 28, 2008. She was born September 15, 1925 in Buchanan, the daughter of Berardino and Laurina Schiavo. Violet graduated from the College of Mt. Saint Vincent in Riverdale with a degree in Education and taught foreign languages in the Ossining School District for over 30 years. Predeceased in 1991 by her husband Salvatore, Violet is survived by her children Andrew of Buchanan, Mary Ellen (Mike) Healey and children of Brookfield, CT, Steven (Nancy) of Briarcliff Manor, Patte (Jay) Mills of Hinsdale, NH and her grandson James of Buchanan. She is also survived by sisters Angelina Pascale, Raphaela Schiavo and Marie Bell, brother Salvatore Schiavo and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday from 4-8 PM at the CORTLANDT FUNERAL HOME INC. A Funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Tuesday at St. Christopher's Church in Buchanan.
