Marie Egenes of Bloomingburg, formerly of Monroe and Chester, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2008 at home.
Daughter of the later Osmund and Ragnhild Aavitsland Vatland, she was born in Kvinesdal, Norway, on January 17, 1940.
She was the beloved wife of Oddvar Egenes of Bloomingburg and mother of Rita Egenes and husband Stein Jarl of Kvinesdal, Norway, Jan Erik Egenes and wife Dina Marie of Campbell Hall, NY, and Glenn Egenes and wife Catherine of Mountaindale, NY.
She loved being Bestemor (Grandmother) to Karen Marie Egeland of Norway, Tina Egeland of Bloomingburg and Sigurd Erik Egeland of Kvinesdal, Norway, Bjrn Oddvar Egenes and Christopher Glenn Egenes of Mountaindale, Oldermor (Great Grandmother) to Kjell Andre of Kvinesdal, Norway. She is also survived by two sisters, Gerd and Reidun, many friends and family in Norway and here in America.
She was predeceased by her parents and brother Anders Vatland.
Aside from being a loving devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Marie was an expert in homemaking, cooking and knitting.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2008 from 6-8 pm at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe, NY.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, April 25, 2008 at 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 21 Still Road, Monroe, with the Rev. Dr. Dwayne H. Mau officiating. Cremation will follow at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, NY. Her final resting place will be in the family plot in Kvinesdal, Norway at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc., 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550 or the American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006.

PERRONE, ANNE T.
Mrs. Anne T. Perrone, age 88, of Orange, CT, beloved wife of the late Alfred F. Perrone, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2008, at CT Hospice in Branford, CT. Daughter of the late Joseph and Barbara (Kleh) Testa, she was born on December 26, 1919 in Bronx, NY. Anne was a devoted was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Anne is survived by her four loving children, Allan Perrone and his wife Theresa of Semmes, AL, Pamela Ajello and her husband Anthony of Yonkers, NY, Susan Zibelli and her husband Robert of Ossining, NY and Peter Perrone and his wife Mary of Danbury, CT, six grandsons and six cherished great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 11:00 AM in Holy Infant Church, Orange, CT, Interment to follow in Orange Center Cemetery, Orange, CT. Family and friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 PM at Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street on the Green, Milford, CT. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Community Action Agency of New Haven (Meals on Wheels Program), 781 Whalley Avenue, New Haven, CT 06515.

Edward R. Pierce, Jr., age 43, of Monroe died Monday, February 18, 2008 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Goshen.
Edward was born December 27, 1964 in Suffern, the son of the late Edward R. and the late Loretta (Marrone) Pierce, Sr. He married Robin L. Watson.
He was employed by Letchworth Village in Thiells, New York as a Stock Clerk.
He is survived by his wife: Robin L.(Watson) Pierce and one son: Edward N. Pierce of Monroe
Calling hours will be Wednesday, February 20, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe. Graveside Services and interment will be Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 1:00 pm at Seamanville Cemetery, Monroe with Rev. Kirtland M. Watkins officiating.

Sara Laxman of Chester, a homemaker and 25 year area resident, passed away on Friday, February 29, 2008 at Orange Regional Medical Center in Goshen. Daughter of the late Oscar Greenberg and Rebecca Sarasky Greenberg, she was born in New York, NY on July 31, 1921. She was 86.
Sara was a member of Monroe Temple of Liberal Judaism in Monroe. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Marc Laxman.
Survivors include her son, Glenn Laxman and wife Diane of Tuxedo; daughter, Marcia B. Stern and husband Fred of Monroe; four grandchildren, Raina, Adam, Corinne, and Keith; great-grandchild, Gavriel; and brother, Jack Greenberg of Queens.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 2, 2008 at 11:00 am at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe. Rabbi Garry A. Loeb will officiate. Interment will follow in New Montefiore Cemetery, Pinelawn, NY.

PETERMAN, CATHERINE
Catherine Anne Peterman, 70, of Spring Hill, FL, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, FL. She was born in New York, NY and moved to Florida 10 yrs. ago from Carmel, NY. She worked at Putnam Community Hospital in Carmel, NY, for 33 yrs. She was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society at St. James Church, Carmel, NY, and the Nurses Alumni with Lenox Hill Hospital. She was a hospice volunteer with Hernando Pasco Hospice and helped organize the Respite Program in Timber Pines. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband, William K. Jr. of Spring Hill, FL, two sons, William K. Peterman III and his wife Laura of Brewster, NY, and Thomas Cregg Peterman and his wife Maria of Carmel, NY, two daughters, Dawn Krieg of Charlotte, NC, and Tara Peterman and her husband Mark Little of Dalkey, Ireland, six beloved grandchildren, Bailey, Sarah, James, Will, Daisy, and Tommy; and leaves a multitude of loving family and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Cargain Funeral Home, A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday 10 a.m. at St. James the Apostle Church. BACON, ROBERT D.
Robert D. Bacon, age 86, of Pensacola, FL, and formerly Nyack, NY, peacefully passed away early Monday morning, on August 25, 2008. He was born October 23, 1921 in Edwards, NY, to his parents Lester F. Bacon and Alice M. Bacon (nee Frank). Following his father's death, his mother married Charles Martin. Robert married the "girl next door” Jean Billingsley of Nyack, NY. She predeceased him by five months. They were about to celebrate 64 years of marriage within a few days. He has been lost without her. Bob, as known by his friends, began his career with the Engineering Department Standard Oil Development Company at the Bayway New Jersey Refinery. He also attended classes at Newark College of Engineering. When World War II evolved, he enlisted as an Aviation Cadet and earned his Wings at NAS Pensacola, FL. He served in the Pacific Theatre of Operations and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with one Gold Star, Air Medal with 1 Gold Star, Philippine Liberation with two Bronze Stars, and the American Theatre Medals. Following the War, Bob was an Instructor at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola and later returned to Nyack, NY in 1947. He returned to Standard Oil and resumed his career as an Executive Pilot for Esso International until his retirement and return to Pensacola in 1983. Bob had a true love of adventure. He and his wife, Jean, traveled all of the contiguous United States. He laughed easily, had many wonderful stories and taught us much. He will be dearly missed. His three loving children survive him: Marcia B. Fisher and her husband Fred of Cantonment, FL; Lt. Col. Robert R. Bacon and his wife Nancy of Dunedin, FL and James Jeffrey Bacon of Hillsdale, NJ. His grandchildren include: Peter J. D'Auria PA, Kyle A. Bacon, Scott C. Bacon, and Paul Fisher. Great-grandchildren: Paloma M. D'Auria, Claudia M. D'Auria, Katherine Fisher, and Henry T. Fisher. Family will receive friends from 5-7:00pm on Friday, August 29th at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 30th at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel with Chaplain Ken Griffin officiating. A home reception will follow the service. The Bacon family deeply thanks all of the "saints” from Covenant Hospice who guided us through this difficult time. In lieu of flowers we request donations be made to this marvelous association at 5401 N. 12th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32504.
