Julie Lynn von Holten
May 23, 1959 - July 20, 2015
Julie Lynn von Holten, 56 a resident of Middletown, NY, passed away unexpectedly at her home.
Julie was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on May 23, 1959.
She was the daughter of Gunther “AKA” Gussie von Holten and Janet Witfield.
Survivors include her mother; Janet Witfied Specht of Beverly Hills, Florida, her daughters; Jolie von Holten of Beverly Hills Florida, Jan-Marie Melfi and her husband Vincent of Beacon, NY, her granddaughter, Isabella Marie Melfi, her sisters; Sharon Drake and her husband Edward Jr. of Highland, NY, Lisa Kane and her husband Charles III of Pleasant Valley, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her grandparents; Theodore A. Witfield and Pauline Witfield, grandmother; Marie von Holten, her father; Gunther “Gussie” von Holten and her step father Clarence Specht.
A memorial gathering for family and friends will take place on Monday, July 27th from 7-9pm at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home, Inc. 38 Main St. Highland, NY 12528.
A graveside service will take place on Tuesday July 28th 11:00am at Union Cemetery of Lloyd in Highland.

Mozelle Hogue Beck
ATLANTA, TX - Mozelle Hogue Beck of Atlanta, TX, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2008. She was 90 years old. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Charles F. Beck, Jr., of Poughkeepsie. Together, they owned and operated Beck's Farm Market on Rte. 55 until 1968. The former orchard is now the site of Peach Hill Park on Salt Point Road. She is survived by a sister, Christine Patterson of Dallas, TX and four children, Patricia Vaeth of Fort Collins, CO, Tom Beck of Austin, TX, Charles "Roscoe" Beck of Austin, TX and Teresa (Terry) Knapp of Duncanville, TX. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Arrangements under the direction of Hanner Funeral Home, Atlanta, TX.

Barbara K. Briggs-Sanderson
NEW YORK CITY - Barbara K. Briggs-Sanderson, age 52, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at St. Vincent's Hospital in New York City after losing her battle to cancer. Survivors include her brothers, William F. Briggs, Jr. and his wife, Susan from Winthrop, MA and Bruce A. Briggs and his wife, Beverly of Gardiner, NY. Survivors also include an aunt and uncle Pat and Frank Sahler of Ellenville, NY and many nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews. She is also survived by her husband, Paul Sanderson of Greenwich Village, NY. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Miriam and William F. Briggs of Highland, NY. There are no funeral services or calling hours. The family requests donations be sent to the American Cancer Society, 95 Schwenk Drive, Kingston, NY 12401, in her memory. Local arrangements are under the direction of Copeland Funeral Home, Inc., 162 South Putt Corners Rd., New Paltz, NY 12561.

Elaine A. Davey
HIGHLAND - Elaine A. Davey, 85, of Highland, NY, died July 3, 2008 at Wingate at Ulster. She had been a waitress for Norann's Restaurant in LaGrange for over 45 years, retiring in 1980. A local resident for most of her life, Elaine resided previously in Schenectady, NY. She loved to play Bingo, go on cruises and she loved to live life to its fullest. She was born May 14, 1923 in Schenectady, NY and was a graduate of Schenectady schools. She was married to Paul Michael Davey. He predeceased her on Apr. 5, 1982. Survivors include son, Paul "Mike" Davey of LaGrange, NY; grandchildren, Lisa Marie Lown of LaGrange, Paul M. Davey of Poughkeepsie, and Kelly M. Davey of Albany; as well as two foster daughters, Betty Pritchard and Christine Callahan. She was predeceased by a daughter, Theresa Hines and a grandson, James Davey. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2008 from 7-9pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 11am at Faith Assembly of God, Spackenkill Road, Poughkeepsie. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, at the convenience of the family.

Miriam S. DeGraff
CLINTON CORNERS - Miriam S. DeGraff, 92, longtime resident of Clinton Corners, NY, died peacefully June 22 in Daytona Beach, FL with her family at her side. She was the beloved matriarch of the family. Her marriage of 58 years to John G. DeGraff, a book publisher who died in 1999, created a loving support system that buoyed her family through marvelous adventures her entire life. She and John purchased their Dutchess County farm in 1941. They moved there full time in 1972 and remained until 1997 when they moved permanently to Ormond Beach, Florida. She was born Miriam Frances Pickles on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1916 in Brooklyn, New York. Her parents Anna V. Frances and George Arthur Pickles were of English descent. At age 8 Miriam and her infant sister Clara were orphaned. Both children were raised by her great aunt Louisa Strickland. In 1926 Louisa adopted the two girls and her name was changed to Miriam Frances Strickland. Miriam attended Packer Collegiate Institute graduating in 1935. She was class president and made life-long friendships with her schoolmates there. The Packer experience fueled her inquisitive nature, innate joie de vivre, creativity and passion for reading throughout her life After graduating New York University she became Assistant to the Director of the brand-new Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York City. She was in touch with everything revolving around that progressive cutting-edge art museum before she left to marry John in 1941. During WWII she raised the first two of her four children while John served in the Navy. After the War, they returned to NYC and later moved to the suburbs, living in Ardsley-on-Hudson, Scarsdale and then Clinton Corners. She is survived by her daughter Jan S. DeGraff of Ormond Beach, FL., two sons and daughters-in-law: J. Garrett DeGraff, Jr. and Margaret B. DeGraff of West Hempstead, NY and Mattituck, NY, Duncan B. DeGraff and Eileen M. DeGraff of Germantown, MD and Fairfield, VA. Four grandchildren: Scott N. DeGraff, Daytona Beach, FL, Laura D. Cole and Andrew Cole, Jacksonville, FL, John Garrett DeGraff, III and Kelly DeGraff, Flagstaff, AZ, and Caroline M. DeGraff, New York, NY. In addition there are three great grandchildren: Andrew B. Cole, Ashley E. Cole, Jacksonville, FL and John Garrett DeGraff IV, Flagstaff, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The American Red Cross or The Lighthouse for the Blind. A private memorial service was held on June 23. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home.

Frances LeBlanc
WAPPINGERS FALLS - Frances V. LeBlanc, a longtime resident of Wappingers Falls and formerly of Louisiana, entered into rest Thursday, July 3, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. She was 83. Daughter of the late Moriel and Agnes Potier Viator, she was born January 29, 1925 in Gueydon, Louisiana. After dating since age twelve, she married her teenage sweetheart, Berney J. LeBlanc on January 20, 1946 in Abbeville, Louisiana. Mr. LeBlanc survives at home in Wappingers Falls. During World War II, she traveled the country with Western Union, working where needed as most men were away at war. In 1953 she moved to the area with her husband and daughter where she focused on taking care of her home and family. She always enjoyed her perfume and flowers. In addition to her husband of sixtytwo years, Berney J. LeBlanc, she is survived by her daughter, Judy DeGiorgio of Wappingers Falls; two sisters, Lucille Weyenberg and Barbara Cahill; her four granddaughters, Tara DeGiorgio, Lisa DeGiorgio, Jeannine Conforti and Lauren Lewis; her grandsons-in-law, Mike, Joe and Brian; her great-grandchildren, Chris, Rebecca, Mackenzie Berney and Kaylie. She was predeceased by her brother, Eugene who died in World War II and her sister, Yolande. Family will receive their friends on Sunday, July 6, 2008 from 3 to 6 pm at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 am on Monday, July 7 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Entombment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Community Mausoleum, South Avenue, Poughkeepsie.

Silvano Andreozzi

Silvano Andreozzi, 81, also known as Sal, passed away peacefully in the comforting presence of his wife, children, and grandchildren on December 23, 2014.
He was born on August 8, 1933 in the town of Vecoli, Lucca, Tuscany, Italy. He was married on December 28, 1959, to Liana Ricci. They immigrated to America and settled in Poughkeepsie, New York, where he remained a life long resident.
Silvano is survived by his wife Liana, daughter Patricia and her husband Dave; son David; daughter Cinzia and her husband Vinny; son Gregory and his wife Amy. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Rebecca, Christian, Noah, Jenna, and Joshua. He is also survived by his brother Peter and wife Lillian; sister-in-law Brunetta, brother-in-law Dante, and many cousins, nephews, and nieces. He is predeceased by his parents Gino and Emilia, brother Vasco, and sister Maria.
We are celebrating Silvano’s life at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 218 Mill Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601, on Sunday, December 28th from 4-8 pm. His Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, December 29th 9:30 am, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 97 Mill Street, Poughkeepsie, NY, followed by burial in St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY.
He is best remembered for his love of gardening, bowling, watching the Mets, playing fetch with Cooper, watching his grandsons’ soccer games, but mostly being with his family. His presence will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. We are grateful that he is in his real home with Jesus.
