Louis Marrone
MILLBROOK - Louis Marrone, 81, of Millbrook, died Thursday, July 17, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital. Mr. Marrone owned and operated Esso Gas Station in Millbrook from 1961-1983. He also was the proprietor of Marrone Fuel Oil Co. in Millbrook for many years. Born in Cranston, R.I. on October 10, 1926, he was the son of Philip and Clementina Raso Marone. Louis served in the US Army during W-II. He was a member of the Millbrook American Legion Post. On August 26, 1951 at St. Joseph's Church in Millbrook, he married Ethel Ruhle. Mrs. Marrone survives at home. In addition to his wife Ethel, Louis is survived by his daughter, Kim Marrone-Williams and son-in-law Robert of Jupiter, FL; his son Charlie Marrone of Millbrook; his 4 grandchildren, Monica Bachmeir of San Diego, CA., Louis Marrone III of San Diego, CA., Stephanie Salgado of Orlando, FL. and Lindsay Schmalz of Atlanta, GA; 2 great grandchildren, Lyric-Avri Schmalz and Jeyden Salgado; sisters Mary Erts of Verbank, Angie Young of Red Hook and Tessie Feore; brothers Joseph Marrone of Millbrook, Don DeSantis of Millbrook and Alex DeSantis of PA.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Louis Marrone Jr. in 1980; sister Mary Manzi; and brother John Charles Marrone. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered Monday 10 am from St. Joseph's Church, North Ave., Millbrook. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Millbrook. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 45 Reade Pl., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Arrangements have been entrusted to Allen Funeral Home, 3270 Franklin Ave., Millbrook.

Christine A. (Smith) Venditti
ESOPUS - Christine A. (Smith) Venditti, 55, of Esopus, lost her battle to cancer on July 17, 2008 at her residence. Christine was a beautiful woman who loved unconditionally and gave to others incessantly. She worked as a school nurse at the Ulster BOCES where she not only put a ban aid on cuts, but healed hearts. She was often referred to as "Mom" and was recognized for her hard work and dedication to her students by the Mid Hudson School Study Council Excellence in Pupil Personnel Services Award in October of 2007. Even in her darkest times, she always found the humor in life's journey and never stopped smiling. She was a free spirit who loved life and never took a single day for granted. She enjoyed the simpler things and was happy to spend some time in the garden, read a good book, or go for a walk on the beach. Her most cherished times were spent with her children, family and friends. She was a graduate of Mary Mount College, Virginia. Christine was a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church in Esopus. She was born November 10, 1952 in Queens, NY. to Joseph Smith and the late Patricia Denman Smith. She is survived by her children Justin Pastor, Joseph C. Venditti, Emily Venditti, Daniel Venditti and his wife Christina, Sarah Finley and her husband Adam, her siblings, Susan Zabit, Jennifer Barrett and her husband Richard, Timothy Smith, Christopher Smith and his wife Faye, Brian Smith and his wife Tina, Granddaughter Olivia Venditti, step mother Wendy Smith, many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Andrew and Gerald Smith. Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 216 Broadway, Port Ewen, where the procession will form on Monday at 9:15 am and proceed to Sacred Heart R.C. Church where at 10:00 am a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial in Montrepose Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, July 20 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Ulster BOCES Treasurer, Christine A. Venditti Scholarship Fund, Route 175, 32 N, New Paltz, NY 12561

Rose Anna D'Albro
WAPPINGERS FALLS - Rose A. D'Albro, 95, of Wappingers Falls, died on July 18, 2008 at Hartford Hospital. Born in New York City, she was the daughter of Julia and Eustachio Riccobono. She grew up with her four brothers and sisters in New York City and Wappingers Falls. She married Vincent J. D'Albro in 1941. They lived and raised their family in Brooklyn, NY until 1969 when they retired to Wappingers Falls. Her husband died in 1994. Mrs. D'Albro was a loving and caring wife and mother who found great pleasure in cooking and baking for her family. She is survived by her three children, James and his wife, D'Anne; Thomas and Diane. There are also two surviving siblings, Thomas and Frances; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Anthony, Brian and Thomas; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitors are welcome to come to the Delehanty Funeral Home, 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, on Tuesday, July 22, from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The wake service will be celebrated at 8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Martin de Porres Church, Red Oaks Mill, on Wednesday, July 23 at 10am. Burial will follow in the Wappingers Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice.

Glenn Joseph Diaz
BOCA RATON, FL - Glenn Joseph, Diaz, 53, of Boca Raton, FL passed away on July 15, 2008. He was a member of The Elks and The American Legion. Glenn owned and operated a Concession and Concierge Services. He was predeceased by his twin brother Gary John, and mother Agnes. He is survived by his father, Ernest, brother Michael, niece April (Ken) and their children Ashley, Lola and Casey. Services were held at Babione Funeral Home West (561)483-9500.

Aurelia Emma Joyce
HIGHLAND - Aurelia Emma Joyce, 91, died Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the Hudson Valley Rehabilitation Center in Highland. Born in Tarrytown, she was the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Emma (Eckhardt) Benda. Aurelia was employed by the New York Telephone Company, and worked in Poughkeepsie and Kingston. She was a volunteer telephone operator in 1980 for the Lake Placid Winter Olympics and was a member of the Pioneers Gem and Mineral Society. Ms. Joyce grew up in Rosendale and lived in Kingston, Poughkeepsie, Marlboro and Hyde Park. Survivors include her three daughters, Maureen E. Seche of Windsor, CA; Gail P. and Raymond Roux of Denver, NC; Anne L. and Robert Borchert of Marlboro; grandchildren, The Rev. Jeffery Dugan, Barbara Hendricks, Peter Dugan, Ellen Burrola, Brian Seche, David Seche, Carol Roberts, Edward Seche, Stephen Seche, Donat Roux, Michael Roux, The Rev. Christopher Roux, David Roux, Robert Borchert Jr., William Borchert, John Borchert, Kurt Borchert, Stephen Borchert Anne F. Marsico, Daniel Borchert, Kevin Joyce and Matthew and Valerie Whitker; and 47 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, William H. Dugan; her second husband, Christopher Joyce; two sons, The Rev. Michael H. Dugan and Richard William Dugan and her great granddaughter, Rachel Joyce. Calling hours will be 9:30 - 10:30 a.m., Monday, at the DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Rt. 9W, Marlboro. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., at the Christ Episcopal Church, Old Post Rd., Marlboro, with Father Jerry Brooks officiating. Burial will be at the Wiltwyck Cemetery, Pine Grove Ave., Kingston. Memorial donations may be made to the Christ Episcopal Church, PO Box 27, Marlboro, NY 12542.

James Kalliche
INDIALANTIC, FL - James A. Kalliche, 78, of Indialantic, FL died on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Holmes Regional Medial Center in Melbourne, FL. He was born on November 6, 1929 in Tarrytown, NY, the son of Anthony and Nora Kalliche. Mr. Kalliche came to Brevard County in 1998 from Poughkeepsie, NY. While in Poughkeepsie, he worked in the family business, K and M Banana Company, owner of K-Pontiac and Boston Liquor Store. He was a member of Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church in Poughkeepsie and later of member of St. Katherine's Greek Orthodox Church in Melbourne, FL. On December 4, 1954 he married the former Elene Contos from Monticello, NY, who survives him. A loving father, he is also survived by his sons, Stephen J. of Melbourne, FL and Anthony J. and his wife, Pamela of Hyde Park, NY; brothers and their wives, Arthur and Helen Kalliche of Poughkeepsie and Charles and Janet Kalliche of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Mr. Kalliche's services were held at St. Katherine's Greek Orthodox Church with interment in Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, FL. He had military honors, as he was a Korean War Army Veteran. The family has requested that donations be sent in his memory to St. Katherine's Greek Orthodox Church 5965 N. Wickham Road, Melbourne, FL 32940 or The National Kidney Foundation. Local arrangements are entrusted to Beach Funeral Home East Chapel.

Claudio Mario LoCurzio
VERBANK – Claudio Mario LoCurzio, a long-time resident of Dutchess County and formerly of Brooklyn, died Friday, July 18 at Albany Medical Center. He was 80 years old. Born in Sicily on January 2, 1928, he was the son of the late Enrico and Giuseppina Rosano. From 1972 to 2002, he was the owner of Claudio's Restaurant in Poughquag. For many years, he generously opened the doors of his business to senior citizens from the local area and provided dinner at no cost during the Christmas season. Survivors include a son, Enrico LoCurzio and his wife Andrea of Arizona; daughter, Anne Frauenberger and her husband Mark of Coxsackie; daughter, Lydia LoCurzio of Verbank; former wife, Libby LoCurzio of Verbank; grandchilren, Annalisa and Alexander LoCurzio of Arizona, and Lauren, James, and Liana Frauenberger of Coxsackie; and many nieces and nephews. Claudio was predeceased by his brother, Joseph LoCurzio as well as his sister, Anna Marie Azzia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. on Tuesday at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction. Interment will follow at St. Denis Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
