Wilfred M. Thomas
ORMOND BEACH, FL - Wilfred M. Thomas, 88, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2008. Wilfred was a devoted husband and father. Wilfred was born in Elmira, NY on May 5, 1920, the son of the late Lucy Bentley. In 1941 at the Fishkill United Methodist Church, he married Florence Hamilton, who predeceased him recently on February 8, 2008. Mr. Thomas has been a resident of Florida since 1993, prior to which he resided in Beacon. Wilfred worked as a Mill Operator for the Chemprene Rubber Coating Plant of Beacon, until he retired. Mr. Thomas leaves behind his son John W. Thomas of Wappingers Falls and several friends both here in New York and Florida. He will be greatly missed by all. A Graveside Service will be held at the Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Thursday, July 24th at 12:00 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 1028 Main Street, Fishkill. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations are made in memory of Wilfred to the: (Court Appointed Special Advocates) CASA of Dutchess County, 253 Mansion Street, 2nd Floor, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.

George Charles Cimorelli
POUGHKEEPSIE - George Charles Cimorelli, 51, of Poughkeepsie, died suddenly on July 20, 2008. He was the son of Charles (Bucky) and the late Marion Cimorelli. He grew up in Staatsburg with his family. He married Susan Bean in 1977, with whom he had three children. George was a passionate Yankee fan, golf enthusiast, avid "e-bayer", and enjoyed his yearly vacation trips to Maine. He is survived by his wife, Susan; daughter, Amy Hicks and her husband, Mark, and grandson, Anthony; daughter, Jennifer Segal and husband, Benjamin; son, Chuck; brother, Thomas Cimorelli; sister, Robin Beers and husband, Robert, and their sons, Robert, Raymond, Steven, and Daniel; Aunt, Arlene Merkel; father, Charles Cimorelli and his companion, Diana Wilson. George was a loving and giving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend. He will be missed and remembered by all who loved him. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park. A memorial service will follow the calling hours at 8 pm. Rev. Eileen Freeman will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the family.

Jonathan Robert Malizia
TOWN OF WAPPINGER - Jonathan Robert Malizia, a resident of the Town of Wappinger, entered into rest, Sunday, July 20, 2008 in Yonkers as the result of an automobile accident. He was 32. Son of Robert F. and Laura Malizia, he was born October 9, 1975 in White Plains. His parents survive in Wappingers Falls. Jon was a graduate of Roy C. Ketcham High School and Texas State University, where he received his bachelor's degree magna cum laude. He was a technician with Verizon. He was a fanatic of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. He had a great love of children. At family gatherings, he was the "pied piper, " always drawing all the kids to him. Jon was to be married on August 8, 2008 to Denise McBurney. His fiancée survives at home in Wappingers Falls. In addition to his parents and fiancée, he is survived by his brother, Jason Malizia and his wife, Karen of Wappingers Falls; his sister, Jennifer Baker and her husband, Chris of Wappingers Falls; his great-grandmother, Angela Albergo; his maternal grandparents, Rose and Mike Cicerello of Hartsdale; his paternal grandmother, Eleanor Malizia of Wappingers Falls; his aunts and uncles, Richard and Donna Malizia of Wappingers Falls, Carmine and Diane Busa of Hopewell Junction, John and Joan Cicerello of Manhattan; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and numerous friends. Family will receive their friends on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Thursday, July 24 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9, Fishkill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to honor Jon's love of children to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

David A. Park
POUGHKEEPSIE - David A. Park, 62, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 16th surrounded by his family. He had valiantly fought pancreatic cancer for 5 years with great courage and an indomitable spirit. David was born on February 11, 1946 in Albany, NY. He was educated in Colonie Public Schools and went on to the University of Dayton, where he majored in business. He had a long career in both retail and property management, most recently as Director of Leasing for Westage Companies. David was predeceased by his parents, Renee and Walter Park. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Susan Flynn Park; his children, Lisa Pesnichak (John), Elizabeth Park and Jonathan Park. He is also survived by his brother, Brian (Nancy) Park and nieces and nephews, Nathan Park (Lisa), Ian Park (Brooke), Jesse Park, Alison Vogelien, Devon Sharafanovich, and Theodore Robinson and by his former wife, Linda Kennedy and countless friends. He was a proud member of AA and recently celebrated his 14th year of sobriety. David will be remembered for his beautiful photography (some of which was used in promotional material for Dutchess County Tourism Brochures); his love of cooking wonderful food, his quick wit, and being a loving husband, brother, friend, and father. The family would like to thank Andrew Ng, Dr. Dimitri Alden, everyone at Vassar Brothers Medical Center (especially Susan's wonderful colleagues in ICU), the Hudson Valley Hematology Oncology Group, Reverend John Simon, Adrienne London and her cancer support group, and Bob, Pat, and Carmen at Rite Aide. We were sustained throughout this long ordeal by family, friends (especially David's stauch support, Sanford Cohen; his poker buddies and the morning crew at the Roma Deli, and the random kindess of strangers. Calling hours will be held from 3pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm on Thursday, July 24th at the William G. Miller & Son Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, July 25th at Christ Episcopal Church, 20 Carroll St., Poughkeepsie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer, 111 Stewart Avenue, Bethpage, NY 11714 or online at www.lustgartenorg or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 2141 Rosencrans Avenue, Suite 700, El Segundo, CA 90245 or online at www.pancan.org.

Barbara A. Pomarico
BEACON - Barbara A. Pomarico, a longtime Beacon resident, died Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. She was 79. Born on May 4, 1929 in Dutchess Junction, she was the daughter of Frank and Esther MacDonald. She married Donald J. Pomarico at St. Joachim's Church on September 11, 1954. Mr. Pomarico survives at home. Mrs. Pomarico was a homemaker and worked for various factories in the Beacon area. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her five children, Lynn A. Pomarico, Donald J. Pomarico Jr. and his wife, Janet, Thomas Pomarico and his wife, Patricia, Kathy M. Curtin and her husband, David, all of Beacon, and Michael Pomarico and his wife, Tina, Wappingers Falls; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Elias and her husband, Jonathan, Kristal Pomarico and her fiancé, Josef Walden, David Curtin, Nicole Curtin, Michael Pomarico, Danielle Pomarico, and Trisha Maher; two great grandchildren, Marina and Tye Elias as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Benjamin and Raymond MacDonald; and her sisters, Mae Miller, Evelyn DeGelormo, Marian Arquilla, Laura Kudzia, and Margarite Moscato. The family will receive their friends on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon. A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m., following the calling hours, at the funeral home. Donations in memory of Mrs. Pomarico may be made to Foundation for Vassar Brothers Medical Center Cardiac Care Center, 45 Reade Place, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601-3947.

Matthew Robert Spiconardi
KINGSTON - Matthew Robert Spiconardi, 20, of Tremper Avenue, Kingston, died Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Saint Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, as the result of a motorcycle accident. Born September 6, 1987 in Poughkeepsie, he is the son of Robert L. Spiconardi and his wife, Kathleen of Kingston and Christine (Baker) Normandin and her husband, James of Wappingers Falls. A graduate of Kingston High School he worked with his father in the remodeling and construction business R.L.S. Enterprises. He enjoyed cars and skateboarding. Matthew was loved by many. Survivors include his one brother, Michael Normandin of Wappingers Falls; three sisters, Danielle Normandin of Wappingers Falls, Elizabeth Hunt of Winder, Georgia and Amanda Tibby of Glenford, New York; his grand parents, Ruth Doxtator of Hopewell Junction, Lucille Mangiagli of Kingston and Mary and Ronald Baker of Hyde Park. Two nieces, aunts, uncles and many cousins also survive. A funeral service will be held Friday, 11:00, at the First Presbyterian Church, corner of Elmendorf Street and Tremper Avenue Kingston. Friends will be received at the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Smith Avenue (www.jvleahyfh.com) on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Cremation to be held at the Wiltwyck Crematory. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to the fund established in Matthew's name, C/O Paula Perpetua, Rondout Savings Bank, 300 Broadway, Kingston, New York 12401.

Claude V. Wager
PINELLAS PARK, FL - Claude V. Wager, 70, of Pinellas Park, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008. Born in Modina, NY, he moved to Florida in 1993 from Wappingers Falls, NY. He was a photographer for IBM and an honorably discharged army veteran. He is survived by his companion, Michael Deitz of Pinellas Park, FL and his sister, Jeannette Sylvanie of Beacon, NY. Private services will be held. Garden Sanctuary Funeral Home in Seminole, FL, handled arrangements.
