Tammy Marie Wright
POUGHKEEPSIE - Tammy Marie Wright, 34, of Poughkeepsie, and previously of Pleasant Valley passed away Saturday July 19, 2008. Born August 15, 1973 in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of Dale and Rose Herbster Williamson of Channelview, TX. On August 19, 2000 she married Franklin Wright in Poughkeepsie, who survives at home. She was an Arlington High School graduate. Tammy was employed by People, Inc. in Hyde Park. She was always helping others, loved to write poems, she had a gift of art and was a generous and kind person. In addition to her husband and parents, Tammy is survived by her daughter, Cheyenne Williamson of Poughkeepsie; brother, Todd of Bay Town, TX.; grandmother, Rita Winne; grandfather, George and Helen Williamson; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandfather Robert Herbster, grandmother Evelyn Williamson and other family members. Visitation will be Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 on July 23, 2008 at Parmele Funeral Home, 110 Fulton Ave., Poughkeepsie. Funeral services will be Thursday 10 am from the funeral home. Interment will be private.

Madeline "Maddie" Schwalb Cole
POUGHKEEPSIE - Maddie Cole, 72, of Annapolis, MD, and previously of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., died of complications from diabetes July 23 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD. Mrs. Cole was born on May 28, 1936 in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Annie and Samuel Schwalb. She spent summers in the Catskill region of New York, where she continued to visit her many family members still living in that area throughout her life. She studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology and worked briefly in the fashion industry, before settling in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. While raising her family, Mrs. Cole worked in continuing education for the Poughkeepsie public school system and volunteered her time to various community and charitable causes, including Temple Beth El in Poughkeepsie. After her youngest daughter developed severe mental illness in infancy, Mrs. Cole spent many years working to reform healthcare and long-term care regulations for the physically and mentally impaired. Mrs. Cole worked for many years in the travel industry in Poughkeepsie, Atlanta, New York and Washington, D.C. During this time she traveled the world extensively and greatly enjoyed visiting many places including, Thailand, Egypt, South America and the Caribbean. Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by a daughter, Abbie, in 1990 and one brother, Alan Schwalb of Liberty, N.Y. in 1999. Survivors include her children M. Scott Cole of Jersey City, N.J., Beth Bassman of Chicago, Ill., J. Peter Cole of Chicago, Ill. and Adam Cole of Edgewater, MD, two granddaughters, Samantha Rudolph of Chicago, Ill and Rylan Cole of Edgewater, MD, two great granddaughters, Tabby and Annie Rudolph of Chicago, Ill and two sisters, Phyllis Luts of Rockville, MD and Francine Phillips of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. While Mrs. Cole's love for her family and friends was foremost, her other interests included swimming, theatre, history, watching ice skating competitions, preparing Jewish cuisine and knitting. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home in Monticello, N.Y. Internment will be at Congregation Ahavath Isreal Cemetery in Liberty, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to the Abbie Cole Memorial Scholarship Fund, established in honor of Maddie Cole, at Keshet, 617 Landwehr Road, Northbrook, Ill. 60062.

Frances A. Gaffney
TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE - Frances A. Gaffney, 66, of Town of Poughkeepsie, died peacefully on July 22, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital, surrounded by her children. A lifetime local resident, she had a long and rewarding career of 46 years as a nurse at St. Francis Hospital. Frances was a member of St. Francis School of Nursing Alumni Association and St. Martin de Porres Church. She loved traveling with family and friends. Her most notable trips were her annual trip to Aruba and to Atlanta to be with her grandchildren. Frances will be remembered for her dedication to her family and friends, her laughter and spoiling her grandchildren. Born Dec. 4, 1941 in Port Jervis, NY, she was the daughter of Peter J. Adams and Anna O'Neill. She was a graduate of St. Francis Hospital Nursing School, Class of 1962. She was married to George R. Gaffney, who survives at home. Other survivors include son, Peter J. Gaffney, Poughkeepsie; son, Kevin Gaffney, Albany, NY; daughter Sharon Gaffney and her partner, Jennifer Stone, Atlanta, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Gary Scheel, Staatsburg; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and David Banks, Poughkeepsie; sister, Patricia Relyea, Ganesvoort, NY; grandchildren, Ryan T. Gaffneystone and Eleanor G. Gaffneystone; sister-in-law, Anne Gaffney, Albany, NY; nieces and nephews, Denise Buckley (Robert), David Scheel (Rasha), Diane Scheel (Rory), Kathleen Banks, Christopher Banks, Elizabeth Relyea (Joanne), Matthew Relyea, Daniel Gaffney (Tiffani), George Gaffney, Patricia Lanotte (Michael), Jacqueline Gaffney (Jeff), Katherine Gaffney (Erik), Margaret Smith (Chip) and David Thomas. Calling hours will be held Friday, July 25, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at William G. Miller & Son Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at St. Martin de Porres Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, Hope Lodge, 45 Reade Place, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.

Ivan Litwinenko
KERHONKSON - Ivan Litwinenko, 59, of Kerhonkson, NY, died July 22, 2008 at Ellenville Hospital A local resident all his life, he had been a Laborer for Local 1000, retiring in 2007. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a Vietnam Veteran. Born in Austria on September 12, 1948, he was the son of Ivan and Maria Litwinenko. On June 18, 1983, in Poughkeepsie, NY, he married Tammy K. Looney. Mrs. Litwinenko survives at home. Other survivors include Four Sons, Ivan Litwinenko IV, Christopher N., Alexander I., and Jared M. Litwinenko, all at home; Three Sisters, Lydia Kichakov, Valentina Litwinenko and Ruth Beneway. He was deceased by a brother, Michael Litwinenko. Calling hours will be held July 24, 2008 from 6pm to 8pm at St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, Poughkeepsie, NY. Funeral service will take place at 10:00 am, July 25, 2008 at St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Route 9G, Hyde Park, NY.

Anne E. McKeon
GARRISON, NY - Anne E. McKeon, 76, a resident of Garrison, since 1980, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Westchester Medical Center in Vallhala. Mrs. McKeon was born December 9, 1931 in Ossining, N.Y. She was the daughter of Paul and Agnes Stoltenberg Eberlein. Mrs. McKeon worked for Ossining Sash and Door Lumber Yard in Ossining up until her retirement in 1988. She was an avid card player, bingo player, loved to knit and crochet. In 1980 she married Robert A. McKeon in Cold Spring. Mr. McKeon predeceased her in 1993. Survivors include two sons, Robert R. Harless of Fishkill, N.Y, James W. Harless of Ohio, two sisters, Jeanette Saathoff of South Carolina, Marilyn Kayser of South Carolina, and a brother, Paul Eberlein of South Carolina, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.She was also predeceased by a brother, Fred Eberlein. There are no calling hours. Services and burial are private. Arrangements by the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 218 Mill St., Poughkeepsie, NY.

Lillian M. "Peg" Alyea
BEACON - Lillian M. "Peg" Alyea, a lifelong Beacon resident, died Thursday, July 24, 2008, at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh. She was 91. Born in Beacon on July 18, 1917, she was the daughter of George C. and Lillian MacAvery Alyea. She was employed by Vogel Pharmacy, Beacon, and was a parishioner of St. Joachim-St. John the Evangelist Church, Beacon. Miss Alyea is survived by three sisters, Marion Alyea, Beacon, Virginia Alyea, Beacon, and Ann Hussey, Lloyd Harbor, NY, two nephews, Robert and Jeffrey Hussey, and three nieces, Donna Alyea, Elizabeth Hussey White, and Nancy Hussey Schuville. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, William Alyea, and a sister, Maxine Alyea. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, July 28, 2008, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 Willow Street, Beacon. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY. Donations in memory of Miss Alyea may be made to St. Joachim-St. John the Evangelist Church, 2 Oak Street, Beacon, NY 12508-1805.

Bruce A. Camp
MONTGOMERY, NY - Bruce A. Camp, 58, of Montgomery, NY, died on July 20, 2008, after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of 30 years to Rose (nee Serino) and loving stepfather of Paul and Alison Wilson of Long Island, NY, Michael Wilson of Connecticut and Steven and Carmel Wilson of Montgomery, NY. He was the devoted son of Everett and Mildred Camp and brother of Ronald (Patricia) Camp of Massachusetts and Dennis (Sandy) Camp of Alaska. He was the adoring grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild and is also survived by his in-laws, Clair Serino, Emily Forbes, Michael Serino, Mary Williams, Carmine and Carolin Serino, Lucia Eustace and many loving nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, July 27, at 5 pm at the Union Presbyterian Church, 44 Balmville Road, Newburgh, NY, 12550. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to Penn Transplant Institute, c/o Denny DuPont, 1-Founders, University of Pennsylvania, 3400 Spruce St., Philadelphia, PA 19104. Arrangements by D'Anjolell Memorial Home, 2811 West Chester Pike Broomall, PA 19008.
