Dorothy M. Stickle
POUGHKEEPSIE - Dorothy M. Stickle, 78, of Poughkeepsie, died Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. A lifelong local resident, Mrs. Stickle was a homemaker whose family and friends were the focus and love of her life. Her nurturing and sweet manner made her cherished to all the many lives she touched. Dot was born in Hughsonville, NY on April 28, 1930 to the late Thomas and Lena (Mewkill) Hamilton. She was a member of Zion Episcopal Church in Wappingers Falls, serving in many church activities over the years. On October 1, 1950 she married Norman W. "Bill" Stickle. Mr. Stickle survives at home in the Town of Poughkeepsie. In addition to her husband, Dot is survived by son Bill and wife Eileen Stickle of Wappingers Falls and grandchildren Jeff and Wendy Stickle, Brian and Amber Stickle and their son Nathaniel, and Kevin and Nicole Stickle; daughter Nancy and husband Mike Harris of Wendell NC and grandchildren Jessica Harris and John Cruise and their daughter Jaylie Cruise, and Megan Harris; daughter Laurie and husband Jim Selage of Eustis FL and grandchildren Chrissy and Joey Selage; son Rob Stickle of Red Hook and grandchildren Robert, Lea and Rachael Stickle; daughter Jennifer and husband Christopher Wimmers of Salt Point, and grandchildren Courtney, Tom, Katie and Ben Wimmers. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Sutton of Hyde Park NY, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stickle was predeceased by her brothers, Douglas and William Hamilton and granddaughter Amy Selage. Visitation will be Monday, August 4, 2008 from 6 to 9 PM at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. Funeral Services will be at Zion Episcopal Church in Wappingers Falls at 10:00 AM on Wednesday August 6, 2008. Inurnment will follow at Wappingers Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Zion Capital Campaign and sent to the Zion Episcopal Church, 12 Satterlee Place, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.

Hercules Vlassopoulos
LAGRANGEVILLE - Hercules Vlassopoulos, 98 years old, long-time area resident, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family. Hercules was born Ithaca, Greece on January 28, 1910 the son of the late Panayote and Peristera Pippos Vlassopoulos. Hercules came to America in 1940, when he was torpedoed to Canada, as a Merchant Marine of the Greek Army, but landed at Ellis Island, and later was brought to Manhattan. Whereon, July 1, 1941, he married the love of his life Mary Daratsakis, Mrs. Vlassopoulos survives him at home after 67 years of marriage. Together they were members of the Kimisis of the Blessed Virgin Greek Orthodox Church, Poughkeepsie. Hercules worked as a machinist for the Machinery Builders Inc., Bronx, NY; until he retired. He enjoyed a lot in his 98 years, especially gardening, woodworking, and winemaking. Hercules treasured his family; he was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Along with his wife; Hercules is survived by his two children: Persephone Nadell and her husband William of Dover, NJ; Peter Vlassopoulos and his wife Eileen of Long Island, NY. He also leaves behind his two grandchildren: David Nadell and Katherine Vlassopoulos and his precious great-granddaughter Zoe Nadell. A Memorial Service will be held in honor of Hercules's life at a later date, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 900 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.

Otello Bonini
POUGHKEEPSIE - Otello (Tony) Bonini, 88 years old, of Poughkeepsie, died peacefully on July 30, 2008 at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck. Born January 2, 1920 in Rome, Italy, he arrived at Ellis Island in New York in 1946 where he married the late Ida Gambini. She predeceased him in March, 1980. Tony was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his sons, Richard Bonini and his wife, Phyllis of Florida; Julius Bonini and his wife, Nancy of New Jersey; his eight grandchildren, Christy Bonini, Jason Bonini, Elisa Bonini, Tiffany Bonini, Adam Bonini and was predeceased by his grandson, Richard Bonini, Jr, all of Poughkeepsie; and Stephan and Michelle of New Jersey and six great-grandchildren, Nate, Arianna, Dominick and Mercedes, all of Poughkeepsie and Alexandria and Dominick of New Jersey. A Memorial Service will be held in honor of Otello's life at a later date, at the convenience of the family.

Joseph K. Brown
HIGHLAND, NY - Joseph K. Brown, 47, a longtime resident of Highland, died Monday August 4, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. Mr. Brown was born August 30, 1960 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was the son of Arthur C. Brown Jr. and Delores Miller Brown. Mr. Brown worked for Staff Lighting in Highland and was an avid dart player. On October 3, 1998 in New Paltz he married Christine L. Tillson. Mrs. Brown survives at home in Highland. Other survivors include a step daughter: Cynthia Grammas of Highland, a sister: Jackie Sitzenstock of Carmel, NY, a brother: Brian A. Brown of Highland, a niece, two aunts, and two uncles, and his loving birds, Lucky and Smokey and his parakeets. He was predeceased by his brother: Arthur C. Brown III. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 45 Reade Place, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Calling hours are Wed., Aug. 6, 2008 7-9 pm at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 38 Main St., Highland, NY. Prayers will be offered during calling hours. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

Angel Love Hopp
STAATSBURG - In God's Hands Angel Love Hopp, born and died on July 30, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. Angel is survived by his mother Deborah Susan Macs and his father Michael Robert Hopp of Staatsburg . In addition to his parents Angel is survived by his sister Patience Labrake-Hurn of Staatsburg, grandmother Eleanor Delio Maisel and his grandfather Benard F. Hopp, Jr. of Poughkeepsie, grandmother Patricia A. Doyle of Stormville, NY, his aunts, Sheila Calderon, Linda Bowen, Jessica Doyle, Angela Pagano, Alyssa Pagano, and Tiffany Larkin, uncles Richard Hopp, William Doyle and Michael Pagano, cousins Keanen A. Monroe, Miranda N. Calderon, Miguel A. Sanchez Jr., Jessica and Scott Bowen, Dasia Doyle, Dominquie Doyle and Demetri Doyle and several aunts and cousins in New Britain, CT. A memorial service will be held 6:30 PM on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at the River Church, 70 S. Hamilton St., Poughkeepsie.

David Klaschka
ALLENDALE, NJ - David Klaschka, 89, a resident of Allendale, NJ, for 81 years, died August 2, 2008. Beloved husband of the late Edith Klaschka (nee Cole) for 60 years (2003). Loving father of Gloria Pease of Hyde Park, NY, Barbara Marsh of Suffern, NY and the late Donald (1989). Adored grandfather of Tom, Terri and Susan Marsh, Cindy Delamarter, Ernie and David Abrams and Deborah Kempa and 12 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Barbara Phillips of AL, Ruth Olsen of MD and Herbert of NJ. Uncle of several nieces and nephews. David was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran and a retired member of the NJ Bricklayers and Carpenters Local # 4 and the H&K; Bus Co. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 from 12-2 PM with a service being conducted at 2 PM at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey. Interment will follow at Mahwah Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ.

Olivia P. Sparrow
BEACON - Olivia P. Sparrow, passed away suddenly at St. Luke's Hospital on Saturday, August 2, 2008, she was 8 weeks old. Olivia was born on June 6, 2008 in NYC and was the cherished daughter of Diana and Paul Sparrow and beloved baby sister to Thomas Francis Walsh. All survive at home in Beacon. Olivia is also survived by her maternal grandparents, Yolanda Ferrari of Beacon and Robert Ferrari of Fishkill, as well as her paternal grandparents, Tony Sparrow, Linda and Fred Dale; aunts and uncles, Simon Sparrow, Sean and Lisa Dale, two cousins, Mollie and Sam Dale, all of England. Olivia was predeceased by her adoring aunt, Diana Watson, in 2006. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 103 Jackson St., Fishkill, N.Y. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Putnam Valley. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Homes, Inc., 1028 Main Street, Fishkill. Always remember we love you, Olivia although you could not stay; you will always remain in our hearts until we meet again our little one.
