Eleanor Morrissey
PORT ORANGE, FL - Eleanor A. Morrissey, loving sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at Port Orange Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, August 6, 2008, she was 90 years old. Miss Morrissey was a resident of Port Orange since 1989 and previously resided in Mamaroneck, N.Y. for 47 years. Miss Morrissey worked in the textile industry as an office manager during her career. She enjoyed gardening and testing her wits at game shows. Born January 2, 1918 in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Maurice and Anna Fanning Morrissey. Eleanor leaves two brothers to cherish her memory, Robert Morrissey of Harrison, NY, John Morrissey of Port Orange, FL, her niece Patricia Glinski of Fishkill, and several nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Sunday, August 10, 2008, from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Homes, Inc., 1028 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 11th at 10:00AM at St. Mary Mother of the Church, 103 Jackson St., Fishkill. Burial will follow in the family plot at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, New Rochelle. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32127.

Jean B. Abbott
MELBOURNE, FL - Jean B. Abbott, 83, of Melbourne, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2008. After moving to New York from Antigua in 1947, he served in the U.S. Army for two years. While in New York, he lived in the Bronx, Towners, Chappaqua and Wappingers Falls. He retired from the East Fishkill division of IBM in 1990 after 25 years of service. He resided in North Carolina and Antigua after retiring. He is survived by his daughters, Denise and Renee, son-in-law, G. Michael, granddaughter, Jennifer and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of the U.S. Dept. GAIT04, 2100 L Street, NW, Washington C 20037.

George J. Behrens
George passed peacefully on Friday, August 8th, at Sloan Memorial Hospital with his family and loved ones at his side. He leaves his wife Linda Monaco Behrens who he chose to share the past ten years of his life with, five of those as his wife, also his daughters Kati Behrens, Jodi Behrens-Stark and Son-in-Law James also his "son" Richard James Wetzel and his "daughter" Wendy Ann Getting and Son-inLaw Anthony and his two precious granddaughters Victoria Ashley and Isabella Rose Getting and his unborn Grandson Behrens-Stark. George leaves his sister Glena Pettenelli and Bob and nephews Bob Pettinelli and his wife Cindy and Glen Pettinelli and his wife Sharida. Many more of Georges family and friends will share in the loss of George and now can all find comfort in knowing the pain he has suffered is now gone. He is at peace now and painfree with the Lord. George enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also loved being outside hunting and sharing stories with friends at the Whortlekill Rod and Gun Club. Please, in lieu of flowers, donations to Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital are requested. Family and Friends may say their goodbyes at Edward F. Margaret M. Clippert
HIGHLAND - Margaret M. Clippert, age 69, of Highland, died Tuesday, August 7, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Born Margaret Mary Maher on September 22, 1938 in Poughkeepsie, NY; the daughter of the late John and Hazel (Pelew) Maher, who resided in Pleasant Valley, NY. Margaret attended Arlington High School and graduated in 1956. Margaret resided in Highland, NY. Later in life, she attended Ulster County Community College and earned an Associate's Degree in Horticulture. She started her own landscaping business called Mulberry Meadows. She retired from Mulberry Meadows, Highland, NY, in 2002. She was very devoted to her family and her love for gardening. She volunteered her knowledge, time and efforts to many community and civil duties such as serving on the local election committee for many years. Margaret married Sylvester R. Taliaferro, Jr., who passed away December 15, 1963. She then married Richard G. Clippert, who currently resides in Ten Broeck Commons in Lake Katrine, NY. She is survived by 4 children from her first marriage to Sylvester R. Taliaferro, Jr., one daughter, Lisa Petty and three sons, Sylvester "Pete" Taliaferro, III, of New Paltz, NY, Scott C. Taliaferro and Todd Taliaferro. She has 6 grandchildren, grandson, Peter John Taliaferro, grandson, Ian Taliaferro, grandson, Delaney Taliaferro, grandson, Justin Taliaferro, and grandson, Drew Snodgrass and granddaughter, Stella Petty. Because of her love for animals, anyone wanting to make donations can make them to the ASPCA in her name. Funeral services will be private at the family's request. Ruth R. Freer
HIGHLAND - Ruth R. Freer, 82, of Highland, NY, passed away August 8, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. Mrs. Freer was born Octo26, 1926 in Woodstock, NY, the daughter of Gerald Britt and Ada Belle MacDaniel Reynolds. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, who died in November of 2000. Mrs. Freer is survived by her two sons, Gerald of Highland and Brian and his wife, Martha of Houston, TX; one brother, Donald Reynolds of Lexington, KY; and one sister, Norma Gallagher of Poughkeepsie; two grandchildren, Jessica and Joshuah, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Sutton Funeral Homes, Inc., One Woodside Place, Highland, NY. Funeral services will be at 10am on Wednesday at the funeral home with burial in Highland Cemetery, Highland, NY.

Noah Johnson
PAWLING - Noah Johnson, 97, a resident of Dutchess Center, for Rehab and Healthcare, Pawling, passed away at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie on August 2, 2008. Burial for Mr. Johnson was on Saturday, August 9th at Pawling Cemetery, Pawling, under the direction of the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY.

Robert Francis McDowell
PORT ORANGE, FL - Robert Francis McDowell, 75, of Port Orange, Florida, entered into eternal life at Tuesday, August 5, 2008. Robert was born January 14, 1933 in Newburgh, NY, and is the son of Robert and Antoinette (Perno) McDowell. Robert was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School where he excelled in a variety of sports including basketball and football. He then served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952 where he was discharged at Fort Devens. In 1956, he married the late Joan Phillips. Robert was employed by the New York Department of Transportation as a civil engineer for 30 years until his retirement in 1993. Robert was an active member in his community, serving several years as President of the Union Vale Fire Department, Verbank Flag Football League and Town of Poughkeepsie Little League. Robert enjoyed his free time socializing with friends and he was an avid NY Giants and Jeff Gordon fan. In 1993, Robert relocated to Port Orange Florida where he was later united in marriage to Grace Stenson on February 14, 2001. He was a member of the Loyal Order Of-Moose Halifax in Daytona Beach and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #4089 in Port Orange where he served as a trustee. Survivors include his loving wife Grace of Port Orange, Fl; his daughter, Donna Lynn McDowell and her partner, Maria Sedani of Daytona Beach, Fl; son, Shawn McDowell and his wife, Pamela of Hyde Park, NY; son, Robert McDowell, Jr. and wife, Jen of South Daytona, Fl. He is also survived by brothers, Richard and recently deceased, Mildred McDowell of Port Orange; Joseph and Judy McDowell of Poughkeepsie, NY; Ronald and Susan McDowell of Bradenton, Fl; and David and Jennifer McDowell of South Salem, NY; and two granddaughters, Kelsie McDowell and Kayla McDowell of Hyde Park NY. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 11, at the Lohman Funeral Home in Port Orange. Family greeting time will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home. Family request that memorials be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange.
