Erna T. Wines
MILLBROOK - Erna T. Wines, 85 years old, formerly of Yonkers, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at her home at the Fountains of Millbrook. Erna was born in Buchlberg Passau, Germany, on May 28, 1923, the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria Hofmann Lentner. Erna was preceded in death by a sister, Maria, and a brother, Joseph. Erna enjoyed a very successful career with Anheuser-Bush Distributing Company of White Plains, NY, where she retired as Assistant and Chief Financial Officer. Erna will be remembered for many things, mainly for being a devoted mother, loving grandma & great-grandmother. She is survived by two children: August J. Wines, Jr. of Point Pleasant, NJ, and Donna M. Bartucciotto of Pleasant Valley, NY. Her four grandchildren survived as well: Jeannine MacDermott and her husband, David, of Pleasant Valley; Frank S. Bartucciotto, Jr. of Poughkeepsie; August J. Wines, III and his wife, Lisa, of Mahopac, NY; Benjamin Wines and fiance, Lauren Lafaro, of Mahopac, NY. Erna also leaves behind her three great-grandchildren, who will always remember their "GiGi", Ashley and Joseph MacDermott and Kayla Bartucciotto and one great-grandchild on the way. Her cousin, Caroline Parr of Cincinnati, OH, and Caroline's daughter, Rosemarie Tampori of Miller Place, NY; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Barron and family of Leominster, MA and many friends. The Family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff at the Fountains of Millbrook, Dutchess Dialysis, Hospice and special thanks to Bertha for her loving and caring heart. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made in memory of Mary Lentner to Rosary Hill, 600 Linda Avenue, Hawthorne, NY 10532. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 17th from 1 - 4 p.m. at the Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 16 South Grand Avenue, Poughkeepsie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Erna at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 18th at Saint Stanislaus Church, Main Street, Pleasant Valley. Interment will be private at the discretion of the family.

Lillian G. Balz
BEACON - Lillian G. Balz, a longtime Beacon resident, died Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie. She was 93. Born Dec. 23, 1914 in New York City, she was the daughter of Gustave and Ilona Incedi Gaal. She was married to Charles Balz, who preceded her in death on July 18, 1989. Mrs. Balz had been a bookkeeper at the former Roosa Furniture Company, Beacon. She enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, reading, and doing puzzles. She is survived by her sister, Antoinette Brill, New Lebanon, NY; her brother-in-law, Martin Loffay, Beacon; her nephew, Edward Brill and his wife, Cheryl, Chatham; and her grandniece, Kristy Brill, Utica, NY. Private funeral services will be held on Friday. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Beacon.

Donald Henderson Gibson
NEW HAMPSHIRE - Donald Henderson Gibson, 73, of West Shore Road, died August 10, 2008 at his home. Born in Winchester, Kentucky, on December 27, 1934, he was the son of Leon and Mildred [Fultz] Gibson. He spent his career as an engineer for the Poughkeepsie IBM, holding 7 patents and received the top IBM Achievement award in 1969 for development of Cache Memory, which is instrumental in personal computers. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Adelaide "Bette" [Van Deventer] Gibson of Hebron, Pam Neely and her husband, Tom of Fairport, NY, Meg Sevrens and husband, Glenn of Rohnert Park, CA, Katheryn Goodyear and husband, Frank of Tillson, NY, Laura Adams and husband, Michael of Davidson, NC, Rick Johnson and wife, Roberta of Boise, ID, Adelaide Johnson and husband, Mike of Juneau, AK and Wilhelmina Bradley and husband, Charlie of Kingston, NH, 9 grandchildren, brother, David Gibson and sister, Barbara Jo Redding both of Versailles, KY and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in the Church of the Holy Spirit, Main St, Plymouth on Friday at 10am. The Rev. Susan Ackley, rector, will officiate. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Bound Brook Cemetery, in Bound Brook NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society, or the charity of one's choice.

Anna Theresa De Marco
WAPPINGERS FALLS - Anna Theresa De Marco, 94, of Wappingers Falls, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008 at Wingate at St. Francis of Beacon. Born in New York City on July 26, 1914, she was the daughter of James and Maria Forte Palazzo. She married Anthony J. De Marco on Dec. 25, 1939, at St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls. Mr. De Marco predeceased her on Jan. 13, 1970. Mrs. De Marco attended Little Red Schoolhouse in Spackenkill, while her family resided at RUDCO, which was located near IBM's present main plant in the Town of Poughkeepsie. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society of St. Mary's Church and a member of the Mothers Guild. From an early age, she excelled as a seamstress and was a floorlady at Dutchess Frocks Dress Factory in Wappingers Falls until her retirement. She and her husband owned and operated the South Avenue Bar & Grill in the village for many years. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed taking her four grandchildren on many trips with her sister, Millie as her sidekick. She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Boers and her husband, Bill of Fishkill and Anne Marie Becker and her husband, Ed of New Hamburg. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Robert Kimbark of Glen Falls; Edward and Michele Becker, Caroline & Eric loos of Wappingers Falls; and Melissa Drake of Marlboro. She also has seven great-grandchildren, whom she loved very dearly, Kyle & Daniel loos; Edward, Michael & Jennifer Becker; and Haley & Matthew Drake. She is also survived by two sisters, Mildred Palazzo of Poughkeepsie and Helen Velletri & Gus of Miami, FL; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Vincenza Campilii and Charles Palazzo. Calling hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday, at the Delehanty Funeral Home, 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Saturday, at St. Mary's Church, Clinton St., Wappingers Falls. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude for the compassionate care given by the nurses and staff at Wingate at St. Francis of Beacon. In lieu of flowers, do a good deed in Anna's name.

Francisca Olivera Pagan
JUPITER, FL - Francisca Olivera Pagan (nee Camacho) died peacefully on August 6, 2008 at the Jupiter Care Center in Jupiter, Florida, at the age of 93. Frances ("Panchita") was born on April 15, 1915 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. She resided in the Bronx, New York for 45 years until relocating in 2001 to Jupiter, Florida, where she lived with her daughter and granddaughter. She was the beloved mother of Deanna Guagenti, Ben (Andrea) Olivera, Jack Pagan and David (Ruth) Pagan; grandmother of Justine (Peter) Moreno, Tina (Thomas) Guagenti-Taylor, Irene Guagenti, Michael Olivera, Denise (Peter) Schira and Dr. Audrey Olivera (Eric Schwabe); great-grandmother of the late William Sanchez, Nicholas Moreno, Ryan and Devan Schira, Andrew and Julia Schwabe. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husbands, Benjamin Olivera and Joaquin Pagan. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Aycock Funeral Home in Jupiter, Florida with burial planned in Florida. The family expresses its sincere appreciation to the Jupiter Care Center and Hospice of Palm Beach County for their compassionate and loving care. We will never forget you and you will forever be in our hearts and memories. Rest in peace!

Delia M. Peloch
RHINEBECK, NY - Delia M. Peloch, 90, a former resident of Schuylerville, NY, Fort Hudson Health Services, Fort Edward, NY and a resident of Rhinebeck since August 2007, passed away peacefully at The Baptist Home at Brookmeade, Rhinebeck on Tuesday, August 12, 2008. Born July 22, 1918 in Northumberland, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward Dumas and Grace VanOrman. Delia graduated in 1936 from Schuylerville Central School and on November 12, 1937 married Ralph "Punch" Peloch. They were married 66 years at the time of his death. She was a communicant of Notre Dame-Visitation Church in Schuylerville. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by brothers Clifford and Edward, sisters Florence Kelly and Gladys McMurray. Survivors include 2 daughters; Mary Dee Eighmy and her husband George of Rhinebeck, and Sally Culligan and husband Daniel of LaBelle, Florida; 4 grandchildren, Kyle Eighmy and wife, Chrissy, Doug Eighmy and wife, Jennifer all of Rhinebeck, Michele DuBois and husband, Emerson of Kingston, Karen Broestler and husband Herbert of Easton, NY; 9 Great grandchildren and a brother Raymond Dumas of Schuylerville, NY and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 12 Noon, Friday August 15, 2008 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church, Pearl Street, Schuylerville, NY, with the Rev. Christopher Welch officiating. The Rite of Committal will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery Schuylerville. Friends may call from 10 to 11 AM Friday at Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave. Schuylerville, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made in Delia's mane to The Baptist Home at Brookmeade, 46 Brookmeade Drive, Rhinebeck, NY 12572 or the Fort Hudson Health Services, 319 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.

Kathleen (Missy) Pratley
POUGHKEEPSIE - Kathleen (Missy) Pratley, 63, of Poughkeepsie, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008. Born Kathleen Bridget McNeill in Port Chester to Catherine White and Patrick Joseph McNeill, Missy attended The Academy of the Resurrection, Rye, NY. She went on to receive her B.A. in English Literature from Good Counsel College, White Plains. She taught high school English until motherhood interrupted with great joy and satisfaction. When Missy returned to the work force, she joined the support staff at Dutchess Community College and enjoyed fifteen years of dear friends and students who kept her young and informed, as well as the joy of Union representation and a regular paycheck with benefits. She is survived by her wonderful husband, William and their son, William (Florida) his wife, Jenell and their children, Jackson and Maren; her son, Timothy (Italy) his wife, Francesca and their children, Elisabeth and Caroline; her son, Thomas (New York) his wonderful companion, Nicole and their children, Thomas Jr. and Madison. Missy is also survived by her brother, Patrick and his wife, Jackie and her brother, James and his wife, Maddie. Her sister, Mary Catherine predeceased her. There will be no visitation services. All who can join the family are asked to celebrate Missy's life at a Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, Aug. 16, at 11 a.m., at Blessed Kateri Church, Lagrangeville. Please no flowers. Donations may be made to the Blessed Kateri Building Fund or Dutchess Outreach. Arrangements by William G. Miller & Son Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie.
