Geraldine M. "Geri" Schwark-Williams
KINGSTON - Geraldine M. "Geri" Schwark-Williams, 71, of Kingston, NY, was called to rest on August 13, 2008. She peacefully went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ whom she loved. She was a charter member of Grace Bible Fellowship Church in Rhinebeck, NY. She was a faithful servant of the Lord, serving Him and His church for many years as a pianist, choir director and Sunday School teacher. She was the beloved daughter of the late Paul R. Schwark and Majorie J. Winchell-Schwark. She is survived by her husband Donald J. Williams, and two sons, Darrell P. Burns and his wife Kathleen M. of Holland, PA, David F. Burns of West Hurley, NY, stepdaughter, Donna I. Cirone and her husband, Pastor Frank Cirone Sr. of Rhinebeck, NY, stepson Kenneth Williams and his wife, Mary of Kingston, NY, grandson Leo Burns of West Hurley, NY, step-grandsons, Frank Cirone Jr. of Estes Park, CO, Jason Cirone, Amenia, NY, Ryan Williams, Port Ewen, NY, Jeremy Williams, Kingston, NY, brother, Clifford P. Schwark and wife, Karen, Poughquag, NY, nephews, Brad Williams, Pittsfield, MA, and Kyle Schwark, Breckenridge, CO, and four great step-grandchildren. She graduated from Kingston High School and was employed at Rhinebeck School District for many years. She also worked at Altomari Sewing Center in Kingston, NY. She was an avid NY Yankee fan, enjoyed gardening, and spent much time caring for animals and was a member of the Humane Society. Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 216 Broadway, Port Ewen. A funeral service will be held at Grace Bible Fellowship Church, 6959 Rt. 9, Rhinebeck, NY, 10:00 AM on Tuesday August 19th. Service will be lead by Pastor Frank Cirone, Sr. and by Pastor John Koppenaal. Burial in Riverview Cemetery, Port Ewen following the service. Friends may call on Monday from 24 & 7-9 PM at Keyser Funeral Service, 216 Broadway, Port Ewen, and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10 AM at the church. Edith Frances Senior
PAWLING - Edith F. Senior, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandma and great great grandma passed away Saturday, August 16, 2008, she was 94. Before moving to the nursing home ten years ago, Edith was a very active member of her community in Beekman, she was a member of the Beekman Rescue Squad and was the bookkeeper for the Town of Beekman for many years. Not only was she needed in the town for her bookkeeping skills, she was also the bookkeeper in the Beekman Baptist Church as well as the treasurer for 13 years. These positions were an obvious choice for Edith, considering that she was the bookkeeper for Vassar College for exactly 29 years and two months, retiring on December 1, 1977. Edith was a proud Republican. Edith Frances was born November 18, 1913 in New Rochelle. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Francis and Clara Josephine Moseley Martin. In addition to her parents, Edith's beloved twin daughters, Jean F. Brownell on March 4, 1976 and Joan A. Scaccia on February 17, 1988, predeceased her. Edith is survived by her daughter, Edith Carol Place (Peter Buchner) of Stormville, grandchildren, Loretta (Robert) Davis of Poughquag, Jim (Donna) Place of Pleasant Valley, Ken Place of Florida, Brenda Farley of CA, Scott Brownell of MI, Glen Brownell of MI, Laurie Stone of WV, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, 24; 7-9 at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Homes, Inc., 900 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533, a funeral will be celebrated at the Beekman Baptist Church at 11:00 AM on Wednesday. Interment will follow in Beekman Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice, Inc., 364 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie, 12601, or to Beekman Baptist Church, 1068 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction.

James Charles Stradling
TOWN OF WAPPINGER - James C. Stradling, a resident of the Town of Wappinger, entered into rest Saturday, August 16, 2008 at The Pines at Poughkeepsie. He was 98. Son of the late Charles and Eleanor Thomas Stradling, he was born June 18, 1910 in Tugaloo, Mississippi. He married the love of his life, the former Ina Begg, on January 7, 1933 in Eastchester Presbyterian Church in the Bronx. Mrs. Stradling survives at home in Wappingers Falls. James retired from the New York City Department of Sanitation where he worked as a mechanic. Prior to working for the Department of Sanitation, he was a fleet mechanic for Professional Linen Service in Manhattan. He enjoyed music, especially playing his harmonica. Most of all he loved his family; his family was his joy. In addition to his wife of seventy-five years, Ina Stradling, he is survived by his daughters, Ina Jane Sannicandro of Sherman, CT, Katherine Stradling-Zuccarelli and her husband, Louis of Hopewell Junction and Florence Colarusso and her husband, Robert of Hopewell Junction; his grandchildren, Frederick James, Richard Anthony and Christopher John Sannicandro, Kerrianne Fanelli, Joseph James and John Thomas Ferrari, Robert Scott, Stephen A. and Katherine Lynn Colarusso; his great-grandchildren, Jamie, Stephen and Justin Sannicandro, Kyra and Emma Fanelli, Mason and Freya Ferrari and Shawn and Alexander Colarusso; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Fred Sannicandro; his brothers, Harry and Robert; and his sisters, Annie, Alice and Florence. Family will receive their friends from 10 am to 12 noon on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9, Fishkill. The family wishes to thank caregivers, June, Emma, Cheryl, Cathy, and Melonie; nurse, Pat Ruff; and Hospice for all the care and support they have given. Memorial donations in James' name may be given to Hospice, 374 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.

Jo Ann P. Armstrong
POUGHKEEPSIE - Jo Ann P. Armstrong, 66, a lifelong area resident, died Monday, August 18, 2008. A former restaurant manager, Ms. Armstrong was an office manager at Aquascience in Poughkeepsie, for 15 years. She was a member of the Hudson Valley Railroad Society, Hyde Park Train Station, and Hyde Park Historical Society. A former modified dirt car owner and NASCAR racing fan, she was recently named her NASCAR club 'fan of the year'. She loved cats and was an enthusiastic crafter and instructor at Karen's Crafts, Poughkeepsie. Born in Poughkeepsie on September 17, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Pitcher Sr. and Cosmelia Arthur Pitcher - Hey. She was a 1958 graduate of Poughkeepsie High School, and also attended Dutchess Community College. She married Jack Armstrong Sr. in 1962 She is survived by her two sons, Jack Armstrong Jr. and his wife, Lisa, and their son, Morgan, all of Delmar, NY, and Jeff Armstrong and his wife, Karin, and their daughters, Leandra and Madison, all of Hyde Park; sister-in-law, Anna Marie Pitcher; niece, Karen Pitcher; and nephew, Scott Pitcher. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Clifford Pitcher Jr., and a nephew, Clifford Pitcher III. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial calling hours will be from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park. A family service will be held at 7 pm during the calling hours. Marian Byrnes Carroll
CARY, NC - Marian Byrnes Carroll, 100, beloved matriarch passed away Thursday, August 14, 2008 in Cary, North Carolina. She was born in Troy, New York on September 1, 1907, the daughter of the late Thomas E. Byrnes and Mabelle Savage Byrnes. Her husband of 54 years, Charles N. Carroll, her sister Arlene Byrnes Kinsella, brother Richard Byrnes and daughter-in-law Edna Wescott Carroll predeceased her. Mrs. Carroll was a graduate of New Paltz Teacher's College and Syracuse University class of 1930, a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She retired from the Arlington School System, New York after over 20 years of teaching. Her son Charles S. Carro/l and his wife Patricia, of Sterling, Massachusetts, daughter Diane Carroll Westbrook and her husband Richard, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, daughter Gloria Carroll Facciola and her husband John of Alexandria, Virginia, daughter Arlene Carroll Pontello and her husband Richard of Cary, North Carolina survive Mrs. Carroll. Also surviving are grandchildren, Elizabeth Carroll Thibideau and husband Alan, of Nashua, New Hampshire, Charles Canoll and wife Jean of Acushnet, Massachusetts, Craig Canoll and wife Rosalind of Annapolis, Maryland, Jennifer Carroll Kilcoyne and husband G ary of Rutland Massachusetts, Christopher Westbrook of Chesapeake, Virginia, Suzanne Westbrook Iyer and husband Ramesh of Newbury Park, California, Elizabeth Westbrook Shaulis and husband Eugene of Frederick, Maryland, Richard E. Westbrook of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Melissa Westbrook Edelheit and husband Donald of Heidelberg, Germany, Jeffrey Westbrook and wife Sarah of Greenville, North Carolina, Patricia Westbrook of Denver, Colorado, John Facciola and wife Kelly of Woodbridge, Virginia, Daniel Facciola of Alexandria, Virginia, Richard Pontello and wife Jenifer of Apex, North Carolina and Stephanie Pontello Hubert and husband Kyle of Cary, North Carolina. Surviving in addition are great grandchildren, Craig and Tiffany Thibideau, Daniel and Brynne Carroll, Cydney Carroll, Matthew, Cory and Kelly Kilcoyne, Christy, Ryan and Derrick Westbrook, Ethan Iyer, Max and Allison Shaulis, Caroline Edelheit, Jack Mc Adams, Anna Marian, Charlie and James Facciola, Richard Pontello and Isabel Marian Hubert. Two great grandchildren survive her, Hannah and Autumn Westbrook as do nieces Phoebe Goodheart and Cynthia Stillman and her husband Bruce of Syracuse New York. Mrs. Carroll was a long time member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Poughkeepsie, New York and more recently of St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Cary, North Carolina. The family is grateful to Jean Carpenter, Mrs. Carroll's care provider a nd close friend. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Heart Field Rehabilitation and Assisted L iving Facility and to Heartland Hospice for the respect, care and support they provided. Ethan Maxwell Hutchinson
POUGHKEEPSIE - Wanting to come into the world too soon, on August 13, 2008. Ethan is a loved baby boy. He is survived by his father, John F. Hutchinson, his mother, Sarah B. Vogt and his brother, Joshua T. Vogt. His grandparents, Tom and Denise Brown of Pleasant Valley, William F. Hutchinson III of Poughkeepsie, Aunts and Uncles, Barbara and Charles Norton, Christine and Steven Attard, Nellie and Josh Jetty, Heather Brown and Kain Brown also survive him. Ethan will be remembered as a boy who fought to bring his family together. To have held him so small, he showed his mom and dad how powerful the love between two people can be. Mommy and Daddy love you and miss you. You are so small but made the biggest impact on our lives. No love will be taken for granted my son, We love you. The Mass to honor him will be Wednesday, Aug. 20, 10:00am, at Saint Stanislaus Church on Main Street in Pleasant Valley, followed by burial at Saint Peter's Cemetery. Gaetano A. Boccia Jr.
OAKLAND PARK, FL - Gaetano A. Boccia, Jr., a resident of Oakland Park, FL, and formerly of Beacon, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2008. He was born in Beacon to Gaetano and Brigida Boccia. Gaetano, also known as Guy and Tommy, was a retired school teacher from Lindenhurst, NY. He attended St. John's Parochial School and Beacon High School and studied at Siena and Middleburg Colleges and the University of Florence, Italy, majoring in languages, particularly Italian and Latin. He was a former member of the New York State National Guard, Newburgh. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Fortuna Boccia, and a brother, Francis V. Boccia, both of whom lived in Beacon. He is survived by his brothers, Louis J. Boccia, Wappingers Falls, Julius S. Boccia and his wife, Marian, New burgh, Michael B. Boccia and his wife, Donna, Port Charlotte, FL; his sister, Mary Boccia Thomas, Long Beach, NY; and several nephews and a niece. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family under the direction of Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon.
