Jay T. Blunk
Jay T. Blunk, 98, of Ft. Johnson, formerly of Prindle Avenue, Johnstown, died Saturday, June 1, 2002, after a long illness.
He was born Jan. 15, 1904 in Hales Mills, the son of John and Belle Evelyn Kelly Blunk. He attended Johnstown Schools. He was employed as a Freight and Passenger agent for 47 years for the former F&G Railroad. He retired in 1969.
Joseph A. Tremblay
Joseph A. Tremblay, 63, of Utica, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2002 at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Joseph was born in Gloversville, NY on January 16, 1939, the son of Anna (Pannone) Tremblay and the late Oscar Tremblay and received his education in Gloversville schools. He served in the US Air Force until his honorable discharge in 1966. In August 1993 Joseph married Linda O'Dell in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, New Hartford. For many years, he was employed with the NY State Department of Transportation retiring as highway supervisor in 1964. Joseph was a member of American Legion Post 229, N. Utica and Our Lady of the Rosary Church, New Hartford. He was a golf enthusiast and was a member of the Eagles Club Golf League.
Mrs. Irene E. Van Evera
Mrs. Irene E. Van Evera, 78, of State Highway 10, Ephratah, died Saturday, June 1, 2002, at home, after being stricken.
She was born on June 21, 1923, in the Town of Palatine, the daughter of Frank and Lottie Leavenworth Kretser.
Elizabeth A. Manzer
Mrs. Elizabeth A. Manzer, 79, of Geneva, formerly of Gloversville, passed away on Thursday evening, May 30, 2002 at the home of her granddaughter.

Mr. Finkle was the chairman of the board of Finkle Distributors of Johnstown at the time of his death.
He joined the family business in 1946 and was instrumental in starting the expansion of the company which became a nationally known distributor throughout the Northeast, distributing food products, tobacco and many other consumer goods.
He became the first recipient of the Young Executive Achievement Award in the industry.
In 1989, he was honored as Man of the Year by the Neve Yerushalayim School in Israel.
In 2001, he was honored by the N.Y. State Tobacco Association with their Beacon of Industry Award.
Mr. Finkle was the treasurer of the Marian and Leon Finkle Foundation, supporting charities locally and nationally.
George Davidson
Mr. George Davidson, 71, of State Highway 10, Johnstown, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at Wells Nursing Home, Johnstown, after a short illness.
He was born on July 8, 1930, in West Islip, the son of Max and Julia Stagg Davidson.
Andrew Lawrence
Mr. Lawrence was employed as a leather worker for the former Pan American Tanning Co. of Gloversville for 20 years.

Leland S. Reed
Mr. Leland S. Reed, 92, of State Hwy. 29, Gloversville, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at Wells Nursing Home, Johnstown. He was a resident there since August.
He was born August 26, 1909, in the town of Benson, the son of Alfred and Elizabeth Scribner Reed. He attended Northville Central School before moving to the town of Mayfield in 1924. He was graduated from Gloversville High School in 1927 and went to work on his father's dairy farm, which he took over in 1930. He operated the farm for more than 50 years before retiring in 1980 and turning the farm over to a stepson.
