GALE, GERALD V.

Gerald V. Gale, age 97, of South Salem, NY died Sunday, January 25, 2009 at Northern Westchester Hospital Center, Mount Kisco. Mr. Gale was born October 20, 1911 in White Plains, NY. He married Dorothy Smith on March 10, 1957. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Merchant Marine thereafter. Gerry was the founder and proprietor through five decades of Electric Gale Corp. in Bedford Hills and Croton Falls, NY. He was active in many local civic organizations including the Katonah Rotary Club in which he had 35 years of perfect attendance. He was an avid boating enthusiast and amateur radio operator. Gerry is survived by his beloved wife: Dorothy Gale, and his sons; Don of South Salem and Glenn of Tokyo and his wife, Mayumi. Devoted grandfather of Akari Gale and brother of Madeline Oleniacz. Visiting hours will be at CLARK ASSOCIATES FUNERAL HOME, KATONAH, NY on Thursday from 4 to 7PM. The Funeral will be Friday at 11:30 AM at St. Matthew's Church, Bedford. BUCKLEY, HELEN V.

Helen V. Buckley of Pearl River, NY, for 41 years, died Monday, December 15, 2008 at her home. She was 69. Mrs. Buckley worked as a secretary in the Arts and Science Division for Dominican College in Blauvelt, NY., for 17 years before retiring in 2002. Mrs. Buckley was born September 4, 1939 in Bronx, NY to Louis and Winifred Byrnes. She was educated in NYC and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1957. She earned a New York State LPN license at BOCES in 1982. On September 12, 1964 she married Timothy F. Buckley at Holy Spirit Church in Bronx, NY. Locally, she was a member of St. Aedan's R.C. Church, a former member of the choir and a member of the Nauraushaun Swim Club. Mrs. Buckley will be remembered for her kindness to others, cheerful way and her love for her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her beloved husband Timothy, son Dennis and his wife Kathy, daughter Eileen Curley and her husband Thomas; grandchildren Caralyn, Erin, Josephine, Brendan and Timothy; sisters Marion Fennell, Loretta Ahearn and brother s Robert and William Byrnes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Friday at St. Aedan's R.C. Church, Pearl River, NY. Burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet, NY. PERLER, S. ROY

S. Roy Perler, formerly of New Rochelle, age 82, beloved husband of Anne Neville Perler of Huntington, Ct., died December 5, 2008 in Yale-New Haven Hospital. Born in New York City on March 25, 1926, he was the son of the late Joseph and Goldie Blacker Perler. Mr. Perler served his country as a Naval Aviator during WWII and graduated from Yale University in 1947 with a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering. He was the Chairman of Industrial Trucks, Inc. of North Haven. Mr. Perler, a former member of the Milford Yacht Club, was a passionate seaman, having navigated the Bermuda Race as well as sailing the East Coast and the Bahamas. He was also an avid antique car enthusiast. He was the loving father of Dr. Robert, Marc, Eric and his wife Jeanienne; the adoring grandfather of Craig, Evan, Justin, Wesley, and Kirby. He was also a friend to former wife, Jean. He is survived by three stepchildren, five step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Mr. Perler was predeceased by a sister, Rhoda. RICE, WADE LEE

Wade Lee Rice, a resident of Port Chester, died December 15, 2008. She was 91 and was born December 29, 1916 in Garrard County, Ky. to the late James and Helen Miller Mayfield. She was raised and educated in Garrard County. She was married to the late Leonard Rice who died October 3, 1953. She was a housekeeper for several families in the Port Chester, Rye and Harrison area. Mrs. Rice was a member of the Port Chester Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Mrs. Rice is survived by her son Leonard Jerry Rice, Jr. and his wife Jane of Cincinnati, OH., daughter Maxine Diethelm-Rice and husband Peter of Wallkill, NY., brother Fleece Mayfield of Los Angelis, CA., sisters Mable Jernigan of New York City, NY., Bessie Gaddis of Dayton, OH., and Lorraine Tarrance of Danville, KY., grandson Michael Rice of Austin, TX. and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers and one sister. "She ws a strong, funny women who touched many lives and will be greatly missed." There will be no visitation. ROSS, MARY E.

Mary Ross long time resident of North Rockland died Monday December 15, 2008 at her home. She was 97. Mary was born February 25, 1911 in the Bronx. Mary worked until her retirement as a Dental Hygienist at Letchworth Village in 1976. Mary being an avid golfer and bowler she bowled on many leagues at Hi-Tor lanes until she was 89 years old. Mary is survived by her son John and his wife Elaine Ross of Stony Point, NY, her daughter Mary and her husband Garry Doncourt of West Haverstraw. Friends may call Thursday 2-4, 7-9 PM at the T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home GARNERVILLE. Mary's Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM in the chapel of the Funeral Home, Reverend Warren Brandt officiating. RUSSELL, RICHARD ANTHONY

Richard Anthony Russell, age, 76 of Cortlandt Manor, NY died on December 12, 2008 at Hudson Valley Hospital Center. Born on October 28, 1932 he was the son of the late John and Anna (Conway) Russell. Mr. Russell was the retired President of MGS Service in New York, NY and an Army Veteran. Survivors include three sons Richard A. Russell, Jr., James C. Russell and Jonathan McAllister Russell, one daughter Anne Michelle Russell and one stepdaughter Brigette Johnson, and one brother, Martin Russell. Two grandsons and one granddaughter also survive. Services will take place at the Clinton Funeral Home 728 North Division Street Peekskill, NY on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Hillside cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 5 to 8 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clinton Funeral Home Peekskill, NY.

SERNOTTI, ANN

Ann Sernotti (nee Gambon) on December 15, 2008 of Emerson (formerly of Dumont). Beloved wife of the late Edward J. Devoted mother of Edward and his wife Jennifer Sernotti, Michael and his wife Pat Sernotti, Eileen and her husband John Hagen, Mary and her husband Mark Marino and Margaret and her husband Stephen Woodford. Dear sister of Mary Bernasco, Sister Catherine Anthony and Veronica Hughley. Also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Ann retired in 1988 from Ferolie Corp. of Englewood Cliffs as a secretary. She was very active in St. Mary's R.C. Church and was a Eucharistic minister. Funeral Mass Thursday, 9:30 AM at St. Mary's RC Church, Dumont. Interment, Madonna Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 3-5 and 7-9 PM at the Frech Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Venture Foundation, 25 Smith Street, Suite 515, Nanuet, NY 10954.
