CASEY, SISTER REGINA ANGELA
Sister Regina Angela Casey, a native of the Bronx, died in the Sisters' infirmary on January 27, 2009 at the age of 99. Born on July 11, 1909 she entered the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart on December 8, 1929, was professed in 1932 and pronounced final vows in 1937. Until official retirement in 1988 Sister dedicated many years to the field of education, which included elementary and high school, serving in New York and New Jersey. Her teaching career began in St. Anthony's in Butler, NJ until 1949. She taught in our schools in Verplanck, Croton, Cold Spring, Yorktown Heights, Peekskill and St. Joseph's High School in Manhattan. She was also librarian at Franciscan High School in Mohegan Lake from 1986-1988. She then officially retired from the school system. However, she devoted the next five years to tutoring part-time at Mt. St. Francis. Having been one of eight children, Sister is survived by many nieces and nephews. The wake will be held at Mt. St. Francis Convent on Thursday and Friday from 2-8 p.m. with a Liturgy on Friday at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at 11 a.m. followed by cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart. Arrangements by the Dorsey-Carlone Funeral Home, Peekskill, NY (914) 737-0848.

Louis Luongo
Louis J. Luongo, Sr. of Hyde Park passed away on Monday, March 17th at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie.
Lou was born on December 13, 1918. On June 18, 1949 at Our Lady of Grace Church in Brooklyn, he married the former Assunta DeLeonardis. He lived a long and happy life with his loving wife of 53 years, and she survives at home.
Lou was retired but worked hard during his years on Wall Street. Those who knew him know that he was the most honest and kind man to have in their lives. While on earth, his family meant everything to him. He was very proud to be part of a large family as he was one of 10 children.
We will all miss him with a heavy heart but with tears of joy knowing he is with the Lord and his son, Alfred, who passed away in 1973. They are together and at peace.
Lou enjoyed bowling and playing pool. An accomplished bowler, he bowled in several leagues.
Lou and his wife were from Brooklyn and recently moved to Hyde Park two years ago to be next to his son, Louis Luongo, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Stella, and two grandchildren, Jennifer and Daniel. In addition, survivors include brother, Charlie and his wife, Fannie; and sister, Nini; close sister-in-laws, Sylvia and husband, Fred, Viola and husband, Bob, and Ella; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, Thursday, March 20th at Sweet’s Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Fri., March 21st at Regina Coeli Church, Rte, 9, Hyde Park.
Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Assoc., 301 Manchester Rd., Suite 105, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.

CUEBAS, HELEN
Helen Cuebas, died peacefully on January 27, 2009 at the age of 92 at the Northern Riverview Healthcare Center. She previously resided in Pembroke Pines, FL and was formerly of the Bronx. Helen was born in New York City on March 16, 1916 to Frank and Pauline Dluzniewski. She was employed as a secretary and retired from the New York City Board of Education. Her favorite pass time was being with family. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Anthony, who died in 1995. She is survived by: her daughters, Paula Acunto and her husband Al of Valley Cottage, NY; Lorraine Soto and her husband Luis of Easton, PA; her son Anthony Cuebas and his wife Jean of Sedona, AZ. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jeanmarie Acunto Ramirez and her husband Giovanni; Christopher Soto and his wife Jessica; John Acunto and his wife Christine; Peter Soto; Greg Acunto and his wife Kristin; Dr. Brian Acunto; Dr. Dean Cuebas and his wife Barbara; and Todd Cranston-Cuebas and his wife Meg; seven great-grandchildren; and her nephew Fr. Robert Staar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, 10 am, at St. Paul's Church in Congers with died on November 5, 2008 in Mission Viejo, CA. He was 86 years old. Marion was born August 15, 1922 in Ossining to Frank and Tomica (Duvich) Plesich. He served in the US Navy on the USS Thrasher Submarine during WWII. He worked for 25 years as a chemist for Union Carbide in Tarrytown, NY. He was a member of Washington Hook & Ladder in Ossining Volunteer fire department for over 50 years. Marion is survived by his son James (Debra) Plesich, granddaughters Heather Siegal and Tamara Kelsey, and great grandchild Samuel Siegal, and sister, Sophie Meyers. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy in 1998. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 PM Sunday at the CORTLANDT FUNERAL HOME. A Funeral Mass will be held 10 AM on Monday at St. Christopher's Church in Buchanan. Interment will follow at St. Augustine's Cemetery, Ossining, NY. RECHENBEGER, MARY M.
Mary M. Rechenberger of Nanuet, NY passed away suddenly on November 6, 2008 at Nyack Hospital. She was 77. Mary was born on March 26, 1931 in the Bronx, NY to Mary and Myles Quinn. On December 23, 1951 she married Walter Rechenberger at Sacred Heart R.C. Church Bronx, NY. Locally she was a member of St. Aedan's R.C. Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She also was a member of St. Anthony's senior citizens club. Mary is survived by her four children Mary Ellen Wangrycht, Nancy (Warren) Selchick, Walter (Sheila), and Erich (Ellen), and 10 grandchildren Elizabeth (Kenneth), Katie, Faith, Jessica, Tricia, Joseph, Erich John, Catherine, Thomas, and Caitlin, and one great-grandchild Gianna Faith. Mary is also survived by two brothers Myles and James Quinn, one sister Theresa Condon, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Walter (1996). Visiting will be held Saturday from 7 to 9 and Sunday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. SALVATI, JANE
Jane Salvati of Brewster, NY, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2008, at Field home in Cortland Manor where she had been a resident for nearly two years. She was born October 4, 1918 in Mt. Vernon, NY to Vincenzo James Mangano and Bernadina Auteri. She co-owned Chester Hill Beauty Salon in Mt. Vernon for several years before moving to Crestwood, NY, where she lived for 35 years before moving to Brewster. Jane was preceded in death by siblings Frank, Louis, Michaelina and Rita, and is survived by her husband of 57 years, Umberto Salvati, children Robert, Michael, Patricia and Paul, 11 grand and two great-grandchildren, and brother Anthony Mangano. Calling Hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home, Bronxville, NY on Sunday, November 9 from 4 to 8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Church of the Annunciation in Crestwood, NY on Monday, November 10 at 10 AM. TOWNSEND, JAMES
James Townsend, a White Plains resident for over 50 years, died on November 6, 2008 at the age of 79. He was born April 12, 1929 in Leighlin Bridge, Co. Carlow, Ireland to the late Kathleen Murphy and John Townsend. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Delia (nee Kyne), his children Deirdre (Tim) Holland of Briarcliff, John Townsend of White Plains, Tim (Colette) Townsend of Pearl River, Teresa (Chris) Wack of Maplewood, NJ, Maeve (Pat) O'Driscoll of Pleasantville and James (Erin) Townsend of Richmond, VA. His 10 grandchildren, Brendan and Kathryn Holland; Megan, Kiera and Seamus Townsend; Kathleen and Nathanial James Wack; Bronwyn and Tess O'Driscoll and Emmet Townsend. Also surviving are three sisters, Maureen Clarke, Eilish Hayden and Renee McCarthy of Ireland and a brother Thomas Townsend of Canada. He was predeceased by a brother Sean Townsend of Ireland. Jim was and avid sports enthusiast, playing Gaelic Football in Ireland, England and New York. He loved golf and the NY Yankees. He also loved to sing and listen to Irish Music. Visitation will be on Sunday November 9th from 3-7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
