SPODNIK, STEPHEN P.
Stephen P. Spodnik, 81, of Yonkers, formerly of Hastings, passed away on July 12, 2008. He was born on Dec 20, 1926 in Hastings to Matis and Anna (Krupa) Spodnik. He was educated locally in Hastings. Stephen proudly served his country serving two terms in the US Army. He married his loving wife Anna Gibas on July 1, 1950 at the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Yonkers, she survives living in Yonkers. He worked as a conductor for NY Central Railroad now known as Metro North for 43 years retiring in 1990. He loved to go crabbing in the Hudson River and enjoyed travailing to Florida and going to the Beach. Stephen is predeceased by his brother John. Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children Stephen A. Spodnik (Retired YPD) of Yonkers, Ronald (Joanna) Spodnik (Retired YPD) of Key Largo, FL, Donna Spodnik of Yonkers, Anna Golderese of West Warwick, RI; his cherished grandchildren Matthew Golderese, William, Kevin, Maureen and Kelly Spodnik; and his adored great-grandchild Asher Spodnik. Also surviving are his sisters Margaret Spodnik of White Lake, NY, Josephine Anderk of Brewster, NY, Ann Mikuliak of Savanna, GA and Mary Jaye of Danville, KY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday July 17 at 10 AM at the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Yonkers with Cremation to follow at Ferncliff Crematory. The Family will receive friends on Wednesday July 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Stephen's memory to either the American Cancer Society or Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. BULLEN, THOMAS DANIEL
Thomas Daniel Bullen, a resident of South Nyack, NY, died on July 11, 2008 at Summit Park in Pomona, NY. He was born in Englewood, NJ to Ed and Janette Dackerman Bullen on July 12, 1938. Thomas served in the US Army and was a resident counselor at Lecthworth Village in Thiells, NY before retiring. He is survived by his children, Dana Guerrero and her husband Ramces and Thomas Bullen and his wife Theresa; his grandchildren, Emily Jack and Nicholas; and his sisters, Carlotta Mayer, Florence Ward and Henrietta Spry and her husband James. CASEY, MADELINE A.
Madeline A. Casey, a Pearl River resident for 26 years died July 10, 2008 after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. Madeline was born in the Bronx on October 1, 1957. She was raised in Stony Point and graduated North Rockland High School in 1975 and Pace University, Pleasantville, NY in 1979. She married William Casey in June 1982 at St. Mary's Church in Haverstraw, NY. Madeline worked as a sales professional with Paterson Papers for the past 20 years building wonderful relationships and long-lasting friendships. She enjoyed gardening and her role as steward of the beautification process on Kerry Court. Bringing smiles to all those who drove through the neighborhood was her special gift. She is most known as loving mother of Kaitlin, Brian and Christopher. She loved them all dearly and took special joy in watching them grow. Devoted daughter of Josephine and the late Philip Surico. Cherished sister of Tina Surico of Ramsey, NJ and Brother Philip as well as his wife Elizabeth Surico of Mahwah, NJ. Visiting Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. DELANEY, KATHLEEN
Kathleen Delaney of Greenwich, CT passed away July 10, 2008 at St.Joseph's Manor, Trumbull, CT.The daughter of the late William and Anna Sweeney Delaney, she was born April 22, 1918 in the Bronx, NY.She was proud to serve as executive secretary for R.W.Greeff and Company in Greenwich for many years. She was prdeceased by her brothers;Msgr. William B. Delaney and James Delaney. Survivors include her loving niece, Alicia Downes and her husband Thomas of Goshen, NY;grand nephew, Doug Downes and his fiancee, Tessa Davie of Colorado Springs, Colo.;grand niece, Alyson Downes of Milford, CT;and many dear cousins and friends.Visitation Monday 9AM-10:30AM at McMahon, Lyon&Hartnett; FH, Inc. JONES, DEXTER P.
Dexter P. Jones of Ossining died November 6, 2015, he was 85. He was born August 31, 1930 in Tarrytown to Earl& Mary (Millow) Jones. Dexter began his career with the Scarsdale Police Department in 1954. He joined the Tarrytown Police Department in 1958 and served the community until his retirement in 1983. He was pre-deceased by his parents and two brothers Earl and Garrett Jones. He is survived by his wife Anne (Herlihy), son Timothy Jones, daughters Kathleen Jones, Eileen Jones-Mireles (Ernesto), Geraldine Jones-Tomasulo (Paul), grandchildren Lydia and Devin Mireles, Kaelene and Paul Andrew Tomasulo. He will be reposing Wed. 2-4 & 6-8pm at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State St. Ossining. Mass of Christian Burial Thur. 10am at St. Augustine’s Church, burial Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.

Raymond Phillip Ackley, Sr.
Raymond Phillip Ackley, Sr., (affectionately known as "Bud" by family and friends), of 5186 Cold Springs Road, Trumansburg passed away at the Cayuga Medical Center on Monday, October 7, 2002 at the age of 64.
Born in Battle Creek, Michigan on April 24, 1938, Bud was the son of Raymond R. and Edna M. Clark Ackley.
From age 13 to 19 Bud attended Holy Ghost Seminary in Ann Arbor, Michigan in preparation for the priesthood.
Patriotism was an important part of Bud's life. He was honored to have served in the US Marine Corps from February 11, 1958 until receiving an Honorable Discharge, with the rank of Corporal, on February 10, 1962. The American Flag always flew proudly in front of Bud's home.
Bud worked on the Santa Fe Railroad before attending San Diego State University, where he earned his BA and MA. In 1968 he accepted a teaching position at the Cuyahoga Community College. In 1978 he moved to California and worked in Real Estate until 1980, at which time he accepted a position to teach the English language to Saudi Air Force Officers in Saudi Arabia. Bud entered the Real Estate Profession a second time in 1984 when he became an agent for Patterson Real Estate in Ithaca until 1989. In 1989 Bud moved his family to Trumansburg and he commuted to work at the Raymond Corporation in Greene. He enjoyed his position at the Raymond Corp. and has made many friends there over the years.
He was a member of St. James the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Trumansburg. Bud enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, fishing, working in the yard and was a dedicated Cleveland Browns fan.
Bud was preceded in death by one sister, Sonya Lees. Surviving are his devoted wife of 39 years, Marilyn A. Gilwee Ackley of Trumansburg; one son, Raymond P. (Lisa) Ackley, Jr. of Wyandott, Michigan; one daughter, Kimberley R. (Rob) Warner of Trumansburg; three grandchildren, Phoebe and Henry Warner and Griffin Ackley; one brother, Michael (Jo) Ackley of Salt Lake City, Utah and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass is scheduled for Saturday, October 12, 2002 at 10:00 am at the St. James Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Eugene O'Hara, OFM Cap. as celebrant. The family will receive their friends, in the church hall, immediately following the Memorial Mass.
In keeping with Bud's wishes no public calling hours have been scheduled.

John Jones Peck
John Jones Peck, 84, of 4966 Frontenac Rd., Trumansburg, slipped quietly into his new life on Sunday, December 15, 2002.
Born March 7, 1918 in Scranton, PA to George W. and Elizabeth Vail Peck, John was raised by John T. and Ella Vail Jones in Athens, PA following the death of his mother shortly after his birth.
John graduated Athens High School, Elmira Business Institute and Penn State University. He began work for the Schrier Oil Co., and then Ingersol Rand Co. of Sayre, PA. He served 39 months in the Army Air Corp during WWII; he graduated Penn State in January 1950 with a degree in journalism.
For 33 years John worked for Gannett Newspapers, 21 of those years with the Ithaca Journal. In 1950 he became Bureau Manager in Bath, NY for Elmira and Rochester papers. His notebooks of news clippings of Steuben County events 1950-1962 are to be found in the archives of the Steuben Co. Historical Society in Bath, NY.
In 1962 John joined the Ithaca Journal and became manager of the tiny branch office in Trumansburg. Later he joined the Ithaca staff and during the 70's wrote a column called "Peckadillo" which appeared in papers from Maine to Guam. John was a keen observer of what he called "the human condition." He chided us for our conceits and applauded our great kindnesses and indomitable spirit. Copies of a column on how to don a three-armed hospital gown hung in the X-ray department dressing rooms at Cayuga Medical Center for many months.
He taught his children to fish and they spent many enjoyable hours casting local streams and ponds. His retirement gift from the Journal editorial staff was a much-appreciated rod and reel.
His survivors include his wife of 54 years, Jane Shaver Peck, 4 children: David W. (Lucinda) and Steven G. Peck of Trumansburg, Robin E. Kent of Nashville, TN and Stephanie (Michael) Kennedy of Rochester, NY. Eight grandchildren: Eric (Linda) Peck, Shannon Peck, Tina Beaton, Joseph and Brian Signorelli, Kaide, Kelly and Kendra Peck. Three great-grandchildren: Morgan Beaton, Eric II and Elizabeth Peck. John was predeceased by parents and guardians and 2 brothers: George V. Peck and R. Warren Peck.
The family will be present to receive their friends at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg on Friday, December 20, 2002 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, Ithaca, NY on Saturday, December 21, 2002 at 3:00 PM with the Rev. Philip Snyder officiating. The family will receive friends, in the Parish Hall, following the service.
